Hello, my PD 16 is running ver slowly while editing.
Every click I make takes a second or 2 to process
and when I hit play on a clip, the video freezes for a
a second as the audio plays ahead of it then the video
accelerates to catchup.
This is really increasing my edit time badly.
I have a gaming class PC windows 10 with 32 gb of ram.
How can I stop this slow down?

P.S. Hardwear acceleration is off

I lost 3 more projects today.
Please I hope this helps you tell me what is wong.

Thank you for supply screenshot Cyberlink 003.jpg for your AutoSave directory path. It is the same path as in the screenshot Cyberlink 001.jpg for your Project folder. This is wrong. The two-directory path cannot be the same or else the AutoSave will delete the oldest projects in the same folder as you have found.

You changed the default autosave path. To keep this from happening again you need to change the autosave directory path back to the original.

If you don’t remember the original default path for the autosave path then you can create a new one and browse to it as you did in Cyberlink 003.jpg

I have done as you instructed.
Even with autosave off, it deleted projects.
I will comment agian once I can confirm weather or not this solves the issue.

Quote Hi,

In 10 years or so I can't recall an instance similar to the one you describe and it is obviously not an issue affecting others, as it has not been reported on the forum.

So, it seems to be something specific to your setup and operating environment.

As I understand it, everything was functioning as expected until you upgraded to PDR16, so what version were you using before?

Can you supply the exact version of PDR16 you have? Use the Help>About or click on the PowerDirector logo top right of screen.

Can you supply a screen shot of your project folder?

Could you also detail exactly what steps you take to load, edit and save a project?

Are you saying that you now have 18 projects in your folder and everytime you save another, an older one is deleted?

Can you attach your DxDiag. [https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/63543.page#post_box_289538]

We need to understand exactly what is happening when you work with PD, particularly to see if it is directly relating to the PDR16 upgrade or if something else is involved.

I had 20 saved projects this morning, but as soon as I exported the video I was working on (whose project was saved to the same location) It deleted 2 of the oldest ones making the count 18 again.
Before upgraging I had PD15.
"Are you saying that you now have 18 projects in your folder and everytime you save another, an older one is deleted?"
Yes. It seems to happen at random times through (as far as I can tell).

I start PD16, import video files, slipt them in the timeline, put them together as I need to, save the project by clicking the save icon and giving the project a file name saving it as a PowerDirector Script, finally I export to seperate destination folder.
Quote Hi,

Please give members some more detailed information.

Before upgrading, where were you saving your project files?
and
Were you using Save or Save as and choosing your own location?

Did you take any backups of your project files?

Did you ever use the Pack Project function?

Have you checked what is in the Autosave folder as set under Preferences>Project?

Cheers

I can't save projects anymore with out losing others.
What is causing them to be deleted?

I was saving to a custom location.
I don't think I ever used the feature you mentioned.
Autosave folder only has 4 of the missing 467 missing projects.
Was using Save.
It keeps deleting my projects and will only save 18 of them at a time before deleting the oldest ones.
This is intollarable. I've lost every project I've ever made and contenue to lose them.
Please HELP!

Quote When I edit a video it's usually pretty smooth. Now I can't put 5 seconds worth of video in the timeline before it starts struggling. My PC is enough to handle it:

i7 6700k
6GB 1060
32GB DDR 4

I can't think of what's causing it. The only thing I remember is that is started to become slow after I updated the Geforce drivers but don't think it is related. Also the preview window is very slow too and as I said already this hasn't happened before. What can I do?

Thanks

Likewise. Every action now take 1-2 seconds to process no matter how small. I'm scared of a sudden crash making a stressful editing experence. I can't edit with accuacy.
I tried reinstalling and it didn't work.
I will update this comment with attempted solutions as I try them.

Sounds good. Hope it's a simple fix

Try disabling Hardware Acceleration. It may help.

Thanks that helped things but it's always been on and hasn't caused issues before.

Glad it's helped.

Maybe HA is clashing with your updated G force drivers

Confermed.
It's G Force.
My second computer (same specs) has PD16 too, but has not been updated to latest drivers and is not having this issue.
Disabling HA solves the issue.
Thank you so much!

I was just looking at my projects folder and almost everthing had been deleted!
I upgraded to 16 on 1/2/2018 and made videos and saved after doing so consistantly every day, but now there is NOTHING older than 2/16/2018.
Everything before that was deleted!
I can't trust the program to save my projects.
That's not good.
What can I do to recover my projects and prevent this in the future?
I run Windows 10 with 32 gb of RAM
Please help.

Quote I resently upgraded to PD16 and now I can't grab the little dots in an audio track to change levels at different parts with in the same waveform.
I have looked at every setting, but nothing helps.
PD14 and 15 let you do this so why not 16?
I need to be able to do this manually as I could before.
Please help!

First, this post is in the wrong part of the forum. Thi one is for PowerDVD (player) rather than PowerDirector (video editor). I mentioned this because some people will read only certain forums and you may lose some people who have the answer.

Yes, it is changed in PowerDirector 16. Just add the CTRL key to your adjustments. It bugged me also and I have no idea why it was changed.

Edit: I wish I could type. I know how to spell but somewhere there is a disconnect.

I've put a copy of this post in the correct forum for furthur aid.
Thank you so much for helping!
Using control is a pain cause I only have one hand that I type with (my left hand only thumb and index work with my other fingers only able to move as a unit, not good for a keyboard :\ ) but it will work FN!
NOTE: I originally posted this in the wrong forum and am reposting into the correct one
