Quote Hello,

The closest transitions to this are the page turning transitions that have been in PowerDirector for as long as I can remember (see pageturn.jpg).

There are some slidshow and Theme Designer templates that have intros where a book is opened, but not sure if that will fit your needs...it depends what you are trying to do. Check the Theme Designer template "Notebook" as a starting point.

Cheers

Thanks. The page turners are not for this project. I'll check the Notebook.
Is there a transition effect that simulates opening and closing a book?

None of those is related to the content of actual frames. The continuous thumbnail feature is only meant to give you an idea of what content is where in the clip, and unless you have the timeline zoomed in so that every single frame is visible it's possible that the thumbnail content won't line up exactly with the underlying frames.

Similarly, shadows files are created with the same frame rate as your original clips so using or not using them shouldn't have any impact on the contents of each frame. You may need to set the drop-frame option if you're working with 30fps or 29.97fps clips, for example.

Thanks much.
Quote I'm restoring a film on Power Director 18. There are several instances of punched cue dots that I am replacing with corrected frames (usually 3 or 4 in a row). When I produce the project the frame selection is off by 2 or 3 frames. Any suggestions for nailing frame selection accuracy?

I think I solved it by disabling the shadow edit file and the continuous thumbnail image. So far so good.

The help screen link above is correct for changing the duration but the OK button must be clicked to change it to the new time for the Root menu page that is used. This does not apply to the Titles/Chapters page.

You need to clarify as to whether you are including the root menu. Image or videos can be used for the background of both the root and chapter menu pages. There is a different procedure if the root menu is not included.

Got it. The Playback Mode timing is the key. Thanks!!
Quote Try going into the discplayback settings and change value in the "Duration" box. I believe that controls the menu background music.

That's the problem. No matter what length is selected, it times out after about 10 seconds and goes back to start of cue.
I know there are some unresolved messages from years ago so I'm posting this as a PD 18 user.

When I create a menu and add a 34 second music clip (selecting that length in the menu specs) the music recycles after 10 or 15 seconds. Has this old issue been resolved with some fix?
Thanks. I'll have to check my hardware acceleration setting.
I created a project that was, depending on the profile, a maximum of 39GB. I created an .iso file. I then burned it to a 50GB blu-ray but the disc would not play.

Is anyone else having trouble with double size discs? I use Verbatim. Are there some profiles that will not play in standard blu-ray players?
Quote Once the image is selected, look in the Tools tab above the timeline.

Thanks so much! Works like a charm. I don't know how I missed this during all the years I've used PD. This will make my reconstruction project a breeze! sealed
Quote I am not sure what you mean with key framing. But:

With the image selected, open the pan and zoom facility. Select one of the presets that comes closer to what you want, or select custom. Then open the manual adjustments. I am using this often and it is a matter of seconds to get to the right settings. (After you have got the hang of it).

Where is the pan and zoom facility?

Thanks so much for the reply!
I have been very frustrated doing panning and zooming in Key Frame. Is there another feature I should be using?

For instance, I have a 15 second clip of a photograph. during the clip I want to zoom in slightly and pan slightly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a long project and it seems frought with aggita.
Quote I looked at your site. Very impressive work you are doing.

Thanks so much! And you can see some of my Faux Trailers (produced on Power Director 12) at my youtube channel:

Well, lads, I fixed the problem. I did some searching, found an old thread, and tried clicking OFF Enable Hardware Acceleration. That did the trick.

Thanks again for the replies!
Thanks, I'll go through the steps. But I'll tell you right off it's not the clips and there is no difference between PD player and external player. I did testing on my Windows 7 computer with same materials and there were no problems.

Thanks so much for responding. More later.
I am running 64 bit PD 12 on Windows 10. When I put a video file on the timeline it plays stuttered. And it produces the same. Any ideas? I used to run on Windows 7 32 bit and no problem.
Well, I answered my own question. I did some online research and found a similar query about PD9. SOLARIZE in the Effects library does exactly what I need.
Yes - I want to convert a film that is negative (left image) to positive (right image)

Is there a way to create a negative image of your video? I have transferred a film negative and imported it to Power Director 12. Now I need to convert this negative image to a positive. There is nothing in the program. Downloadable feature perhaps?
