Quote Is there a setting on turning on the audio when doing frame by frame moves? It is nice to hear the audio to when triming.

Think about it - what sound would be useful for 1 of the 30 or 60 frames per second of the video? or are you looking for audio during video scrubbing?

Use the wave form for a visual indication.
Please be careful where you post if you want to get good answers -- or any answers. You posted in PowerDVD, a video player and not where you should have posted -PowerDirector.

Please, only one post per topic/issue. Chose the best place - Color Director or PowerDirector. I responded in the other thread. Change the title of that one to indicate that this is the thread that is more relevant.

I just tried it with the latest W10 update and had no issue opening ColorDirector from PowerDirector.

Quick question, are you doing the installs/repairs with your antivirus ON? Why?
What versions of ColorDirector and PowerDirector do you have? Where did you get them?

Please post the text file from the dxdiag.exe evaluation of your computer. There is no personal information except for what you called your computer.
Quote Is it possible to post a photo slideshow on Youtube.

Thanks

Yes. You can produce the slide show to a mpg4 or wmv video file.

Use the YouTube's uploader to upload it. Remember the restrictions YouTube has (length, format, etc.)
Frustrating isn't it? I have PhotoDirector 9.

I just got the Fall update installed yesterday and was able to open PhotoDirector 9 without a problem. It seemed a little slow opening it the first time though. I was able to add and edit photos.

I have a nVidia GTX 760 with 388.13 driver - Oct 30, 2017.

Have you rolled back the driver to an earlier one?

Edit: I also have PhotoDirector 5 on this computer and it also opened without issue. I did not checxk to see if it worked properly.
You can put that much on a double sided DVD ONLY if you don't care about quality. You can reduce the bit rate and do a standard DVD format. Smart fit will work but I don't think you will like the results.

I suggest that you burn the video to an ISO file and then copy that ISO to a RW DVD just to save discs. You can erase it if it is too bad to watch.

Since it sounds like you have not burned a lot of DVD, make use of the Tutorials on PowerDirector. Look at the older ones also. Here is one to watch.

Since you are starting with HD video, hae you thought about burning to a blu ray (BR) ? Of course, you will need a blu ray burner, BR blank media and a BR player (stand alone or as part of a computer program.)

Remember you can't but 7.5 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket without do some modifications.
Quote Hi ,

How to compress a large video file ( 8700 MB ) to a 4.7 GB DVD in Power Director 16 ?
Thanks

Hi Jean, welcome to the forums. Are you working with standard definition or high definition videos. What format are your videos? Where did you get the video? Please, we need more information.

I assume that you want to make a video DVD. In that case, the size means little. All standard DVD have a mpg2 format.

At best quality (less is not desired), you can fit one hour of mpg2 video on a single layer DVD. You can put a little less that 2 hours on a douple layer. Most players will play double layer DVDs.

With some modification, yoiu can burn a video to a blue ray disc.

If you are just burning a data disc, then you can use a more compressed format but that disc won't play on a DVD player.

Please change the name of this thread (only you can do that) to reflect that it was posted in the wrong place. I see you have already posted in the right area.
Perhaps what you need is "Vasco da Gama" software. One of the video editors I used had a free add-on for it; otherwise it was expensive. Perhaps you can get an old version with less cost.
Quote I thought it was “ducking” not “dubbing”.

Thanks, I corrected it.
Not in Pd 12.

In the latest version, they have added audio ducking which automatically lowers and raises the volume when there are two audio tracks being played.

OOps, corrected
You may have been close. Higher number tracks always overlay lower numbered tracks. Add your picture or color board to the first track. Make sure it is 16 by 9. Add your video to the higher number track.

What settings do you have set for your project?
I forgot to ask how long (time) was the video?

There are double layer DVD that can be used IF the video is just under 2 hours long. Is it possible tor trip the video. Naturaly you may want to skip the menu to save space. The video will start to play as soon as the player recognizes it.

Most modern computers and DVD players will play double layer DVDs

Yes, you can burn to 3 separate DVD but it is not automatic.
Quote Did some automatic Windows7 Pro updates. Now PowerDVD won't even start. Click on app, and nothing happens.

Suggestions?

1. Try reinstall the program.

or

2) Roll back W10 to where PDVD worked before.

Or have you found you solution elsewhere? If so, what did you do?
Quote I was download some express projects use in power director 15.

But all projects is no sound, why, please help. THX.

Not nearly enough information for us to even hazards a guess. Put more time into developing and asking your question that what you think it will take to answer it.

Where did you get the express projects? Why are you putting them in PowerDirector 15 -- ar you just reloading them? etc. DFid you move any of the videos you are using fromn what they were originally? Did the express projects work right originally? rtc.

Post your computer specs via dxdiag.exe.
As always, did you wait long enough? All the bars must be green.

Have you cleaned you hard drive recently The shadow file folder may be full. Sorry, I don;t know where it is.
Vitascene:

Includes 100+ effects and filters that can be used to manage film looks and add effects such as old film, blur, glow, starburst and many mor
Watch this, it might help. It is close enough. Start about the 3 minute mark. If you want chapters in individual videos start at the beginning.
When you chose your theme, did you apply to all pages?

No menu will work but you can't have scenes (like chapters). Play is play all.

Also look at menu structure if you want special navigation.
Quote I just downloaded and have started to use PD 14. I am impressed! But, when I go to create a disc, the Monopoly screen with the "You won a trip around the world" is part of my DVD.

How can I remove that so that only my video is displayed at the start?

Thank you !

Tom

In produce, go to menu preferences and scroll to the bottom. You should find "no menu" there.

Do you have only one video on the disc? If you want more than one, select one of the other menus for eassy selection.
... or a large thumb drive or portable hard drive. There are video formats that highly compress the video without much visual loss (like DiVX).

Where do you want to "show" the survey? What equipment is available at the location where the video will be shown. How long is the video (time)?

What format is the video that you have?
