No, I did not! And it seems I never followed up on it even after posting inside of that thread. I will now attempt ynotfish tutorial.

Thanks!
Hello all,

I have CL Ultra Uber Alles Super Duper Everything Director Suite with PD11, Color Director, Ohoto Director, and Audio Director. Not to mention Power2Go 8 Ultra, You Cam, etc etc.

I am really annoyed that every time I start PD, it gives me a pop-up ad to "buy Color Director", or "buy Power2Go", etc.

Is there any way to disable these annoying, senseless pop-ups SINCE I ALREADY HAVE ALL THOSE SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. I'm calm now.
Yep, I am a dummie. So I continue to surprise myself from time to time with a new discovery.

I have used PowerDirector since Version 4. Been all alone on my own up through PD10, until I discovered this forum last year. It's been great, being a part of this forum and learning so much from the members. Thank you very much!

Still, so many of you are very advanced that I think some things are taken for granted. As if any old 'dummy' should know already. hee-hee

Well I just discovered another "Easter Egg" this morning that I thought I would share with the other dummies like me.

I discovered that next to the editing track icons is a slide bar. And when you drag it, the track names appear. Never knew that before! Since PD4!

I have always had to squint to see the icons, and yes over time I have gotten used to where the different tracks are but still I need to squint and double check. But now, gee the lettering for the track names is so vivd and easy to read. Cool!!

I tried the PiP mask and it won't work because it does not have a way to set keyframes so that the movement can be followed.

So it seems this is a hopeless task. Perhaps Cyberlink will in the future make a modification to the Video Crop to enhance its capabilities.
Hi Tony,

I do not want "the rest of the screen to be black". No, I want the entire screen to just be the face, zoomed in. I do not want black areas to be in the screen as well.

What I would like, is if I could set keyframes as needed, to always stay zoomed in on the face, filling the screen.

As it is, with the fixed ratio frame, if it goes off the edge of the screen it creates that black area.

If I could manipulate the crop frame 'free form', I could make it any shape needed (square, rectangle of course) to keep the image filling the screen without getting into the blackness.

Imagine if you will, taking a time lapse series of still images 1/10th second apart. You have 100 images. In your photo editor you zoom in on the face, and set the size of the crop to say, 640x480. Now you crop every photo at the same size, 640x480 while zooming in on the moving object (face). You then import the photos into PD and make a motion video of it.

This is what I am imagining doing similar with Video Crop. Only doing it to a video and not still images via time lapse.

I still have yet to look at the PiP thing.
Quote: If you didn't want the crop to be the same as the project, just add that clip as PIP and then have freeform crop.

I will give that a look. Thanks!
Thanks guys. What I wanted to do in the most recent case is zoom in on a face, and stay zoomed in as the face moves around in the scene. But with the fixed ratio crop frame I cannot.

I would like to be able to make the frame a certain size, and then drag it to where I want it. Just like cropping a photo in a popular photo editing software.
Thanks for the info Cranston.

Where exactly, do I access the 'request' forms.
When I use the video crop tool, I sometimes would like to adjust the crop window differently than the default window. I cannot find a way to disable the default sizing window, or frame. Is it possible to do? Or is this something to ask for in an update?

Youtube will not necessarily block or delete a video if it is found to have copyrighted music on it. Some of my videos from years ago, suddenly got noticed and I got notified that they had "third party content" or whatever they call it. Youtube gives you an option to either acknowledge or dispute the claim.

If you acknowledge it, your video remains but there will be added to it a small box that says "Buy this music track here" and viewers can buy the song if they want. This way, it seems, the copyright holders are getting some free advertising and potentially some sales. And the videos are allowed to stand.

Thank you very much Tony!
Thanks for your thoughts Tony.
I have a question to pose to all interested parties:

Are the SmartSound updates, really needed?

Okay, here is the situation as I see it and as I use it:

I have the default music that comes with PowerDirector. All the various versions of PowerDirector that have included SmartSound, is what I have used over the years. I have never purchased extra music tracks.

Every so often, I will get a pop-up notice telling me there is an Update to SmartSound. And that it includes "xyz" new music tracks. So I install the update. Then I go looking for the 'new' music, and all I have is the same old default stuff.

So my question is this: Do I need to install the updates, if all it is, is in fact a vehicle for me to purchase extra music tracks?

I do not purchase music tracks. So I don't see a need to install these 'updates' that are in fact 'upgrades'.

But if I do not install the so-called update, will my SmartSound featue become unstable or worse, unusable?

Thanks!
Awesome video, very entertaining.

I think you should have toned down the music track though, when the Canon rep was talking and describing the camcorder.
I'm working on a project right now and this is frustrating the hell out of me.

I edit an image, PD4 saves it as a .png and then won't let me continue working on it because it won't re-import it!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo! Really excellent work Pix!
Ah, okay. Now that you pointed it out with an arrow I see it. Thank you PIX.

Funny, that one has to look all over the place for SAVE buttons instead of having them in the same location all of the time.
I do not have a "Save As" button in my PD4. Here is a screen capture. I edited a photo to remove the foreground. Then I clicked on Edit and looked for a Save As button. There is none. I then clicked on File and looked for one there. None. Just like I explained in my original post.

Attached is the screenie showing the Edit window open.
I'll go look again. Previously I had clicked on Edit as well as File as well as Export at the bottom of the window.

Thanks for the reply.
