The File > Save As option has been there the whole time.

I had wanked in the past about the lack of a simple "Save As" function in PhD4. I was frustrated by the only option available to save an image, that being the very circuitous "Export" function.

I had basically stopped using PhD4 because I found it difficult, non-intuitive, lacking several features I have become accustomed too in my very old copy of PS3.

But, and there is always a 'but', I wanted to enhance a photo with the HDR effect in PhD4 which I do like very much. Last night I worked on a photo, and as had been required in the past, I clicked on the FUBAR "Export" function and never managed to get my edited image saved anywhere I can find it. What I did find was a copy of my unedited image placed into the source folder.

So today I went back into PhD4 and edited my image all over again, after first cleaning out the old stuff which PhD4 saves by Default and I also find very annoying.

After editing my image, instead of clicking on Export, for the heck of it, I clicked on 'File' and Lo and Behold! There was a "Save As" button!

I clicked it, and titled my image and it saved it just like it is supposed too. And then I closed PhD4 and it closed quietly without any fuss.

I am THRILLED to see the "Save As' function has now been added and enabled.
Well, I would say you have all the special effects techniques well under hand!
I vote for a Sticky!

These are great tutorials!

Hi Dale,

Surprisingly, DVD is actually low res quality.

PowerDirector has the 'power' to handle those 12MB photos with ease. But you will see better results if you produce to something other than DVD. Such as MPEG-4, or AVCHD/MTS2, heck even WMV. And go ahead and select a hi res output such as 1920x1080. You will end up with black borders with a 4:3 crop. If you could crop your original images to 16:9 than you will not get the black edges.
Is Google Chrome evil or something?
Great footage, wow!
My PD had been performing exceptionally well for many months. I just updated to the latest patch a few days ago.

Today I had a freeze-up. I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL to close the program. Afterward, I could not restart PowerDirector. I had to turn off and reboot my computer in order to start PD again.

This is something many of us went through a while back. I forget now what the solution was.
I have used it, when I wanted an "all in one" solution. I have not noticed any sync issues.

But one of the things I do not like about the YT uploader is that it will only do it in a WMV format.
Thanks for the heads up Dafydd.
Thank you, Barry and Jaime.
YT has now updated it to 1080P.
Alright fella's, you have helped a lot!

I used the Fix/Enhance function and tried it at various settings from 50 to 100. The aliasing is pretty intense at 100, and 65 was not much of an improvement over 50 and the aliasing was still a little too much.

So I settled on 50% and then produced a video at 1920x1080. It's not very sharp, but at least it is not pixelated. It is decent enough to watch and can be watched full screen on my monitor.

Interestingly, the video is on Youtube but YT says it is still 480P. Even so, you can watch it full screen.

Awesome info guys, thanks so much!
I have an old video file from 2008 that is 720x480P. It's soooooo small these days, lol.

I thought I had seen some Cyberlink promos a while back claiming something to the effect of "upscaling"? But I cannot find any reference to it now.

Is there a way to make a video production larger in size without it looking like rubbish?

I produced the referenced video in 1280x720 and it was so pixelated it was just awful.

Thanks!

That's a great tip flatlander!
Wow! Those are awesome! BtC's is outstanding! Cranston's is over the top. I could never imagine myself being so creative. Fantastic stuff!
I noticed you were a little late to the dance, lol...

That lens is a Tamron 70-300 with an amazing image stabilization feature for when you need it.
Thanks Pixie!
I'm in. Where's the sign up at?
