To add to this issue.. I've dealt with this since PowerDirector 14 and now been using 15 for the past year.
Not to hijack
Windows 7
Intel i7 6700k
RX480
Samsung EVO 960 m.2 drive
No reason to have issues. Brand new updated nothing else windows 7, random crashes at random times Been like this forever. Windows 10 the crashing does NOT occur.

- Ensure that you are contacting the same web site that you purchased the app from. DigitalRiver is usually their sales outlet but yours may be different.
- If you created a member account your software purchases are listed there as well.
It was bought directly through the Cyberlink website and yeah my purchases are listed. I had a mod reach out to me this morning. So hoping to get resolved soon.

I have a small YouTube channel. I recently restored my computer Says to contact customer service when I enter my key (I bought back in decemeber 2016 direclty through this site) Okay sure, created a ticket no responce by next day. I call them said they will reach out and I should hear a responce shortly now going on 3 days.... I have 3 videos I need to create and cannot. What the heck support? How much longer am I going to have to wait for them to actually work on my case? Its to the point that Im going to have to buy the software again just to use it...
Somewhat off topic:
I have several issues with power director reliabity wise to the point I have to save every 5 min or so just in case it crashes (which seems extremaly common with everyone) I only stick with it due to usability and how easy it is to use. Other video editors I have bought in the past and or trails work 100% no freezing etc, just not as user friendly as PowerDirector. I just hope they get there stuff together.
For my somewhat off topic post specs in case people want to know.
Intel Core i7 6700k OC'd 4.7GHz
16GB ram
250GB Samsung 960 NVMe
250GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD
128GB Sandisk SSD (Mac Drive)
1TB WD HD
2TB WD HD
AMD RX480

Sorry, out at a black tie dance!
Shadow files are proxy files for low spec systems/hd video. Switch on and off in preferences.
If used the green film icon bottom left must be green otherwise the y don't work properly.
Switch them off and try editing without them.
Happy New Year.
Cheers
Adrian
Thanks again for the tip, Still having the exact same issue! Even did a clean install of Windows 7 earlier. Still same issues

Hi,
I note from the screen cap that you are using shadow edit files and that (at least) one present in your timeline (IMG_5870.mov) has not been rendered fully. The icon is yellow not green. The timeline scrubber is also positioned part of the way through this clip on the timeline, presumably when the crash occurred. All shadow files used in the timeline must be fully rendered to make editing effective.
3 things :
Make sure all shadow files used are fully rendered.
It it necessary for you to use shadow edit files at all?
Have you tried editing without them?
Cheers
Adrian
thank you for the reply! The crash occurred as I was cutting some of the video. What do you mean by shadow files?
Thank you

I've been using PowerDirector since v12. Recently got back to using it and bought V15.... STILL have the SAME issues as before. I'm now on crash number 5 trying to video edit a video for 2017. On going thing for a long time and tonight its really agrivated me.
This happend on my Previos build from 2013-mid 2016 AMD FX-8350 and now it STILL happens on my new build a Intel i7 6700k.
Specs:
6700k
16GB Ram
SSD
Radeon RX480 8GB
Way more than enough for the video editor to not cause issues. This happens also on a CLEAN install of Windows 7 with nothing other than lastest drivers, windows updates and Powerdirector 15
Granted this does NOT happen with any other video editor whatsoever! ONLY with PowerDirector. But sadly PowerDirector is the only video editor I'm extreamly famulure with. And with editing so easy and quick its awesome, but its annoying for it to randomly crash even after being open for under 5 min and a few video edits that went unsaved...
What can be done about this?
