I just got an answer from support. Apparently this is a feature (the program supposes to function in this way), but the good news is that they may consider this for a future update... eventually.

I can't believe they didn't think about this until now.
Well, they do advertise this feature on the new PowerDVD 15, at least for TV series so you may not miss anything... but they don't mention anything about BD.

However, I don't think you can resume BD. This is not a hard-to-implement feature, it was already implemented and then removed.
It may have to do with licensing and commercial constraints.

Didn't you notice that you cannot skip some intros with various copyright/warning messages?

Now let's speak about the practical part.

I tested PowerDVD 15 with two Bluray disks I had at hand. They both could resume playback, they even asked me if I want to resume playback. But I think this was a feature of the disks and not PowerDVD itself.
Where did you see Dolby Atmos in specs?

No mention of Dolby Atmos here.
Your assumption is wrong. The offer was loaded online from cyberlink servers. All Cyberlink software do that. When you click on the offer (i.e. in the lower right corner for Power2Go 9) the program takes you online to the special page with the offer shown. If you never go online, the program will never show you any offer (except maybe the offers loaded previously when the computer was online at that time).

Now why the program offered me an upgrade to Power2Go 9 instead of 10 I don't know. It may be because Power2Go 10 was released just before and they didn't update the offers for OEM editions, or maybe because the program assumed that being an edition with many feature limits, the user might want to upgrade to the full version instead of a newer version.

But you may want to experiment this and see that, when special offers are available, accessing the site directly is more likely to give you a better offer than clicking on the upgrade button from within the software itself. This is either a bug, or a 'feature' into cyberlink's advantage.

LE: I didn't know at that time that I can get a refund. However, probably I wouldn't do that even if I knew, because:
1) Power2Go 9 was just fine for my needs (I upgraded just to be able to use the 'System Recovery' feature), though it would have been nice to know that I had other choices to go for;
2) I planned to wait a special offer to Power2Go 10 to buy it for another computer (which I did);
3) transfering money internationally back and forth implies some bank fees which means some extra money than I didn't want to loose to no end.
I downloaded and installed the trial version. Personally, I like PowerDVD 14's UI more.

Ever since Windows 8 was released, there is this trend among various software developers to flatten every aspect of the UI. Unfortunately, this is not every time a good thing, because sometimes the results are not as good as expected.

UI transition from Power2Go 9 to Power2Go 10 has much improvements, but in case of PowerDVD 15, few extra features alone may appeal to many users, including myself.

I was expecting this release so I can upgrade my PowerDVD 14 version included in MediaSuite 12, just to be able to use PowerDVD as a media server, but $70 for an upgrade to a less nice interface and only a few extra features makes me wait, while regretting that I didn't buy a full extra license of PowerDVD 14 Ultra while I could, which was cheaper anyway.

So, what more could we expect from PowerDVD, you may ask?

Well, in terms of features, they may not have much to add, at least for now. PowerDVD 14 was already a great release.
But, in terms of functionality, I was expecting they will build the same products of a particular class that may be used by the same person, in such a way to make you feel that they are belonging to the same owner.

To be more specific, let's have my own example: I have PowerDVD 14 Ultra along with other utilities (PowerDirector, MediaEspresso etc.) on my PC (location 1) and on my laptop. I also have these applications on another PC (location 2) as part of MediaSuite.

What I expected: settings and setup for PowerDVD and other applications to syncronise themsleves if needed, especially when using Cyberlink Cloud.

What I got instead:
- I had to redo settings on each location, even after reinstalling the software;
- I had to (re- ) tag faces on pictures on each location, even if I have the same pictures on the same path, synced by OneDrive;
- PowerDVD from MediaSuite doesn't have the ability to use Cyberlink Cloud, because if this wasn't included in the package as an offer, they assume the user don't use or didn't purchase Cyberlink Cloud separatelly or as a bunlde with another product.

That, my friends, is the kind of functionality I expected to be implemented in a 'next-gen' release of this kind.

I am waiting for your opinions also.
I agree, but that happened before and with another software than Power2Go.

But, I had a similar issue with Power2Go as well: I installed an OEM version of Power2Go which came with an Asus Blu-Ray burner. The program made me an offer to upgrade to Power2Go 9 Platinum. I clicked, buyed, and a day later when visiting Cyberlink site to buy PowerDVD, I found out that there was also available Power2Go 10 which I could upgrade to for a little extra fee.

Should I knew that, I would have chosen Power2Go 10 instead of 9, of course.
I have both Power2Go 9 and 10 Platinum versions, and I need to prevent the burner to eject the tray after burning.

Today I burned several different images generated with a backup software, which needed to be booted on the same PC.

I have a HP 8200 USFF located on a high level which is hard to reach. Being an ultra small form factor, it has a notebook-type slim drive that can't re-insert the tray automatically after ejecting.

So it is very unconfortable for me to get to the PC each time to close the tray.

I have looked everywhere on Settings and Preferences menus, but to no avail.

Does anyone knows the answer?
He tried to say that he found the application cheaper on the online shop ($62), than on the special offer he received (probably via e-mail) as a valuable customer ($75).

Normally I wouldn't revive this old thread, but I experienced a similar thing.
Hi,

Regarding the 'Dual Display Mode' tab - I don't think that those options will be of much use anymore.

I think these options were implemented to compensate the undesirable effects of the overlay mode on multiple monitors (e.g. moving the player window from one display to another will determine the playback area to become black - so while the sound won't have any problems, the image or the part of the image that was moved on the other screen will not be shown).

This isn't the case anymore - PowerDVD works just fine 'by default' with multiple monitors and there is nothing to be tuned anymore.

I don't think anyone can make a patch for this because the feature might have been removed entirely, including the aforementioned tab.
