I'm working with the particle editor in PD13 and there's a behaviour that I don't understand. I use a standard with PD13 supplied particle (Facebook like thumb) and I get this result:

The thing I don't understand are the vague thumbs that appear to the right of the screen (marked with the grey arrows). What setting in the particle editor makes them appear over there? I tried every setting but I can't figure it out.

These are the current settings:
Emit method: Point
Emit rate: 5000
Max count: 500
Life: 3200
Size: 6800
Speed: 4000

All other settings are 0. I hope you can help me out!
Hi all,

I want to draw a line that becomes longer in time, but not wider. Hoe can I achieve this? If I use a normal image of a line, and use the scale option, it also becomes wider.

I hope you can help me out!
Okay thanks, it's about time I'll get a newer version of PD
Thank you Tony, I've downloaded the file and I can open it in PD. But when I open it, I see nothing happening. I see just a small black dot on the left border of the screen appearing and dissapearing. What am I doing wrong? It turns out that I'm using PD 11, does this make a difference?
Hi all,

I'm trying to make a text (or image) move in a sort of 3D way.

Take a look at this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VAqBvO63oE

At 0:05 you see the A (between "with" and "vengeance") fly in. How can I achieve that in PD??
Oh thanks a lot, I totally get it!
Hi all,

I've made a title and I want to make it move, using a custom motion path. It's clear how that's done with a PiP object, but I don't have the same motion possibilities with a title; just the standard things like fade, roll in etc. How can I add a motion path to a title?

I assume the most logical way would to save the title as a PNG and then import it as a PiP? How do I save a title as PNG? I cannot find an option for that.

I hope you can help me out!
But how do you position the lights? It will always create a shadow and thus problems with the chromakey. Or are there other ways to delete the wires in the video?
That worked, thank you! But there's a difference between the still image and the moving image: I first shot a movie with just the background and than, without altering the position of the camera I shot the video with the airplane.

The problem is that the light came from the back so when I moved the airplane, there was a vague shadow of myself on the background. Applying the chromakey results in that the lines are still a bit visible since the background shot did not contain my shadow.

How can I reduce shadow forming to a minimum??
Hi all,

Let's say I have an airplane that hangs on a few wires and I want to make it "fly" in a video. Then I have to remove the wires from the video. How do you accomplish that??

My first thought was a moving mask with a transparency (a PiP of the same image without the airplane) but I found out that masks cannot be moved. I tried ColorDirector and was able to colour the wire somewhat green (it was too small to do a nice job) but I don't know how to use this green colour in PowerDirector to make it transparant or something like that. I tried using ChromaKey, but using that, the original lines came back again.

So how do I delete the lines from the video??
Yes that worked, thank you very much!!
Hi all,

I've shot some videos with a mobile phone and these are shot with a wrong angle. I can rotate the video canvas, but this results in black areas left and right of the video (using 16:9 video format). Zooming to cancel out the black areas is no option so I was wondering: I need to insert this video in another video as a PiP in a corner. Is there a way to make the black areas in the inserted video transparent??
I'm using a Sony HX9V compact camera to shoot video's. It shoots video's in 1920x1080 50p. I'm planning to buy an action cam but I see that most/all action cams shoot with the same resolution only 30p fps. Can I combine these two formats in Powerdirector or do I first need to convert one of the two? If conversion is needed, how do I convert them?
