Just so you know, I tried 2 different clips, one a GoPro MP4 1080/30 fps and the other a 3640x 2160 shot with my Galaxy 5S. In both cases the Fast Video Render and Hardware encoding were avalible and checked.....but again one time only to use FVR and HA.
The reason I'm asking for help is that I made sure I had a half decent video card in my new laptop (I know the 960M is a middle of the ground model) because I wanted faster rendering.....and if it's not able to be used, I kind of wasted money on hardware....
Thanks for everbody's feedback

Perhaps I mis-understood...I thought the driver issue were for the older cards....and I wonder why I can use HA one time if it isn't supported at all...

Kind of funny...my new laptop:
i7-4720
16 gig
GTX960M card/2 gig
1 TB 5400 hard drive
256 gig SSD
When I produce a H.264 mp4 video using HA, the next time I try to use HA I get a message telling me it failed and I need to update my graphics cards driver, update my Quich Time(which I did) or update my Windows Media player. I can render one time and attempt to do the exact same thing two minutes later and get a fail message. If I close and then re-open PD13 I can get my one time HA render back.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Running Windows 8.1 64 bit and PD ultimate....My old setup was Win 7 also 64 bit.
Is there something that I need to setup or switch to utilize all that 16 gigs I just had to have?

Almost all my footage is shot with my GoPro cameras...including some drone time and have had good output results...I shoot 1080 and either 30 fps or 60 frps and have had equal results with both...

Maybe you guys can help....My last laptop had 8 gb and no matter what I did I don't remember ever seeing more then about 4 gb used...even editing video. My new laptop has 16 gb and still see very low usage. What am I missing in needing so much RAM?
Thanks.

uh...a little embarresing...When I was looking for my downloaded/custom titles and such I was looking at all those that were 4:3 aspect ratio which I have little of instead of 16:9...which almost all of mine are...Duh!

Ha Ha....I found the problem....what a suprise it was me!
Once again thank you

I did find the files where you suggested, thank you...but I pasted them in the same place on my new laptop but when I open PD13 they are ignored....I'm open to suggestions...BTW I ran PD13 on my old laptop and all my custom/downloads are still there...

I "wash" my high frame rate GoPro videos thru GoPro Studio software first, where a 1 minute 120 fps clip is exported as a 4 minute 30 fps super smooth slow motion clip. Although you can do simple editing in the Studio software, I then import it to PD13 as a 30 fps clip to take advantage of all the power and features.
Please don't quote this but I think there was a gentleman who said you can set the project frame rate to 60, import a 60 fps gopro clip and then produce as a 30 fps and the resulting clip would be a smooth 1/2 speed clip that could then be imported with other 30 fps clips to produce a movie with smooth slow motion sections....maybe someone can add to this....

I own and use 4 GoPro's for my action activities......using manual correction in post is IMO a art that takes time to master. After playing around some, I decided that shooting in the normal modes was the best for me in just about every instance. It seems that when shooting in RAW everything needs attention, while shooting in normal maybe just one....When shooting in low light, quality does drop off, not sure how much you fix those issues in post anyway...
When using my GoPro as a non action camera, I shoot in 1080 Narrow 30 fps.
