I have recently upgraded to Power Director 15 Ultimate from PD14. I noticed that the Newblue titlers from PD14 are not shown in my PD15. I have extra Titles in PD14, not just the standard ones.

Is there someway I can still uses the titles from PD14? Do I have to move any files from one to the other? If so where are they stored in both versions?

Thanks!
I have read with interest this posting. I have a similar problem.

Basically I have the Unlead Video studio and now Cyberlink Powerdirector 15. I have a lot of NewBlue FX plugins. Dozens all registered and working in Video studio. Would it be possible to take them from Studio and import them into Powerdirector? Seems a shame to pay twice for the same thing.

I tried putting the .xml files into C:\programfiles(x86)>Cyberlink>shared files>plugins>Newblue nothing shows in Power Director even with 'show all' and restarting.

Suggestions?

Thanks
Quote Hi Frankc1 -

No need to worry. Whatever version of PDR you're using, the SmartSound module will access that same folder - C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc - so there's no need to transfer anything (unless you're referring to a different PC).

If you go ahead & install PDR14 on the same PC, exactly the same tracks will be available.

Also, at SmartSound, under "My Music" you'll see all your previously purchased albums which can be re-downloaded at any time.

Cheers - Tony

Its a bit late but I always try and say thank you. So thank you. I have now upgraded to PD15 it, appears anyway, to be the first PD without any problems (so far).
Talk about timing Indeed thats exactly what I have just done. Just finished uploading changed film and I got your message.

My photobucket links dont seem to like this site for some reason. I can normally place the video link and it works on other sites.

Anyway it works. Now I have to learn how to make a transition template. No doubt Youtube has a video.

Thank you for your suggestions.
Plus one for all the compliments. I have been looking for some decent background music for my videos and they certainly fit the bill.

Really nice. Talented guy.

Add my thank you to the list!
I can usually work out how things are done. But struggling a little with this one. Tried one layer on top of another. Keyframes but nothing is jumping out at me. It is probably something simple but I just love the transition effect. Seen it in fast moving movies as well as stills. You keep the flow but only half the video changes. Clever.

So what am I on about? Easier to show than explain. Jump to 18 seconds. Oh and I am NOT asking how to colour grade.

I was thinking about upgrading to 14 but I noticed that the format via Powerdirector 14 smartsound is different from PD13.

I looked for SDD files on Program Data-Smartsound-Libraries but see nothing like the previous versions. Where would I transfer the SDD files from 13 to the smartsound on 14, I certainly will not want to buy them again.

Any ideas?

Thanks
thanks.

there is always a work around.
Sorry I dont quite understand. If non of the inverse masks work how does using another that does not work help? Can you clarify what you mean by "adjust" another mask?
Sorry no. Tried all the usual. Uninstall-reinstall. Update and various other settings. After spending a week on and off trying to solve this I have decided to give up on it and live with it.
Even when I upgraded the version of PD I still had the problem.
If you do solve it you will get back to us and let us know wont you?
Tony,

Thanks for that! No wonder I could not find it. Got it to work just as I want it to now.

Great reply. Thanks again. Frank C
In a previous version of PD, I have PD12 now, there was a very nice style with a gold background and 'flying' picture frames. It looked really good on a wedding video I did. I cannot seem to find it on my current list of styles or in the download section. I tried finding it again on my old PD10 but it seems to have vanished. I do not mean the one entitled "Picture Frames" that has a Room back ground. The one I am talking about had sort of a golden cog type back ground. Very memorable if anyone has actually used it.

Can anyone tell me how to get it back and what it was called?

Thanks

Just uploaded this pic so you can see what I mean.
Actually its quite easy but a little time comsuming. The very basics. You get your clip of video. Stop it at the frame you wish to put the effect onto. Take a snapshot of it using the tiny camera logo.

Then you find and download this free program. "Fotosketcher" Load your snapshot upto it. First convert the original to a pencil sketch, obviously keeping the original photo too. Save that as say photo B, pencil sketch. Then convert again the orginal photo this time to a colour cartoon or oil painting type save it as C. Original photo we will call A.

