Thanks for your suggestion. That suggestion works perfectly when I'm in the "edit" section of PD 16. However, when I'm in the "Create Disc>Menu Preferences>Menu Designer or Modify Menu" section, when I click on the photo, I cannot highlight it, and, the Object Properties Box does not appear. Any ideas??? Thanks again for your help. I'll look at the PD Toots Tutorial too.
I've experienced the exact same problem using PD 16. I couldn't find a way to fix it, but ... I found a way around it. I create a whole new menu, from scratch using the "Create menu" option. I only include a single background photo, a title, and a "play" button. When I do the preview, the fade-in and fade-out is NOT present. Hope this helps.
I receive this error message while attempting to burn a bluray disc, using PD 13

"Burning unsuccessful. Error code: eEB190E82"

I'm burning at the lowest speed. PD13 almost finishes (it gets to the 9%% level in the burning process), and then hangs up. I hear the bluray disc rotating, but after awhile I get the message. I've tried it 3 times. I have burned this exact movie before using the exact version of PD13, exact same computer and exact same burner. I do not know of anything that has changed.

When I burn the exact movie to a DVD (not Bluray) using same computer, same burner, same PD13 it all works fine.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Many thx, Bob
Ronal, Thx a lot for your reply about HD 5850. I'll give it a try!
I note in the 'Requirements' page for PD9 that Radeon HD2600, Radeon HD4600 series, Radeon HD5600 series, and Radeon HD6800 series cards are all PD9 compatible. I want to buy a computer that had a Radeon HD5850 card. Is the Radeon 5850 compatible? Will I be able to use the True Velocity accelerator? Thank you for your reply.

When I try to caputure video from my Canon HV20 camera, PD 7 Ultimate gives me the following message.

"You cannot use the capture function because the iLINK mode on the HDV machine is not identical to the recorded format on the tape. Please check the tape status or make sure the contents of tape is HDV format and then reconnect the iLINK again"

I set all the HDV playback settings correct (as discussed by someone else in this forum), before connecting the computer and the camera, via the Firewire.

In the past, I was able to properly connect and capture video using this camera, and PD version 6, using my old computer. Unfortunately my old computer died. My brand new computer (a HP Pavilion laptop) runs Vista Home Premium 64bit, and has 4 Gb of memory.

I believe the problem is with one the drivers. The drivers are provided as a part of the Vista operating system. The Canon HV20 driver uses the files:

avcstrm.sys, ksthunk.sys, mstape.sys, and msdv.sys.

The device manager tells me that the drivers are up to date. On the Microsoft web site I found that one of these files (I believe avcstrm.sys) had a problem with computers with 4 Gb or more with the older Windows 2000 O/S. I don't know if this problem was fixed.

If anyone could help me with this, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Please ... I'm going crazy .......

Oh, BTW, I also tried other video capture programs, such as HDVsplit. they don't work either.

Bernard,

Thank you for your response. I followed your instructions, and, the audio track for the menu now plays for 99 seconds.

Regards,
Bob
Paul,

Thanks for your response. I'll live with it, it isn't that big of a deal. Now I can stop wasting my time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Bob
All,

Just before I burn a DVD (using Power Director, version 6, with all the latest patches), I select a menu, and, then add an audio track. This is the audio track that will play, while showing the master DVDvmenu. The default time for playing this track is 15 seconds. When I specify a longer period, and, then save the settings, Power Director, doesn't "remember" the setting. Thus, when I burn the DVD the audio only plays for 15 seconds.

Is this a bug in the program, or, am I doing something wrong? Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Bob
