Motion tracking not working

Hi to all

I am trying this feature but without any success. I tried on numerous videos and nothing.

The problem is that whichever object I mark first of all Tracking button is not working on first click. On second click video preview is started but moving fast forward and there is no yellow tracker on the screen tracking object. Tried dozens of times with same result.

When I tried on this included video with surfer, Tracking button is not working at all.

I already contacted technical support and they suggested running PD in administrator mode which I tried and again nothing. Then I uninstalled everything and install only PD without any effect or whatever additions I have, but again the same result.

I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC with Intel i5-3470 CPU , 16 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4GB).

What could be the problem and what should I try else ?

Thanks

Are you certain you don't have GeForce Experience installed? It causes a variety of problems (perhaps yours, perhaps not). Regards,
Dan

Here is an update.

On tech support that I should uninstall DirectVodSub filter I only disabled it , but still no morion tracking. So I disabled madVR and halli filters too, bit still no go. Then I uninstalled K-Lite Mega Code Pack 12.2.0 completely and after that motion tracking is working.

I hope they can narrow down what in K-lite Mega Code pack is causing problems with motion tracker.

Hi Robert44 -

I've been following your issue, but didn't have any useful suggestions.

I'm surprised that uninstalling K-Lite had any impact. It's installed here on 2 PCs that have never had an issue with Motion Tracking. Must be some strange combination of things on your PC.

Anyway - glad you got the thing going!

Cheers - Tony

Hi ynotfish

If it isn't too much to ask, could you be so kind to send me your K-lite code pack configuration ?
What exactly you have installed so I could possibly config this thing on my PC to work as on yours.
If you can maybe go through this tweak tool of K-lite and snapshot things how they are set.

Thanks

At first I thought I'd made a silly omission, when I realised you are using Win10. My statement above refewrred to Win7 PCs.

I've just switched one of those to Win10 - with K-Lite Mega installed - and run motion tracker without any issues. Everything worked as expected.

Attached is a log from K-Lite Tweak Tool, for what it's worth. If there's other information that might help, just say.

I'm in no way suggesting that you re-install K-Lite. On your PC, it may well generate the problem again. I'd leave well enough alone laughing

Cheers - Tony

Thanks for your effort but looking at log file....just confuses me. I need something more "plain".
Can you maybe capture, on this tweak tools, what is enabled under Directshow filters, VFW codecs, Directshow X86, X64, ACM/VWF and Preferred decoders.

Thanks

Sorry that confused you.

I've installed K-Lite Mega Pack and NOTHING has been tweaked or disabled. When I open the Tweak Tool, no filters or codecs are unchecked.

I could post screenshots of every part of it, but they all look just like the one attached.

By the way, the screen capture I posted here - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48756.page#255598 - was done on a Win10 PC with K-Lite installed & active.

Robert - I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Seriously. I was just intrigued that the "solution" you found wasn't necessary here.

Cheers - Tony

I looked at your screenshot and actually as you see, there are things that are disabled, it is stated under DISABLED filters.
This is what I want to compare so I could try this configuration you have.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Oh sorry - my error.

Still, as I said, nothing has been tweaked from the original default installation.

I'll do some digging around to see if I can make Motion Tracker "fall over".

Cheers - Tony

The thing is that during installation of K-lite, you need to select some things like what type of installation you want (Simple, Normal, Advance or Expert).
Then there is preferred video decoder, then decoding method with additional selections, video renderer...
Your surely did some selections and I don't know what combination to select to try your configuration.

Robert -

I completely uninstalled K-Lite, rebooted then reinstalled with the screen capture running... so you can see that I used EVERY default setting for a NORMAL installation and made no selections or changes.

Next I opened up PDR14 to test Motion Tracker.

Matters technical aren't my best thing! I rely on others for that. embarassed

Cheers - Tony

P.S. I typed the captions in a hurry!
