Then what am I missing, compared to the market's (e.g. Hollywood's) DVDs ? Is it all a matter of quality between cameras ? The differece is huge.
Commercial DVDs are pressed and not burned.
By the way, they are doulble layer.
You may want to consider reading some literature regarding DVDs and Resolution and more.
Thank you Steve, I will have a look around.

Thank you Steve ! I'll have a look at the settings and post my findings.
With reference to the exportation ;
(a) I do need a DVD at this moment.
(b) the question of the dummy ; ... what is a thumb drive ? !!! It's the first time ever I hear of this term. You mean a USB stick ?

Hello everybody and have a nice year, full of health, love and fulfilled gentle dreams !
I use Power Director 13 and I have a question ; I film footage in 1080p. Yet when the editing is filanised and I want to create a disk, the disk will end-up in the classic PAL resolution. That is from 1920x1080 original footage I get a 720x576 DVD.
Is there any way that I may change my settings/options and get a DVD in 720p or 1080p ? DVD, not Blu-Ray. If yes, please specify.
Thank you in advance.

I don't know how it occured to me, I guess it must have come up as an idea, maybe I should even forward it to the programming team to be explored.
Thank you for the time you took to address my inquiries and for the knowledge I came up with through our interaction. Have a nice day too !

Well, I tried it and it works. Then it has to be combined/synced with the background (either inserted through the PiP Designer or as Image in the Title Designer) and so on. I need to study and experiment with the Title Designer a bit more to feel comfortable with it, but so far it does look like the PiP module suits me best.
Thank you for the advice and the insight on the Title Designer ! I has really guided me to learn and understand a few things.

Steve, I have been able to find the yellow rectangle around the arrow of the timeline pointer. And everything has followed. Thank you for that. And for the attachment placement in the forum posts. And thank you for pointing out that things are being written for a reason, I hadn't thought about this one before.
So, PD does offer a way to save/produce separate clips without removing anything from the project.
But if I have a timeline sequence split into e.g. 5 scenes, is there a way to arrange the production of those 5 separate clips (each containing one scene) consecutively, in just one click for all of them ? Somehow, in order to avoid the 5 steps and merge the production process in one step, still producing 5 different clips. Because this is what I first thought that Steve & tomasc suggested to Bill Hansen.

By the way, I use PD 13 Ultra, version 13.0.3130.0. I bought it from the Cyberlink e-store.

Yes, this is what I mean. I attach a screenshot of my screen. Please check it. The .png is clicked and it also appears as selected object in the top left corner of the screen. Everything seems the same, except there are no keyframes.
Once again, thank you for taking the the time to assist me.

By the way, how can I insert a screenshot ? I try Insert/Edit Image but the "Source" input doesn't connect with my PC ...

Thank you Steve ! I work with a purchased PD13, in timeline mode.
Nikos, You didn't answer most of my questions or provide the dxdiag.exe text file.
Some of the controls don't appear until you have selected the range. There are small arrowhead to either side of the main timeline pointer. Use these to select the range. They are hard to see.
Steve, I actually answered 3/4 of your questions ; I have PD 13, purchased (downloaded from Cyberlink, registered etc.) and work in timeline mode. The build is 13.0.3130.0.
With reference to the dxdiag.exe file, I have no idea what it is, thus I would appreciate your guidance regarding how to retrieve it.
The arrows, you mean the ones in the bottom of the screen, which which I may move right and left throughout the timeline and its duration ?
Also, I posted the nquiry about the range selection, assuming that if my timeline is split into e.g. 5 consequative scenes, what follows from the range selection will allow me to automatically save each scene as separate clip, in one step. Without having to delete the 4 clips and save the 5th, then repeat this action 4 more times (each to save one scene as standalone video).

My general purpose is double ;
(1) to create a title, using all the available opportunities (keyframe attributes etc.) to my likes.
(2) to save this title for future use, so that I won't have to redesign everything every single time I need it.
Purpose no.2 has been sorted out in the meantime.
As regards no.1, I know of 2 options, in both of which I import the .png file and place it on video track 2.
(1a) I treat it as PiP. I click Modify and the PiP Desgner window opens.
I can play with keyframes etc, save my work and load it at a later instance from the PiP Card of PD's left column.
(1b) I treat it as Title, which sounds more appropriate for this task, anyway. I click Modify and the Title Designer window opens.
There is no keyframing option and the Object Settings palette is there but everything is greyed out. So, the whole keyframing "toolbox" is not available. The object will appear in my film only as the Title Designer's default attributes. I can't change them. Question ; why is that, what am I doing wrong ?

You are welcome. I'm glad I may have been of your assistance as much as other fellows have been of my assistance in similar occasions. Offering is the purpose of the forum !

Alternatively you may place the transitions first and then adjust the times of the subtitles. Should help unless the transitions are not too many. I've had the same "problem" with titles but that case was easy to figure out and handle.
CLD's advice seems more adequate, though.
The thing is that in overlaping transitions each of the clips (in which the transition is placed between) offers half the transition duration from it's own duration. So, e.g. in a 2-sec transition the second clip goes back 1 sec etc. It's not a bug or anything abnormal.

Now, that ws some great piece of advice but how does one activate the range selection ? Because I downloaded the two screenshots provided but most of the featured buttons (Cut, Range, Remove etc.) are not there, in my main timeline screen.
I would appreciate your guidance. It does look like a great way to save clips while actually ... being elsewhere !! Never heard or imagined that such an option was offered.

Hello everyone !
I am using Power Director 13. I import a bunch of sports clips and what I want is to insert a title with the name of the scorer everytime the camera focuses on them.
Now, I have done this work in Photoshop and exported a .png file for each player of the team (includes name, number, club colors & logo). In PD13 I insert the appropriate card-title-png for the scorer on video track 2, click "Modify" and do my work in that editor. Which means adding the appropriate keyframes for transparency to ;
go from 0 to 100 in the first second (0-1), stay there for 3 secs (1-4) and degrade again to 0 in the last second (4-5).
So, this title lasts 5 secs.
Naturally, I need to save this title for every player, so that I won't have to go through the keyframe procedure every holly time someone scores.
One thing is ; HOW is it done ? !!!
Second is, I try the title designer and there is no opportunity to add keyframes. I get to think I'm missing something. What is it ?
Thank you in advance !

Thank you Carl. Your directions helped me discover that the lower part of the top screen has a slider. The buttons in question were hidden behind the slider. Now it's ok. Thank you !

Thank you both for your time and advice. The problem is I cannot see any "Apply to All" button, anywhere in the page.
If I select both clips from the timeline, the "Fix/Enhance" option disappears. And, so far, I have only worked with one video track.
Any suggestions ?

My friend thank you for your time and support.
Actually what you mentioned worked ... at first. Because then I did have to try hard to understand why I cannot have only one menu but instead be "obliged" to have a Root Menu and a Chapters Menu ... where are the days where customisation options where the priority of the software ?
Anywa, while I was experimenting with the different details I could change, the Support Team replied to me that the only way to do this is to render the material for each chapter, one-by-one, save it as separate clip and then import those new clips to the timeline and link them (one-by-one) with the chapters I want to create ... that's the best that may be done, in 2015 ...
Most of us have also tried other programs over the years, so I guess anyone can make their own conclusions. I guess the pros of our days need to spend less effort and resources in the marketing direction and, instead, turn their attention to the product itself first.
