At other times there has been a error with PD picking up the right installed hardware or a problem with installed GPU drivers. If your system is adequate, a proper clean installation of the GPU drivers often eliminates the render preview issue.
It can also be user inflicted with the manual render preview vs the automatic PD induced.
Jeff
Thanks Jeff for the suggestions. I have however updated the driver for my Intel HD Graphics and all is now OK.
If you're creating a disc where you want viewers to be able to select particular scenes, chapters won't work for you. You need to produce separate titles... in your case (as you've suggested) a separate video for each hole.
In Create Disc, import your 18 produced videos (i.e. titles) and apply a menu. In playback preferences, choose "Play the selected title only" and you're good to go.
This screen capture shows the basic steps:

Thanks Tony but I have no plans for a disc, I want to post it to Vimeo/Youtube and have the viewer select which hole they wish to view rather than go through all 18. I have seen something similar some time ago but can't seem to find it now.
That is very well received advice Robert. I obviously have several options in record mode and I have chosen what I thought was the best option MP4 1080/50p (PAL)
I have been using PD since PD7 and had great results but have only used digital stills. Mainly because of my Super 8 days when I would spend so much time looking through a viewfinder. Now I am using video it is a different ball game so the advice I get here is of considerable help. I will follow up your advice. Many thanks...Baz.
PS: Would it help if I installed Nvidia?
It seems that after updating the Intel HD Graphic drivers all is OK. I have only had a short trial but it seems OK.
Meanwhile what is a shadow file?
As the forum says, I am a "Newbie".
Well that certainly gives me some comfort knowing that I am not alone!!! I am using Intel HD graphics and since your first message I have found that the Intel drivers for their HD Graphics was out of date and I have just updated. So I will inform you of the result as soon as I get a chance to find out.
While playing in the editing process there are irregular pauses while a video clip (or clips) is rendered; eg: a green line appears in the time line. The first time it occured was during a speed change but it does occur at other times.
It has been suggested that it may be a driver issue but I am at a loss to find a reason or solution.
I am always finding new features and projects in DZ and recently found the Express Projects.
These are wonderful features and with so many now travelling the world the Travel projects are no doubt poplular.
However in recent years Cruise ships have been extremely popular yet most of the PIP's and Titles as well as the extended projects all relate to air travel. I am sure that some related to cruising would be well received.
Meanwhile I am extremely delighted with all Cyberlink projects and software....thanks.
Thanks Jirka that makes sense. Will try a few different frame rates and compare results.
I would still like to see a tutorial using a selected part of the clip and using time shift.
I have found some tutorials for speed change that relate to older versions and some that relate to PD14 with different selections to my version that is less than 12 months old. For some reason I cannot find the version number I have in settings.
I would normally record in MP4 1050 50fps but not sure if it would be better to use a fast shutter speed or if in fact it would be detrimental. Typical application would be to slow down a Golf swing or just people movement etc.
Hi all...this is a general question regarding background music. I am looking for appropriate music for the sound track of a video(s) for personal use but can also if required be legal for Vimeo or Youtube. I have used some from my music files in the past without problem but am looking for a wider selection. I have looked through much of the Vimeo music store but find the tracks worthwhile are the ones with a high price tag. Looking through the selection on iTunes could takes forever. There was at one time a smartsound selection via one of the earlier Power Directors. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Hi Anja,
Thanks for the info. I was OK with that but I assume then that there is no difference between Pip tracks or video tracks??. Also the Toot shows to select to fit time line which PD14 does not have. This may not make a difference??