Import all three photos into PD12. Put A, the orginal photo, down in track 3 video. B into track 2 and finally C into track one. So you have the orignal video playing until it reaches snapshot A, the original photo. Select it by clicking on it. Then you click 'keyframe' click on 'clip attributes" Select the 'opacity' Add a keyframe at the start of your change. Advance the photo clip to where you want the picture underneath to appear fully. Add a key frame and set the opacity to 0 zero on the bottom photo. So that when the video advances to that point the pencil sketch appears from underneath. From that point you do the same to the last colour frame so that it appears through pencil sketch photo. You are layering the photos one ontop of each other. Each layer becoming invisible as the time line advances revealing the photo underneath. Really the only limitation is your imagination

Ahhh good tip. Thanks
Ok done a search http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29933.page#163871 and this is the nearest I have come to an answer to my question. My question/s is this...

I have strung together 14 video clips to make one long clip. Each original clip has an audio track with it and each track in each clip has a different volume level. So on one clip you had to turn up the volume and the next you have to turn it down. So my question is this..

On the one long clip I made if I go into the 'Audio Mixing room' with the one long clip. Click on 'Normalize' what happens to the long clip? Does it level it out to the lowest volume on the track? What happens with the fade in and fade out with the music?

Thanks.
Audio and video drivers are upto date. Latest version of media player. It loads in previous versions of PD that I still have on my computer so its not my machine that is the problem. After several uninstalls and re-installs trying to sort out other problems that PD presented it still does not like WMV. I had a similar problem with MP4 files with it but after doing yet another un-install and reinstall to sort out Magic Music, or whatever they call it now, it now works/loads MP4's no problem.

No I dont have any Virus or malware on computer. Iorbit, AVG, Malwarbytes, and a few others on my machine have been run several times to check.

I just accept that Power Director in all its forms is very buggy. My latest non working bit is burning discs, ever so problematic. However I have Cyberlink Blue Ray Disc Suite installed and I burn them through that. So its not lack of knowledge or my computer that is the problem.

Every time a new version of Power Director comes out I get it in the hope that the latest version will have the bugs finally ironed out, each time I am disappointed. Sadly the next time I buy video software it wont be Cyberlink. Such a shame as I actually like using the software (when it works) so no update to 12 for me, I am currently running 11. Adobe you have a future new customer.
How did you resolve this problem? I have uninstalled then re-installed several times to get PD 11 to work correctly. Then a new problem pops up. I uninstall and re-install again, problem solved.

But this seems to be a constant problem. Nature.wmv the one that is shipped with pd11 wont load. I think it did at first, then I had sound problems so uninstalled - re-installed. As I said previously uninstalling-re-installing is a pain in the **&* but it works, but has not this time with PD11 own file.

Unlike the original poster I rarely use .wmv files and if I have to I convert them first to mp4 etc then import. It is not the end of the world if I cannot get it to work but it would be nice to sort it.

So did you resolve this? :
After I upgraded to PD12 I sought advice on the forum about transfering smartsounds over to the new version. I followed the advice and it worked. This was what feels like ages ago now, the memory is not exactly fresh.

I now have my smart sounds/music in PD12. I can click on the selection, preview it I can alter the volume etc and drag the music down into the timeline. It automatically adjusts to the length of the clip. Great............... except...

The time line is straight and no sound/music is produced. The line has no waveform. It worked fine in PD11. The music I have on file is complete. It is not a sample. I can drag it onto the timeline, unlike the samples.

What am I doing wrong?
Yes I know that. I did select the text box. It is sorted, as I said before, now. Thanks anyway.
Sorted
I too have a problem with fade in/ out in title designer.

Bascially its greyed out and you cannot select it.

I click on title designer---- Select default title-- Box pops up----- I click on the box to enter text--- I enter some text--- then I go over to the left hand controls to click FADE IN and FADE OUT but its greyed out. I cannot select it. What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks.

OHH I have PD12.
