Quote: sounds good so far...now I wonder about SLI mode...

Well I can now tell you that SLI makes no difference, as it was in 11.
sounds good so far...now I wonder about SLI mode...
Does one need to activate some codecs in PD12, as we had to do in 11, and does sli mode work in PD12 for the added rendering ?

Perhaps I am not understanding your intent.

But if a clip is split on the timeline - at the beginning and end of where the speed is to vary - the controls will be enabled for that segment of the clip, and the changes will be applied only to that area.

perfect !, now I have the answers..and a much better idea of what is happening to the frames.

Thanks to you both...

Hi kingsmeadow,
RE: "... I cannot get the frame speed options to show up,"
There isn't one to show. PDR11 relies on frame duplication to expand the time the clip displays. The number of frames replicated depends upon the space/time you want the clip to fill.

Thanks for that, now I understand,,I will continue with a clearer picture
I have parts of a video that I want to alter the frame rate such that it plays back much slower. I have done this in the past by copying the clip in question and modifying it as a separate video clip and then inserting back in the main movie. This is quite time consuming and requires quite exact positioning in the movie. I wonder if there is a way of modifying the clip in situ. When I try I cannot get the frame speed options to show up, Wonder if anyone has done this....
I have installed this driver on a win 8 and a win 7 using the normal express and all is ok
I'm using Win8 Pro, and it installed and ran perfectly ..
I think you will find that Blue Ray will render just fine,,,does on my system, which is a slightly earlier version of yours...
Found the problem, it was Intel Quick sync..which is activated through Virtu MVP, if I disable it,,slideshows are created perfectly.
Now I am really puzzled as it works perfectly on another PC !
I must be missing something fairly basic...

I have just been trying to make a simple slideshow and although I can produce a video,,I cannot make a disc or folder

When I in the create mode PD11 does some cpu work, but then stops and the program just sits and sits...I also cannot cancel, I have to resort to killing it off, which is not very nice, in my opinion.

I am puzzled....
Quote: RonH ,

That is correct. Most of us do not use HA because:

- the difference ion render times is marginal
-

Don't know your PC specs, however I get about 300% difference in rendering times. I hasten to add that is with mp4, other rendering options may vary considerable. A bit more than marginal wouldn't you say
Quote: Here is a good article from PC World magazine comparing 7 and 8's performance. Granted it was done for gaming, but the benchmarks they used are the standard ones for testing a operation system.

You may be surprised to find out that Windows 8 is only marginally better than Windows 7 and in some aspects the same or not as good.

I ran Win 8 Beta when it first came out, and of all the applications I ran,, none were any better than Win 7...on my machine. When the released version came out, I upgraded hoping for improved performance...I am still hoping , And the Metro is a pain for a standard desktop user, so I installed the "classic startup" as soon as it was available. And now you can barely detect which is Win 7 and which is Win 8...
Quote: please see attached files sir, the details of MP3 that i import..

** MP3 files cannot import to PD11 and M4a format can work.

Excellent !! And that is one of the bitrates that DOES NOT work in PD11, so this can be sent to Cyberlink along with others who have had this mp3 issue.

One thing I find very odd is the size of that file for such a short duration. I wonder if anyone has any ideas.
Quote: Helo guys... I just want to share other way if the MP3 is not working, lastnight i try to use cyberwave to convert the MP3 files to m4a format the quality of MP3 is same to M4a..and its work for me.. so, so far i use this alternative and waiting for another patches that MP3 files can used and impport to PD11..

Thank you guys..

It would be very helpful if you could tell the forum the details of your MP3 files that don't work. Just right click on the file and select properties, and then details..There you will see the bitrate, which would be very useful, and also the length and size.

These forums have helped thousands of users like myself to learn more about PD11 and get the excellent results that it is capable of delivering and your contribution would only add to that ever growing knowledge base.
Quote: as i said at the above sir, ALL MP3 files that i import is does not work.. but when im using wav files its work.

Nothing wrong with PD11 and most MP3 files...I just imported 15 MP3, with various bit rates and not one of them failed. However it could be that a certain bit rate might fail...if you could check your MP3 details and tell us what the bit rate is, that might tell us something.

I think 32kbps is a problem as discovered, if the file is re-sampled it works fine.. I confirmed it on my setup
tlb27,,while you are waiting I wonder if you could try this ...open task manger and select Performance. This graphic will show you how your resources are being used during any operation. Then open PD11 and do your splits and watch this task manger and see what happens. I just did a quick experiment using split and my memory started at 15% and never moved ! I would be very interested to know what yours does.
Quote: don't have the option to boot from CD/DVD in bios.
Calling Dell tomorrow, will explain all this and see what they can come up with.
..will post what I learn from Dell...

I never heard of a system that couldn't boot from CD...but as your test showed no problems with the ram test you did, I think your right in trying to get this sorted with Dell. I have lots of pals using Dell and they all seemed ok, but I don't think anyone of them used PD11. Let's hope for a positive outcome. As a matter of interest what Version of Win 8 is this ?
Quote: Kings, is there any way that you could tell me how to do a ram test? Again, not a "nuts and bolts" guy...
Thank you

http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57342679-285/how-to-test-your-ram-in-windows/

That link has the info on how to download a ram test utility. You need to make a bootable cd from that in Win 8 and then boot from the cd to do the test. try that and tell us what happened.
Quote: Ok, got the text file zipped up this time and attached. As far as "Part A":

11.0.0.2516
SR#: VDE 130107-01

Is this what you folks are looking for?

I'm thinking as well that this might be a RAM issue. As I stated earlier, it starts out fine and gets progressively worse. I'm not a computer "nuts and bolts" guy. Is there a way to direct my machine and tell it where I would like for it to concentrate on "spending" it's RAM?

Can't thank you folks enough...

I wondered about a ram issue as well,, however it does seem you have plenty and the overall spec looks quite good to me. I wonder if it's worth doing a ram test to see if your ram is all working ? There is something not right here. I have a Win 8 setup and it all works perfectly, and in fact some options better than Win 7.
