In my opinion: Installing a beta patch is at your own risk, back up your data where necessary. A beta patch is not for the novice/newbie user and should be installed only by those who are experienced in computer use/problem solving.

Yep, I had that too Bhajje. I've asked for the link to be checked. I checked the url and it was the same as I received. There is no additional "." in the link etc.
I'll amend when I can, it might be to do with the file not being uploaded etc.

In Preferences>Produce, at H264... what's the checkbox setting "WMV: Produce WMV video with Speed Mode" doing?
I don't remember seeing it before.

Not sure what it is, it was in the last beta too and I played with it there. Very fast 5x type stuff but not sure why. CPU load appeared about the same, GPU load not utilized, effective transcoding from other formats too so not a SVRT type for WMV files.

Just a followup to my comments on previous locked beta thread http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/46732.page "Sounds like release note: "Fixes the distorted video seen when previewing and in the produced video, if OpenCL is enabled for specific VGA cards."

I did take out a support ticket, CS001555175, and was in contact with CL support since 12/23 when I submitted OpenCL issue with Nvidia GTX650. I've replied and answered all questions in a timely manner, no resolution and no feedback since 1/4.

hmm, maybe lesser quality, like single pass vs two pass?

I wouldn't think one could get ~5x improvement out of single or multipass. As a reference, my other encoders that support multpass and single (non wmv) don't see anything near that ratio difference. At the time, I played with a couple of tougher encoding tasks like water ripples, grass blowing, tree leaves shimmering, visual quality to me looked about the same with this set of eyes. I only considered the high end wmv profiles so not too exhaustive of a look.

Hi Dafydd,

I'm a Power Director user for years. I come from the PD13 version which was pretty stable. Unfortunately I meet a lot of stability problems with PD 14, with a recurrent "Kernel security check failure" auto restart. The laptop starts to ventilate strongly and endlessly until I force the switchoff.

My device is an Asus 751 I7, GTX 860M, 16Gb ram, 128Gb SSD for the system and 1 000Gb SSD for the files, Windows 10.

I've downloaded the last beta patch v2506 without any improvement. At this point the soft is unusable on my laptop. Any help ?

Probably not a beta specific issue for this post, this link should answer your issue though http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/47060.page#244471

Dear JL_JL,

Thanks a lot for your help.
Since I came back to the nvidia driver 359.00 it seems to work correctly.
Thank you again ;
