Fred & Tony
Thanks for your input.
Tony - the url you provided would not open. Is there another way to get to it? I'll try your suggestion of just copying the clips to my hard drive. I thought about doing that but din't know if it would work.

Fred - Help about reflects 3022
- Not sure yet about the ext. Will followup & advise
- The camera HDC TM 700 is correct
- Not sure what's meant by contacting you via PM. Glad to do so.

I have 10 clips in my sample to send that I have copy and ten tried to past into a file so I could attach it to a post. But I don't have the paste option in trying to do that. Any ideas?

Brent -

Just 2 will do.

In your reply, click Attachments - then Browse - locate the first clip on your PC - double click.

Now click on Add another file & repeat.

Cheers - Tony

Brent,
you are not making this any easier....you attached .pds files and you should be attaching virginal video clips from the camera.
PDS files are just "instructions, roadmaps" to tell the computer and Powerdirector how to re-assemble your project.
We need 2 short untouched video clips from the camera. Without those, you are going nowhere slowly.
Focus, Man! Focus!

Tony;
Is there a size limit on file attachments here?? I was going to help Brent find another way to send the files, but if this site allows larger files he should follow YOUR instructions.

Hi Fred -

Yes - some time back (I think after the forum engine had a makeover) the size limit was no more. There have been attachments of 30MB or so, as I recall.

I thought the attachment idea would be better, since the ftp instructions weren't working!

Cheers - Tony

Hmmm Barry - virginal videos. I'll see if I can locate some.

Yes, attachment certainly seems easy, but I have heard folks saying they can't figure that out!

I am attempting to attach his native files HERE: Thanks to Tony, I know how to do that!!

Sorry you are so frustrated but I take serious offense that you think I am not focused. I was up early both mornings this weekend, spent hours upon hours trying to comprehend this foreign language (as I have since my initial request for help) in a very short period of time. I guarantee that the moment I figured out some sense of your phrases, I responded. In addition to this weekend, I also spent as many hours as I had available during the prior 2 weeks to focus on learning this new language. I took 4 years of French in high school then 2 years of Spanish in college, so I do have some willingness to learn.
Now that I got that off my chest, I think I just sent 2 clips that are in the .m2ts format. Be advised however that the majority files in this project and all others that I'm working have .con and .tmb forrmats. Thanks
Brent

Brent...I have placed the files you sent in my post (above). This will allow the experts here to get their hands on them and solve the problem.

I am attaching the produced videos here (an h.264 AVC version, and MP4 version, and a MPEG2 version). I did see some delays and "hiccups" in the preview window, but the produced videos looks GREAT!

The preview window is just that, a preview...I am sure Cyberlink has heard us ALL lament about the issues there and are working to resolve and program incompatibilities regarding HD videos (as we speak!)!!!

Now let's see how the team here can help with the issues you have. Will someone see how this comes out with PD8???

Dafydd;
Sorry to fill the forum with these large files, but I thought it would help Brent see the chain from end-to-end. Take the bytes used off of my allotted quota... if I GET one..

Brent - as Barry said - don't take it too seriously. Sometimes people like to horse around & be silly, especially when they're trying to solve a problem.

Fred - excellent backup support. I'm sure Brent appreciates it.

Barry - great cheer leading. I'm still hunting for those vidz.

Cheers - Tony

Hi all,

Just thought I would add my 2 cents. I certainly don't have the experience in video filming but I do like to troubleshoot. I downloaded the clip 054.m2ts and it played well in Windows Media Player, played poorly in PD8, produced a wmv and mpeg2 test file and it played great in both of those formats. HP Envy 17

Hmmm...

Placed the clips several times on the timeline.....and they played back with varying success. Sometimes they played smoothly and other times they began to stutter when it hit the second clip on the timeline. I was also checking and unchecking "hardware decoding" in preferences in "hardware acceleration" to see if that made a difference. It definately got worse when my graphics card was removed from the playback equation. But basically it played back good enough for me to edit and add transitions.

It didn't overload my CPU, which hovered around 10% - 15% during playback. My graphic card was running at between 0% & and 10% during playback. And my memory usage was at 50% of my 6 gigs of Ram. So nothing really taxed my system to point the finger at hardware as the cause of the stuttering in my case. The only thing that is different for these clips from mine is frame rate (60 fps) and bit rate (24Mbps). I sure do like the increased bit rate....it is certainly better in quality.

Now I am still using the beta version of PD9 build Build 2215...and my preview setting was set to the highest level it could go(classified :wink. I also produced the file to an AVC h.264 @ 190X1080 24Mbps bitrate(same as the original) and it looked great to me!

Because of the frame rate (60fps) SVRT was not an option for me. Is that correct? The 60 fps keeps the SVRT option from working?

My conclusion is that most of the problem with the clips is a result of the 60 fps, at least on my rig. I can play my Sony 1920X1080, 30fps, 17000 Mbps with no stuttering...unless of course my project gets really big or I have multiple video tracks full of content.

Brent can you change any of the settings in your camera? Can it be changed to 30 fps or is that not an option? I am not that familiar with the camera.

I hope this helps....I don't know if there is a fix for you with your PC or drivers. And I can't explain why the problem recently occurred for you. The only thing I can think of is that you might have made a change to your camera settings? Probably unlikely, you would have thought of that. But worth mentioning.

Kevin
