Thank you for your reply. I did figure it out. My external hard drive had changed its letter (after I'd plugged someone else's media into my computer). Once I was able to change the letter back to the original (so from D drive to F drive), the path was corrected and the pds file opened again. Whew!
I've been saving my project in the same place in the same way 100 times/day for weeks and now suddenly I've gotten this: "Cyberlink Power Director cannot open this media file because it was moved or is missing. Check that it's available and try again."

All my media is still there. But I cannot open my project no matter if I click ignore, ignore all, or browse. When I click browse, the name of the file that comes up is NOT the name of my pds file I'm trying to open.

Help! I have no clue what happened, but I just lost my entire project into vaper.
Unfortunately, I can't save it in PPM because that's one of the bugs that's happening. And it's too big a project to turn into a film every time I work on it. So I have to save it as a work in progress, which was working fine til all the glitches started happening.
Thanks for replying though.
Hi Dafydd, Thanks for replying.

I've been paying for phone support for the past month and I'm no closer to having working software than I was a month ago. My project has gotten corrupted somehow. independently, the footage is fine and the software is fine. But not together.

Saving it as a pds file doesn't help me. Because I can only open it if I have my external hard drive with all the footage attached. I've done that. I need a way of saving the project someway other than that, or as a film, which I also did. Because I'm trying to make sure I have an order and all the information on what clips I used, with time codes, in order. Part of my issue is that the pack materials backup won't work correctly with this project. It didn't save in order, or just the edited clips I used. It tried to save all 15 hours worth of footage, numerically. So I'm looking for an alternative so I don't have to hand write all my time codes, which are also wrong on the corrupted file.
So I've been wasting time with the PAID premium phone support for over a month now and my project is still not working. I can't edit. I can't power pack material. I've made a few movie versions to at least have something, and been long form writing what clips I used in order. But is there any other way of saving my work that I'm missing? Can I make an AAF or an EDL?

Has anyone actually gotten help from the phone support? Or gotten their money and time back for the 6 months work of work on my feature that I'm about to lose all my editing? Has anyone edited a giant feature before and the software still worked?
Thank you very much.
I'm having horrible issues, the film sometimes plays in movie mode even though it says it's in clip mode. I'm getting blank moments in between cuts. And other things. Please tell me, I'm guessing that if I did a complete re-install on my cyber power director 12, I would lose all the work I've already done? I've saved my work several places, but it only will come back up in one of them. Basically, unless I have the external hard drive with all my media plugged into my computer, I can't even bring up the project. I don't understand that either.

I've paid for the premium phone help, and it's NOT helping so far. I've been going back and forth with them for a week, and it's still not working any better than before. Help me please!
Nope. Nothing's working. The dialog is overlapping when I move clips. The blank space is because the video is shifting out of sync when I move a clip. Nothing's working correctly. Help!
OK. I did what you said. Hereare 2 of my glitches that's still happening: while editing, even though it should be playing in CLIP mode, because CLIP is highlighted, it still is only playing in movie mode, meaning the time count is the movie time and it keeps playing the next clip. At first it was a few clips like that, now it's all clips. I checked settings, I have it the way I want it. I switched my setting and switched it back. Nope, still not working. That's going to make it very hard to edit a clip. The other glitch is that when I delete a clip, it become a blank space instead of moving the next clips forward like I'm asking it to. Thoughts? Anyone?
Actually, my computer did just got through one of those, "please do not shut off your computer. System updating." It's done it before though. I've never done a system restore before. Always scare me that I'll lose everything I've been working on, and it would probably update again.
Thanks for the welcome. More thoughts?
I've been using PD 12 with no problems for the past 2 years on my lenovo thinkpad, windows 7. And now, suddenly, all kinds of bizarre issues are happening. Overlappy sound. Some of my video is suddenly split from its audio. When I delete a clip, it often, but not always, leaves a blank/black screen split second clip in its place. Some of my clips, in the timecode under the picture window, it'll say the film time, not start at zero for the clip. But not all of them. I shot it ALL exactly the same, yet different clips react differently. What is happening?! Help! I'm editing a feature documentary and it was going so well...
