Hi matthiasscorp,
That is ok. We have people from all over the world and not all are English native speakers.
Looks like we need to study your computer to assist. Please follow the steps below:
1. Download the attachment "CLTracker_v1620.zip"
2. Unzip and run it.
3. This tool will save all needed info on your desktop as "CyberLinkLog.zip".
4. Upload this file and we will study that.
ps:
1. This tool only records all needed info of your installed PhD and nothing else.
Regards,
Brandon

Hi matthiasscorp,
1. May I know your PhD install path?
2. Did you install PhD under an "UNICODE" account name?

Hi matthiasscorp,
Few things need your clarification:
1. Cannot install or cannot launch after successful installation?
2. I'm assuming your issue did not happen with the Beta build. The problem comes when you tried to install the free copy with the existence of Beta in your computer.
This might not help, but pls try:
1. If you cannot launch your application, open "Task Manager" and check if your intended app is already running. If yes, kill the process and relaunch your app.

Brandon

Hi wjr002,
Thanks a lot for the upload. I can see your issue now.
I tried to append a character 'a' to the copyright field in file property in Windows Explorer without changing anything else. Then imported to PhD, 'BILL_RODGERSa' is displayed in Copyright. -> Doesn't look like character set issue to me.
I also tried copying the copyright string from file property in Windows Explorer and paste it into notepad. Then copy it from notepad back to the copyright string in file property in Windows Explorer. The Copyright field in PhD can also show expected content correctly.
This is odd. I've reported your issue to the product team for further investigation.

Brandon

Hi Samuel,
1. You can use Shadows slider in Tone to retouce your picture globally.
2. Did you use ZIP in compression method? By the way, PhD only exports photo into 8 bits/channel file.

Hi wjr002,
Yes, PhotoDirector should show the copyright field in metadata, if there is data in there. Does Windows' file property show anything in the copyright field?

Hi Bluebear2,
Not sure if I get this right:
1. Click on the + (Import photos into the library). Select Import Photos...
2. Choose Select Some Photos....
3. "Ctrl" select the photos you want in your sorted folder.
This won't create a new library but only adding your individually selected photos into your library.

Brandon

Hi DDL_CGY,
1. I reported to the product team and will update when feedback is available. I can see your behavior.
2. Yes, the Shadows slider applys globally. One thing I use to apply local region is to use Adjustment Brush to "paint" on the over/under exposure area and use Exposure to retouch locally. Just my preference.

Per request, here comes the official statement:
If you have PhD Beta installed, just double click on the full build's installer. The full build installer automatically detects an earlier version (Beta) is installed and asks if you would like to uninstall the old one. Just say yes and the full build installer will remove the old build and installs the new build.

Hi Samuel,
1. I guess your under-exposure area lost details. If yes, try use Adjustoment Brush to "paint" on the under exposure area. Then play with settings in Tone. If no, what are you trying to accomplish?
2. What's your original tiff file size? Maybe you can upload it and we can help check.
