I deleted both the original and PM messages.

thanks for your help.

I just got a very strange private message. I wonder if others got it. It is from Anthony Umeria. It says Interest trust love and biography nice looking banker.

I thought I should report this to the forum. Is there a way to block such messages?

thanks,

Heavytiger
Which of these two file types are easier to edit?

thanks,

Heavytiger
Thanks everyone

You gave me some ideas to work with.

I am working on a video of a trip to the Petrified Forest in Arizona. I have a picture of my brother in law that I would like to alter to make him look like he turned to stone. (the trees in the Petrified Forest turned to stone).

Maybe this can be done in Paint.net. Does anyone know how?

HT
I would like a plug in by PD that can do some of the things Adobe After effects does. Or maybe New blu can develop something.

Woops I didn't realize my post from yesterday went through. I was looking for it at the top of the list.

HT
I would like to see Cyberlink create a plug-in like Adobe After Effects. Of course it would be a light consumer version. Or ask New Blu to create one.

HT
It would be nice to have special effects that could be added to titles. Such as burning letters, water dripping off letters, snow falling on letters, letters melting away, etc.

HT
I created a title that overlays a video of a flowing river. My title looks like it is coming out of the river but to make it more realistic I need the illusion of water dripping off the letters as the title comes up out of the river to above the surface. Just like if you dunked a real sign in water and brought it back up to the surface. Water would drip off the letters. The only way I can think of doing this is to have a dripping water green screen effect overlay the letters. I couldn't find one on You tube. Perhaps I could make my own?

Any creative suggestions?

Here is a link.

Has anyone read the Muvipix guide to Cyberlink powerdirector 14 ultimate by Steve Grisetti? Any opinions?

Pd is advertised to edit frame rates up to 240fps. I am thinking about purchasing the new Sony RX 10 mark 3 that can record super slow motion at a rate of 960fps.

Would I be able to edit video with these high frame rates in PD?

thanks,

HT
That was great animation.

Does anyone know how to make a talking head in Pd? The only part of the head that moves is the mouth opening and closing.

thanks,

I am concerned about 3 things if I have to convert to mp4.

One is that in the conversion I will loose quality.

The second thing is how to convert efficiently. For example, if I am on vacation and take 100 short clips I would have to convert each clip individually to mp4 to keep them separate for easier selection while editing. If I convert the 100 clips to one big file I would have to split the one long clip into to 100 original clip division before I edit.

The last thing is what program do you recommend for the conversion process?

thanks,

HT
I am thinking about buying a new camcorder. It is the Canon XC10. It records 4K in a format called MXF. People who edit with Adobe Premiere have difficulty editing with this format. They must transcode MXF to mp4 or other formats that work well with Adobe. Since Adobe is considered professional editing software I am concerned the MXF format will be a problem for PD 14. I am currently using PD 11 and would like to up grade to 14 but I first need to know if it can handle the MXF format.

Has anyone tried editing the MXF format with PD 14?

thanks,

HT
To Carl

So I need to download first, then save a copy to a double layer DVD. This would be done before clicking on run program. After the copy is made I go back to the original downloaded file file to install the program. What subfile do I look for to install the program?

HT
I am going to purchase power director 14 suite. Can some one give me step by step instructions how to make my own back up disc. Are the downloaded files spread to many locations on the computer HD or do they all go to location in the downloads file? Do I first download all the files and then copy to disc before running the program? I have bluray discs if the files exceed the capability of a standard DVD.

thanks

HT
Thanks Ynotfish

Do you think more masking controls would be a good feature request for pd 15? Like what is in color director but be able to do a complete mask, not just change color.

HT
Is it possible in PD 14 or PD14 suite to make a custom mask like in the attachment?

thanks,

HT
Yes it does. Thanks,

HT
