Thanks Barry

Thanks for the input.

How much is chroma key improved in PD 13? Is it as good as new blue pro chroma key plug-in?

HT
Thanks

the PD toots tutorial is what I needed.

I am making a Wonder Woman movie for my grand kids. One scene has wonder woman throwing a javelin with such force that it catches fire as it passes through the clouds. I am trying to figure out how to do the catching fire part. I remember a tutorial (maybe by Pd toots) that has a rocket in flight going from right to left with a flame behind. This tutorial my help me if anyone can find it for me. Or someone may have an idea how I can do what I want.

thanks,

HT
I could get by with a lower resolution for preview.

Ht
Yes, my drivers are up to date. One other interesting thing. It seems to make no difference in performance when I check enable open CL technology and enable hardware decoding. The project I am rendering is only about 10 min long but will take well over an hour to render. See screen shot in the process of rendering.

HT
Power director acts rather sluggish doing green screen. Is this normal? I have to do render preview to watch in real time. Also render preview is rather slow and even if I click on save after it is done when I open the project at a later time the render preview is lost. I have to do it all over again.

HT
Thanks everyone but my computer tech skills are limited. I don't know how to go to CMD. However, since I allowed windows 7 to try to fix the corruption I no longer have any video in the avchd folder and no longer have a stream subfolder. Only 160KB of information left in the Private folder. What is strange is all my stills are fine in the DCIM folder. If video is irretrievable I can make a slide show out of the stills.

Ht
No the images can not be viewed with the camcorder and a repair attempt by the camcorder was unsuccessful.

HT
I have video files on a Trancend class 10 SD card that are corrupt. Windows 7 asked if I wanted to fix system errors and I clicked yes but it didn't work. Is there any good free software or low cost software that can restore corrupt video files?

HT
Thanks,

I am still fairly new to green screen. Is a garbage matte basically the same as a mask except it is more adjustable? Does the new blu plug in have a garbage matte?
In PD could I use a mask to do the same thing?

thanks,

Ht
I have a curved object that is round like a big ball. I would like to make a title above the object that follows the curve. Is that possible in Pd?

thanks,

Heavytiger
Carl and Ynotfish thanks for trying to help me. I watched both videos but I am trying to do something different.

I am working with two tracks. A background track and a green screen track. The talent in front of the green screen occupies only the center third of the green screen. To have less to key out I thought I could trim the right and left portion of the green screen video I don't need. So I don't want anything moved, stretched, or re-sized. I was hoping there would be an easy way to do this without using perhaps a mask. In other words I want the center third of the green screen video to remain exactly as is while eliminating the right and left thirds. This will let the background show through without needing to use chroma key. Chroma key would only be used for the remaining center third.

thanks, HT
Hi Carl

I want to trim the edges without changing the size. I can't seem to do that.

HT
I would like to crop a green screen video to eliminate some of the green screen on the left and right of the video. In power tools all I seem to be able to do is zoom.

thanks,

HT
Hi Barry

Would you mind telling me what kind of lighting you are using? Are you using all light boxes?

Ht
thanks Barry

Ht
I have only 1 softbox. It is an inexpensive one I got on Amazon from Limo Studio. The set up for green screen seems to be two lights on the screen and 3 for the talent.
Will an inexpensive light with a clip on spring work or will it leave too many hots spots? Do I need 5 light boxes?

thanks,
HT
I am setting up a green screen area in my basement. I have softbox lighting that is fluorescent 6500K for lighting the subject. Can I use 5000K for lighting the green screen or will the slight difference in color temperature cause a problem? 5000K lighting is inexpensive at Home Depot.
