The PD Toot creating a video wall with PD8 shows details not available in PD14. eg: How to select PIP tracks in sequence

and how to fit to time line. Thanks.....Baz
PS: My son gave me the Sony thinking it would do the job.
The last camcorder I used was a Panasonic several years a go and the software was unique to Panasonic. At that time I did have a firewire but that was three PC's ago. The last few years I have been making video's using digital stills and with PD (I started with PD have been happy with the results using movement etc. However I decided to get serious again and want to produce something worthwhile now that I have lots of time available. Also I will be taking a six week cruise to Asia and the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival and want to do a job of it. Baz
Thanks Neil.... will keep it in the "one-day" box....

Baz
Thanks guys...have given up on that and have purchased a Panasonic HC-V250. Those problems are now on the "too hard" shelf.

Baz.
Ihave just acquired a Panasonic HC-V250 and have been unable to "capture" to PD14. I can use the LE2.1 Panasonic software then save to disc and input to PD14 but it is then in the format from the camera. I would rather save direct to disc or to PD14. A selection of camera formats can be selected AVCHD 1080/50P or MP4 1080 or 720 etc. What can I do to capture from the camcorder with PD14? Or is there a better way?

I tried ACHD 1080/50P but when editing with PD14 it did not like transition and would render each one individually. I think I may be overlooking the obvious??

Baz.
Thanks Pepsiman....yes I have one on order should be here in Oz mid January. Baz
Thanks Neil but I may have another option to explore. Because the Sony has the out put from the tape I am about to purchase a converter cable that MAY do the job.
Baz
The end result is that I do NOT have a firewire and do not intend to get one as the Sony is old technology and was given to me by my son who seems to think I am so mean and miserly that I will not purchase a new camcorder.
Thanks guys.... Baz
I have now come to that conclusion...Thanks....Baz
Thanks Gary...There have been suggestions my many that it is possible but I am convinced now that without a firewire it is not possible. Baz.
Unfortunately I do not have, nor do I want to install, an ieee.1394 firewire card to my PC. I had one three PC's ago when using a Panasonic camcorder. I have searched all the forums and it seems I am one of many that would like to use the USB output on the Sony but there is no way it seems without the firewire. I think I will bite the bullet and purchase a new camcorder. Many thanks for the advice.
It seems that website advice requires an ieee.1394 input something I had three PC's ago. This camcorder has a USB output but my efforts have been fruitless. The Sony "PLay memories Home" software does not recognise the camcorder yet it does accept the output from the card but that is only for stills. It looks like I might have to purchase an ieee.1394 card or another camcorder. Thanks for the suggestion Tony. Baz
I have a SOny DCR TRV18E camcorder but windows 7 will not recognise it (or PD14)

It will recognise the memory card (which is only for stills)

Is there any way I can get this into PD14?

Can anyone tell me how/where I can obtain/produce a title showing world globe/sphere and a path from country "A" to country "B"? Either graphic or such as Google Earth. Am using PD12 but will upgrade to PD14 if it will help.
Many thanks Carl. That is a great list to have access to.
I am sure I will improve my videos considerably now that I can easily access any or all of those.

Baz.
Many thanks Tony...I have been spending a lot of time with tutorials to refresh my old brain but couldn't find that one maybe I didn't look at PD8!! Have made several videos using digital stills with some degree of satisfaction but just purchased a new camcorder and have a year to develop my skills before a six week cruise including Cherry Blossom festival in Japan. If I think it is good enough I will post it for critique.
Thanks again....Baz
I can't seem to find a tutorial for a title with several bordered images such as a video wall.

Any suggestions? BH
I should also thank Neil (Cubbyhouse).... I did see the toots you mentioned but couldn't make sense of the " previous/next" etc. but have finally made sense thanks to Tony (Ynotfish).

What can I say..... it's easy when you know how!!!!

Many thanks once again Tony.

Baz.
That is pretty much what I want to do but in a simpler manner. In fact it is for a video I am doing for my brother's 80th Birthday, not as professional as the one you did for your Dad.!! The section of the chart is in landscape I will attach a copy. I tried the user-defined method in Magic motion but could not find a way. Then tried PIP Designer with the same result. I know it can be done so meanwhile I will take another look at the "Keyframes and PIP Motion designer" Toot.

Thanks again Tony.
