I was able to install the patch by plugging the external drive back into the desktop while I downloaded and then installed the patch.

Once it was installed, I unplugged the external drive. I assume PD was trying to ID the F Drive when it was not actually connected.

Everything seems to be working properly now.

Thanks for sticking with me. I indeed learned a lot but still have a way to go.

I appreciate your responses.

Wil
mleise,

I removed PD12 and tried to reinstall it and unfortunately it will not install. The same Error 1327 appears.

Wil
mleise,

Thank you for your response. I have been transferring stuff from a lap top to a desktop and very well may have done just what you mentioned. I am not sure. But I like your thought of uninstalling it, then reinstalling.

I have the original CD but did not try to install it there.

I just downloaded this patch and when I went to install it I get this error. I have no idea why.

Error 1327, Invalid drive: F:\

Hi Oldboy549,
Do you have an "F" drive?
What have you installed on your "F" drive?
Perhaps you can provide two additional important bits of information.
1. Screenshot of the error message AND the background please, full screen image.
2. A diagnostic file to analyze what your set up is.
For further assistance please check out the Guides Part A, B, E & F http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/29701.page

Thank you for your response. I am a Novice that struggles as you probably sense.

I am using PD Ultimate 12.0.2726.0 XP 32 Bit. The "F" drive is an external backup drive that I don't think was plugged in to the computer when I tried to install the patch. I did search for the install on the external drive but did not see it. As I remember I did not have a choice of where the patch was going to be installed and assumed (yep, I know, don't assume) that it was going directly to CD

Here is the DxDiag.txt:

Lystander 1,

A word of encouragement.

Hang in there. I am in the same boat ... a new beginner with lots to learn. Everything I do seems to be wrong, and I struggle on. It is definitely a time consumer but I will not give in and eventually I seem to conquer.

Good luck and I wish you well.

Wil
I'd like to know your capturing set up.
The Novice is here again. Can you tell me the proper (flow) way to render video. It seems that when I am in the edit mode and trying to edit my video, it goes into rendering mode automatically without any action from me. Is this normal and am I completely off base. Thanks for any advice,

2. WMV 1280x720/25p @ 6MBps - file size ~22MB - http://youtu.be/04DokCfSnxg

Very interesting and what great sharp videos. At my location the AVC appeared to be the sharpest.

I will give both a shot and hopefully get the results you have.

Thank you.
AVC 1920 x 1080/24p (16Mbps) setting for H.264 AVC. Either choice will result in your finished/produced file having the same quality and detail as your original footage.

I shot a test vid and burned a DVD. The DVD would not play in my el cheapo player saying "unknown disc". The player does play previously shot DVDs although. Do I need a special player for playback?

What's your thoughts.

Wil
OK, I have changed my profile and added an AVATAR. Hopefully all is good.
I just cannot seem to get a crystal clear HD DVD on PD12.

I am using Canon Vixia HF S21 & MF M41 cameras. Files are .mts at 24 frames. I have bounced around on all possible settings and just can't seem to find what I need to do to get that beautiful clear video that I know my equipment will produce. Anyone have any suggestions of what settings I must use to get the results I desire.

Thanks

Wil
