I am working on a video of a trip to the Petrified Forest in Arizona. I have a picture of my brother in law that I would like to alter to make him look like he turned to stone. (the trees in the Petrified Forest turned to stone).

Maybe this can be done in Paint.net. Does anyone know how?

Try the Abstractionism FX filter in PD14 to turn him and the forest into stone like a work of art as shown in the sample file.

It's another 'how many ways to skin a cat' question (apologies to cat lovers).

I use 'Paintshop Pro' but as long as you've got a graphics app that supports layers it's very 'do-able'. It depends very largely on your artistic ability I reckon (mine stand very near zero).

Me becoming stony faced attached - it's a very rough 5 minute test painting with a semi-transparent pattern to get the final effect and then morphing one to the other.
