Hi Brent,

I shoot all my video at 60fps and have no issue importing into PowerDirector, my settings for PD are 30fps NTSC, but you do need a high powered system and maybe 1gb graphics card for smooth playing

Robert

Just looked at your computer specs, you have sufficient power and card

Hi Brent,

What have you done with the previous suggestions regarding the Shadow files that I made earlier?

Have you turned them off yet?
If not....Are all the clips in the Media Room ALL tagged with the small green film strip...this indicates the shadow files have been completed.

Answers to these questions will help us.

Hi Brent,

Your ATI driver should be WHQL signed, so it's possible that you have a corrupt driver, which may be causing conflict, try updating your driver.

Robert

Brent, is your hat a genuine Australian Akubra

I have I think done all that was suggested. Including turning on /off the shadow files to make sure they all have the green film strips. Same results - video stops between clips but audio continues.

Robert - Updated drivers 11-7 thru Driver Wizard.
- I bought my hat from a vendor at the California State Fair a cuppla years ago from a guy who sounded Australian and said the hat was from Australia so I guess if it looks and smells like a rose, it's an Aussie Hat. Love it.

Hi Brent,

I have been thinking about your problem....just trying to figure out what might have changed to cause the problem:
You say:
I use PD8 and have used it for around 1 1/2 years. Recently I've had problems with clips I have brought from the library to the timeline.

And you also say you are using:
I'm using PD Ultra 8 build 3022

What build were you using before you patched it with build 3022? Or did you purchase the Full Version of Power Director 8 Ultra build 3022? Or is this a ptched version of 3022...patching a previous build? Do you understand what I am trying to find out? I have read another post where the user patched an OEM version with build 3022 using a Panasonic TM700 video camera and he was having some stuttering problems when creating DVD's.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/13625.page#64268

Could your flow of installed updates be similar?

On another tangent:
Have you tried using any other types of High Definition footage to test on your system to see if you have the same pausing /stuttering result?
I also recall similar reports of stuttering when the transition was reached during playback on the timeline....one person reported a successful outcome when he changed the duration of the transition on the timeline. He lengthened the transition by left-clicking and dragging to change the duration to a longer duration. If I am not mistaken I think it was a Panasonic video camera.
Which transition type are you using in your video or is it a variety of types...? What is the current duration or durations of your transition?

Does your playback stall with two of your video clips placed side by side on the timeline with no transitions?

More questions to try to focus in on the solution to your problem.

Answers to the specific questions in your follow up post will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Kevin

Excellent Kevin.

I'd also like a couple of sample videos (unedited about 5 seconds long clips) attached here please.

Content of sample clips - a simple pictorial scene is much appreciated. I'd also like these clips to be non-consecutive (001 and 005 is ok)

The clips will be analysed and tested by members attempting to replicate and localise the issue.

I'm very much interested in the answers you give to Kevin's questions.

Thank you for the images and data you have supplied to date. I have been monitoring the answers etc.

Dafydd

Kevin & Dafydd and others
My build I believe is the version that came with the software purchased 9-09. I don't recall patching.

Flow of updates similer - Do you mean the drivers?

Other types of HD - Yes. I have my current soccer project that I waited until all clips had the green film . I brought 5 or 6 consecutive clips to the timeline in one test and and in another test, 5 or 6 at random clips. They both had the stoppage between clips after the 3rd or 4th one.

Transitions - none used yet but when I get going on the soccer project, I will be using transitions, titles, imported sounds and music.

Stalls and stops between clips and no transitions.

Dafydd - In asking for video clips, do I copy and paste? One other thought - I have several 10 minute videos on YouTube if that would help. The videos titled "Shock Shock 2, Tourney" etc would be the clips I'll be using in this year's soccer video. Your suggestions on getting you sample clips would be much appreciated.

I can't express to you how much I appreciate your guidance and help. These 16 girls and their families look forward so much to seeing themselves play good and bad soccer. To highlight the bad kicks, I import Homer Simpson "Doh."

Anyway gotta goto a soccer game. Be back in 2 1/2 hours.

I'm asking for a sample from your camera. I'm not interested in a finished video.

Kevin's question: We wanted to know what version of software you purchased - the build number. We were aiming to check what you've upgraded from.

The issue is likely to be concerning the camera and the video footage.

Stick a transition between the clips - what's the result?

Dafydd

Hi guys
Back from soccer. Daughter's team lost.
Regarding the build, I did goto part G and upgraded the latest build. I've attached a screen shot of my version.

Dafydd - need a little more info on the ftp. Part I shows a location. Do I type that in as is? Or do I put my name where it says "HNameme"?
Thanks
Brent

Brent;
Dafydd and Kevin are definitely the ones to follow through with you, however, until they get a chance to connect with you, I suggest that you update to the latest build. I see some discussions above about the actual version you are running, but I know lots of things have changed in recent releases.

According to your image above, you are only using build 2508. The latest code (with many fixes) is 3022. If you are in the USA, http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/support/powerdirector/patches_en_US.html

Hi all
Haven't been able to get onto ftp.gocyberlink.com yet. I've tried anonymous sign in and HNameme with the password. Also, coreftp won't connect. So I'm still trying to get the sample video clips sent out with no success. I am convinced if I had more tech knowledge I would have been able to respond much quicker. Any other ideas?

I thought I had installed the recent build but I had not. My build now is 3022.

Please forgive my non tech knowledge, I'm trying to better understand all that is happening. I am still unable to login to gocyberlink.com. I have some clips ready to go. I used the username as HNameme and the PW as 45Pwd348297. I know that I am not doing something correctly, I just don't know what it is I need to correct.

Also, on 11-11, I did attach a dxdiag.txt but for convenience, I'll attach again. And let me know if there is any other info you need. I'll jump right on it.

Brent;
I have looked at your DXDIAG file and your system is certainly strong enough to handle using PD8 to edit your videos. I run a very similar system (except I use an Nvidia Card). Great to see that you have updated the code to 3022 (does the "Help, About" screen show that it took this time?)

In order to help you, we need a "snippet" of video directly from your camera (unedited). This is a file with the M2T or M2TS extension (is that correct for your camera?). Contact me via PM and I will try and get another location for you to send the file quickly and with less "tech" pain.

From your recent screen capture( http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/downloadAttach/2819.page )
It looks like you have many ~5 second or so videos on your HDC TM700 (that IS the camera we are trying to work on, correct?). Please contact me via PM to get instructions of how we can get this file to CYBERLINK/Dafydd/Et.al

EVERY one of us who have HD/1080P cameras (Mine is an old Canon HF11) have dealt with the issues of different camera manufacturers "flavor" of 1080p implementation. We NEED an original file from your camera to get that soccer team rolling!!!!

Brent -

Have you read this thread? http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/12968

The user, tjmr, uses the same camera - Panasonic TM700. You'll notice, in one of the posts, that a sample clip has been attached to the reply. Note Kevin's & Dafydd's comments.

Re: Camera sample - just record some short clips, transfer them to your PC & attach to your reply.

Not sure what recording settings you're using, apart from 60fps. The sample (above) was recorded in 1920x1080 @17MBps (25fps). I just dropped 10 of them into the timeline & they played through without any hiccups - audio & video played smoothly.

More than adequate PC (you did update your GPU driver?). Latest build (now). Known issues with PD & Pana TM700. It's looking more like a clip issue.

Cheers - Tony
