In an ideal world, you'd have made sure there was some fill lighting, but I understand these were photos taken "on the hop".
Depending on the quality of the photos, you'll probably be able to correct your underexposed subjects by applying an Adjustment Selection Mask under Regional Adjustments.
Once the mask is set, make the exposure & brightness adjustments needed to bring the subject out of the shadows. I'd make sure the mask feather is set very low.
Apologies because the photo I used in these screenshots was very low resolution and the actual results are far less than satifactory, but it may help with the process.

I have several photos taken with mobile phone , where there was a brigh light behind photographed person so this person is pretty much black. Is it possible and how to bring brightness to this person and not to whole photo.
I am using PhotoDirector 8 Ultra.

Hey guys
I was actually trying to find solution for the PD15 activations as it is keep saying that could not connect to activation server and i should check my internet connection which is fine btw.
Anyway, I have Nvidia Geforce 960 card and now I am reading this thread and I am now not sure does PD14 (currently I am using) is using my Nvidia card or not and how can I check or switch it to use it.
Is there a simple answer to that ?

I have two questions about PD14 features.
First is bit rate when producing video.
My multicopter camera produce video with bit rate about 50 Mbps.
After editing video I want to produce it to MP4 and there is no higher bitrate than 16 Mbps for Full HD (25 FPS) to choose from.
So it seems that edited video will be lower quality after producing, or there is a way to have higher bit rate ?
The second question is about 120 FPS footage that I am able to shoot with multicopter camera. But when I want to importa video for editing I can't set FPS to 120 as the highest is 60 FPS to choose from. Nevertheless when I want to produce video, under profiles I found 120 fps to choose from for Full HD video, while there is no 60 fps for example. So PD14 doesn't have 120 FPS option for imported video or what ?

The thing is that my original video is 1440x1080 , this is from Sony camera about 7 years old. So I thought I need to produce in this resolution.
I just produced in 1920x1080 25FPS and logo is better looking, sharper , but it is still not as sharp as original PNG file.
Is there maybe problem because my video is not 1920x1080 ?

This screenshot compares your produced logo (1920) and on the right it is my produced logo (res 1440).

This one compares my produced videos. On the left is logo within 1440 video, and on the right from 1920 video. It is better , but far from your produced. Your is larger and sharper.
What am I doing wrong here ?
How are you inserting logo into video ? I am creating title template, import image , save and this is it. I didn't resizing logo so far, just imported into this template.
maybe something else I need to set differently ?
What about best setting when producing video. What is best setting to make the best use of GeForce graphic card I have?

UPDATE: I created canvas 1920x1080 , set logo in there, which is now very very large. Then added logo to the template under titles in PD14 where actually looked ok. But after producing video, logo is not sharp, it is blurred.

Sorry for not replying right away.
I don't know.......I am just trying to include logo inside video but it is still not sharp. I am doing this with Fireworks software . I created large logo with 600dpi (3500x1700px) and when I insert this into video , it is still not sharp.
I tried one of these logos that ynotfish set for download, I iused this large one 1025x1025, but again this logo is too not sharp.
I am not sure what resolution should logo have to insert it into 1920x1080 video to be clear and sharp as it is sharp when you open it with any image viewer.

Hope you allow me saying something about that.
Doesn't matter what are specs of the drone camera. It can be up to 4K, but if you set it to shoot Full HD , it will shoot 1920x1080. So original video file is with that resolution and he is not resizing it.
Anyways, for about reducing size from higher to lower, shouldn't quality be the same and not reduced ?

I presume you mean pixels per inch ?
Pixels per inch is 72, so if I need to set this higher, how to know how much is enough compared to video.

I am fairly new to this product and video editing in general.
I have couple of things I don't understand or have success with results:
- I created logo for the video. It is in PNG. Following tutorial I created template for this logo and placed it on the video. The problem is that logo is poor quality (blured) , not sharp as original image I created. I didn't resizing or anything , just inserted as is. What am I doing wrong ? How to insert logo and retain image quality ?
- PD14 providing selection for FPS. But videos from my older Sony video camera and Canon D500 are both 20FPS. There is no such selection in PD14. How should I proceed with that ?
- My Sony camera resolution is 1440x1080 but in Media info it is stated that it is 1090. There is no such resolution to select in custom settings when producing video. What to do with that ?
Hope someone will point me in right direction.

The thing is that during installation of K-lite, you need to select some things like what type of installation you want (Simple, Normal, Advance or Expert).
Then there is preferred video decoder, then decoding method with additional selections, video renderer...
Your surely did some selections and I don't know what combination to select to try your configuration.

I looked at your screenshot and actually as you see, there are things that are disabled, it is stated under DISABLED filters.
This is what I want to compare so I could try this configuration you have.

Thanks for your effort but looking at log file....just confuses me. I need something more "plain".
Can you maybe capture, on this tweak tools, what is enabled under Directshow filters, VFW codecs, Directshow X86, X64, ACM/VWF and Preferred decoders.

What exactly you have installed so I could possibly config this thing on my PC to work as on yours.
If you can maybe go through this tweak tool of K-lite and snapshot things how they are set.

Here is an update.
On tech support that I should uninstall DirectVodSub filter I only disabled it , but still no morion tracking. So I disabled madVR and halli filters too, bit still no go. Then I uninstalled K-Lite Mega Code Pack 12.2.0 completely and after that motion tracking is working.
I hope they can narrow down what in K-lite Mega Code pack is causing problems with motion tracker.

Hi to all
I am trying this feature but without any success. I tried on numerous videos and nothing.
The problem is that whichever object I mark first of all Tracking button is not working on first click. On second click video preview is started but moving fast forward and there is no yellow tracker on the screen tracking object. Tried dozens of times with same result.
When I tried on this included video with surfer, Tracking button is not working at all.
I already contacted technical support and they suggested running PD in administrator mode which I tried and again nothing. Then I uninstalled everything and install only PD without any effect or whatever additions I have, but again the same result.
I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC with Intel i5-3470 CPU , 16 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4GB).
What could be the problem and what should I try else ?
