Hi
Sorry for the late reply, it appears that it wasn't anything to do with pd14, i think the clips were corrupted somehow, downloaded them again in h264 format and there was no further problems.

Hi Everyone
i have been putting some downloaded material onto discs and have come across a problem, a few of the episodes have are in H265 format and after conversion to 3 episodes per disc, each episode stops 15 mins from the end, the audio is still playing but the picture freezes, all the other files that are encoded in H264 format convert and play fine.
i have attached mediainfo log
Can anyone help?
Regards
Pete

Hi
Its very straight forward, i didnt change any settings, just loaded your file into the top section, then made sure that in the middle section all three boxes were ticked.
The bottom section "Output" is set to TS muxing and a different place to save the resulting file, then i just click the "start muxing" button and wait for a few seconds for it to process.
Hope this helps?
maybe give me the link to the video you watched?

Here is the program I used, been using it for a while now, seems to be able to rescue most things.

Did you install any other software that night? , maybe try a system restore from say a week ago to see if that helps?

I'm currently at work, but when I get home tonight I'll take a look at the second clip and give you some more info on what programs to try, also a program I use to check all my memory cards, it takes a while to do but well worth it for peace of mind.

Hi
ive managed to get this, but not sure how long the clip is supposed to be?
Pete

Thanks for the clarification Carl, it makes a bit more sense now.

Sorry Carl, I have to disagree, I've produced plenty of dvds over 2 hours and they are perfectly watchable. Just obviously not produced with powerdirector.
Also it still doesn't answer why smart fit produced a bigger file than HQ best quality?

Hi Pete -
To me, that just looks like SmartFit didn't have to do much mathematical gymnastics to fit the project onto the DVD. That's why the bitrates are so similar.
In real life, I doubt you'd see much difference in PQ between the two discs. Label them A & B & see if anyone can spot the difference.
I seriously doubt that the SmartFit disc is "better" than the other, just on the basis of a few Kbs p/s.
Cheers - Tony
I agree Tony but what I'm confused is to why in my original post the Smart Fit takes up more space than the HQ one, surely it should be opposite?

Hi
i did use Mediainfo, here are the two specs from two VOB files, one from HQ & one from Smart Fit
what do you guys think??
Pete
|
|
Hi Folks
im baffled, most of the time im told to use HQ to get best results on my dvd's.
so today i had a project to burn, i used an 8.5 gb dvd and power director estimated as follows..
HQ 7873mb (actually got 5580mb), according to Mediainfo the overall bitrate was 5826.
then i burnt the same project using Smart Fit..
Smart Fit 8150mb (actually got 5620mb) and Mediainfo overall bitrate was 5843.
So is it me or is this saying that Smart Fit is better than HQ in this situation??
Confused
