Thanks for your help!
The BD continues to burn...
|
|
woah it seems to be working
All I did was set the thumbnail duration from 60 to 15 sec and kept the Video Thumbnail checked
There is also a unchecked box labeled Auto timeout. What is that?

Jeff
I saw where it goes to hard drive folder.
I got the same error messages.

Jeff
By "burning to a folder", do you mean burning a folder and its contents onto a BD..or a folder on the computer's hard drive?
Please please recommend a "real" authoring software.

I only have 24 chapter thumbnails
Not sure what VTS means
I really haven't added anything fancy to the menu. I am using one of the original templates.
Please help. I really wanted to give this to the client before leaving on a trip tomorrow.

Hello again!
My third time through the program and still trying to work the kinks out.
I get the following error messages:
1. Menu memory may exceed 1 Gig (now how do I know this!?!)
or
2. Number of chapters may exceed limit
Now why would there be any limits on this program..unless the BD discs themselves have limits

Thanks guys! You're amazing!
I changed the aspect ratio to 4:3 but was surprised to see that I needed to restart the project. Or was I surprised? ; )

Hello again
I continue to enjoy this program immensely ; )
I burned a DVD of a 4:3 dv video and the result had letterbox bars and black bars on both size, resulting in a smaller version of the video. Is there a setting in PD7 that I overlooked?

This is another peculiarity of PD. PD will happily accept different music selections for each of the different menu pages, but it does not like a menu page with no music. If you want to have menu pages without music, and without the hassle of deleting the music each time you open a saved project, try creating a recording of a few seconds of silence, and put that in as the background music for the relevant pages. That should satisfy PD because there will be a "music" track for each page, and these silent tracks should be saved when you save the project.
Robert
Ah ha...thank you for confirming that strange quirk and providing a neat solution.

I'm so glad I got you guys talking again.
Yea, you just like the Subject title...
For the record, when I reloaded my "saved" Template, the music associated with the original Template came back in the Chapters menus where I had purposely left blanks.
Also, I decided to burn a second BD-R because of the 350% burning message and wouldn't you know, it eventually completed successfully!
So the first one I canceled too soon. Very nice to know in the future.

Alot of this stuff is trial and error. I wish I had time to sit down with the manual but alas I do not. Would it save me time in the end; probably not. I just do not know the right questions to ask. I am new to PC editing. I have used non-pcs for 18 years.
How would I know that it would be difficult to change text unless I re-saved a template first? Only the Forums members knew. Even the Cyberlink techie got it wrong when he answered my plea.
Nothing against Robert. He assumed that I had already chosen a Layout Buttons icon and re-saved a template; otherwise, changes cannot be made in the Authoring mode.
Thanks to this forum, my road to HD is almost complete.

Thanks Guys
First of all, I am doing a Pro bono wedding just for the purposes of ironing out all of the details from start to finish.
Being able to change the words "My Videos" hopefully was the last high hurdle in a long two month process I have been going through.
Robert, your suggestions only work once the Template chosen is re-saved under a different name. Otherwise, "My Videos" and Background music keeps reverting back to its original form.
James, the AVCHD footage, would hang up when I tried to set chapters. Someone at the Sony Vegas forum suggested I purchased UpShift to help decompress the file somewhat. Seemed to work. Also, I downloaded ffdshow which also seemed to help with file processing.
I successfully burned a blu-ray today. At least, I think I did. I was away from the office and when I came back, the burning process was at 350%!
I clicked Cancel and it showed up "Complete"
Just in time because my first HD paying customer is this week!
Thanks again!
Jeff

Thank you for your quick replies, Gentlemen. If you knew what I have gone through during this HD conversion...well, you just wouldn't believe it.
But I beg to differ on "making basic errors". I upgraded to PD7 ultra from Cyberlink Suite based on their marketing of it being able to do Blu-Ray and 5.1 sound authoring. Not being able to do multi-level chapters is just outrageous. I already have an editing program called Sony Vegas and I bought this Ultra just for dvd authoring.
And now you're telling me I need to buy PowerProducer or some other product from Cyberlink if I want true dvd authoring?
Also, I didn't know that I needed to consult with Forum to work this program properly. Clicking on Layout buttons, then Modify template and Saving file just to edit the text is quite a stretch for a Newbie to this program.

|
1. This program cannot handle AVCHD files very well so I bought a program called UpShift to convert files to MPEG2
2. Then I find out, after going round and round with the stupid communication process that Cyberlink has, that PD7 does not support Mulit-level DVD menus - You have to purchase PowerProducer for that! What a scam!
3. So finally I am almost finished with my first HD wedding and I come to find out that all DVD templates created have the same text: My Videos, Play and Chapters -- and these seem to be unmodifiable!!! In fact, the cut icon is shaded out! So I click New to make my own and what do you know...I have to use "My Videos" This program is a joke! So the bride and groom have to have a wedding video that says, "My Videos"
4. Finally, I can't seem to change the music associated with pre-built templates. I mean, why is there a MODIFY button if you can't make the necessary changes?!?
Please Please If you have a solution to the above, or you agree with the above, let me know as soon as possible - Thanks!

|
If you want to make a different type project where actions and chapters are split you'd need to use PowerProducer.
Dafydd,
Could you explain in detail re: your last sentence?
Jeff

Hello
You may be right! I think just having the program (or whatever it is) on the hard drive might be the "fix". It seems to be working now!
Unfortunately, I have to leave the office for several hours, but when I return I hope to burn a Blu-Ray disc later tonight!
Thanks!
Jeff

The original files came from Sony AVCHD HDR-XR520V
The video was rendered through Sony Vegas Pro8
There is a VFW configuration and a Video decoder configuration. Which one do I use?
There is also an Export All Settings button. Will this install Codecs for me?
I have no idea what I'm doing here?
|
|
Ok
I have FFDShow. Please help with details. Are these codecs auto-installed? Is this another video converter program?
How do I use this thing?
Am I encoding or decoding?
I have an .mts file and I want to make it work in PD7. Please help!
