I am running 64 bit PD 12 on Windows 10. When I put a video file on the timeline it plays stuttered. And it produces the same. Any ideas? I used to run on Windows 7 32 bit and no problem.

Stuttering/unsmooth playback when previewing on the timeline is one thing, and is usually caused by an underpowered PC and/or adding some effects or edits that tax the system too hard to render everything in real-time. However, you shouldn't see anything but smooth playback on the finished video. Are you watching on a different media player, or previewing it on PD12's timeline?

There are dozens of details that would really help us figure out what's going on, so I'll ask you to please follow the steps shown in the Read Me Before Posting sticky thread and attach the DxDiag results.

There may also be an issue with your source clips, and if you're comfortable sharing a short sample, you can also use the Attachments button below the forum's text box if the clip is smaller than 5MB:

For a larger clip, please upload it to a cloud folder and share the link here.

Thanks, I'll go through the steps. But I'll tell you right off it's not the clips and there is no difference between PD player and external player. I did testing on my Windows 7 computer with same materials and there were no problems.

Thanks so much for responding. More later. Ray Faiola

Windows 7 was the bomb for video. Windows 10, not so much.
PD12-32bit, did you ever notice your extra Capture menu? You can access lossless and other AVI codecs and even integrate VFW interface and restoration filters. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Well, lads, I fixed the problem. I did some searching, found an old thread, and tried clicking OFF Enable Hardware Acceleration. That did the trick.

Thanks again for the replies! Ray Faiola
