Quote This is an update to my earlier reply 3 years ago to the OP. The price of a usb flash drive has declined over the years. I have found that multiple avchd folders can be created on a higher capacity flash drive. Simply rename the previously created root AVCHD folder to something else and create the next avchd folder. Repeat until the flash drive is filled if you want. There is no restriction in the folder size. One may be 4 GB, the next 52 GB, etc. These work great in my Sony standalone BD player usb connection. I can select which to play, like having a carousel of many Blu-ray discs and having menus and chapters/titles on each selection.

My avchd authoring and BD authoring folders has been 1080/60p avchd 2.0. This may not work for users that do not have the Sony brand higher end players. They definitely don’t work on an early Sony BD player with S-video connection or the older or the cheaper lower end brand players tested.

This all works on BD folders and avchd folders created and played on my HTPC with PowerDVD and with VLC.

I have tried on my LG BD player but doesn't recognise the folders. I must go to Harvey Norman and try a few players. Thanks for the update.

Hi Tomasc,

This is exactly what I did, but as I mention, there is no "usable" file in the folder. I will however try to copy the folder to a USB key and see what happens.

Thank you,

Have a nice day,

Bruno

Have you found a way to produce a series of MP4 files via a PD menu system on a USB?
I was wondering if there is anyone using the Ergo trackball when editing with PD and what button settings you may be using.
My club movie group is currently producing videos about club members and Club history as we reach 75 years old. Started in 1944.
We wish to produce a number of short videos on "old " techniques . No 1 problem though is - how do we video the photographer developing a film or print using a wet process and in red light?

Next week we will start seeing what we can do. Does anyone know the best approach?
Thanks
Brian
Well, I have solved my problem - greyed out menu. I have closed the project. Restarted PD13 and created a new project, the menu is now available. I closed the new project and re-opened the old project and the menu is now available and I was able to pack to another HDD without any need to sign onto the Cloud.

Thanks for this forum.

Quote: Just downloaded PD13 upgrade and noticed that the output and pack Project folders aren't there, but they're in PD12 . When I use "save as" to save the file, it wants to save it in cloud. Can some one explain if PD13 saves files differently and how do I get rid of cloud? I have my own cloud with Google.

I have read this thread and on my PD13 menu there is a "Pack Project Materials " but it is greyed out. Only the Cloud section is available to pack and I do not wish to do this. I am unable to actually pack anything except to the cloud.

I do not have any other issues with the video etc files and storage o- nly how to pack a project materials and save to another HDD.

Thanks Brian

So what do I do?
Hi, not quite a PD10 issue. But I need to embed a PD10 video I have produced into a word/ open office/PDf file. This is for a tutorial that may be emailed rather than a website page. Any help would be appreciated as we have tried for a few hours with no success.
