Hi,
For completeness can you give the exact version of PDR you are using?
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/85748.page#post_box_354918

More importantly, can you give as much detail as possible on your capture setup, sources and process?

Cheers

PD Version 21.0.2619.0, SR number: VDE230203-02

Dell i5 PC has PCIE-1394A Firewire capture card.
HDV and DV content comes from Sony HVR-M25U via firewire.
SVHS content comes thru VCR into AV to firewire converter.

This setup worked fine with previous PC - Dell Win 8.1. Only new items now are Dell PC and the capture card.

HDV footage comes in fine into PD21. DV footage, only audio comes through. Video comes thru only on PAUSE. Once PLAY is hit, screen goes black, audio is on.

Thank you for any suggestions !
PD21 on new Win 11 PC.. Captures HDV content very well, but DV or analog videos only hear audio - no video coming through. What am I missing ?

Thanks Tom, I'm on that right now....
Thanks, Tom for the input.... That video card, GT635, seems to be the lousiest on that list - I'll see about upgrading that... The 2 boxes under Hardware Acceleration were already unchecked, and Windows says the 3-year-old driver is the latest available... I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this occasional drop to lo-res image while editing....
In PD12, on occasion, when I edit or split a clip of HD video, the preview screen jumps to lo-res quality.. Setting is still full HD quality for preview. If I save and reload clip, it's HD again - but if I make any change to it (like split or cut or even take a photo snapshot) it reverts to lo-res. Largest bummer is that creating a PRODUCE file from this edit turns out in lo-res, like our ancient friend VHS... Very bad for customer! This only happens sometimes, and not sure why or what workaround might be... Diag is attached.. Thanks in advance for help...
Hello SteveK.. The actual audio & video of the footage is in sync and is fine..

It is the audio track - the visual audio graph under the video track on timeline that is slightly off. The actual sound occurs a little before or after the graph shows it to happen.

It wouldn't be a big deal except I make chapter points 1 sec before the speaker speaks and I'd like to do it visually from the timeline's audio track instead of listening for it to happen, then backing up 1 sec...

Is there a way to slide the audio track part to match up with the actual sound happening?
In PD12, although the video & audio are in sync during playback, the audio track is a little off. I do a lot of edit points when speaker begins talking.. Is there a way to refresh or slide the audio track slightly one way or the other to match when the sound occurs ? Thanks !!
Hello.. In PD12 when I add two edited segments together on the timeline, the chapter points become unhinged and offset on the added portions.. Is there a way for the chapter markers to self-compensate for the added footage before them ?
Problem still present... A small edit to a timeline drops the pic quality from nice HD to more fuzzy look... Resulting DVD has pixellation on areas of movement.. Even visible on dual-layer DVD. NOT there when Produced to H264 and viewed from flash drive. Updated video card driver.. Any ideas ? Thanks..
Ok, I unchecked the "enable hardward decoding" box.. The other wasn't checked.. I'll experiment more now.. Thanks..
Tomas - Yes, no hardware changes except for adding another external HD... I just updated the NVidia driver, but same problem persists... Is there a way to test the video card? Device Manager says it's working OK...

Thanks...
Hello all! With PD12, this has been happening lately: HD footage looks fabulous until I do some easy edits, like a cut or delete a few seconds. The footage in the preview window drops in picture quality, resembling more VHS than HD.. Resulting DVD looks pixelly and crappy, too.... Sometimes if I undo the edit, or if I go back to source file, the quality jumps back to HD.... This occurs with some parts of the content, even though it all came from same source... Text file is attached... Any ideas ?
Hello all.... While burning to DVD in PD12, getting an error eEB020BE4 at the 100%/99% authoring/burning process. Says "burning unsuccessful" with that error code.. Already finished a dozen DVDs with no issues... Re-burned a previous project and that worked fine -so it's not the actual DVD burner.. Also re-edited this particular segment with same burning error. Any ideas? Diag attached... Lenovo K450, 8Gb RAM, 3Tb external HD.. Thanks..
Carl -

Each of these components has up-to-date drivers.. Did you see something lacking in the diagnostic ??
Carl - hello! DxDiag info is attached.. At least I think it is..
Carl - Mystery, indeed! What would be the weak link that makes the video/auduio out of sync? Is 8Gb RAM enough? Is the graphics card (GT 635) robust enough? What else? That might be causing the pixelly effect on the other job... Thanks !
Thanks, guys.. I've looked at these things.. Carl - the PC sees the HDV deck as a device but there is no way to "control" it.. I don't know how to import the footage via Win Media Player.. The HDV deck contains footage I shot, recorded via HD-SDI input on another deck - and does not save media as a "files" like a PC would..
Steve - I use AVAST for anti-virus, and I turned it off and brought CPU usage down to 2% ! Same issue of pixelly & jumpy capture, though... This is original footage I shot so it's not an issue of HDCP or copyright encryption.
Very puzzling for this beefy desktop and really handicapping my editing future.. I'm open to more direction.. Thanks!
Yes, I did confirm the HDV/DV output option and it is set correctly. Might the capture issue be on the receiving end of the equation? Something amiss with capture or graphics cards ? Drivers? All seems up-to-date and desktop is a new system..
Thanks, Carl. I'm not aware of any software for the M25U. It's an HDV tape deck with firewire in/out and HDMI out.
Using PD12 Ultra, capturing HDV content from Sony HVR-M25U deck via firewire... In preview, footage is coming in pixelly and jumpy and it does not improve in edit mode... Sometimes footage ingests OK, but audio & video are out of sync. System is a new Lenovo K450, Windows 8.1, 64 bit, intel i5, Nvidia GT 635 graphics card with firewire capture card.. Please advise.. Thanks in advance!
