I'm trying to use this but I get to record about 1 second of the screen and then I get a message saying "Screen Recorder could not acccess the file. Check that there is enough space in the target folder."
I've got no idea what it means. Can anyone help please? Thank you.

Thanks all, I have sorted it now - I am just capturing the media from PowerDirector. You were right: I was in the wrong programme!

Thanks for your reply. I had to wait until I'd installed the (very old!) drivers for my hardware as I realised I hadn't done this! I've now done it - I think - and I can see the VHS playing on the computer screen but when I try to capture the video it captures a few seconds and then says "Screen recorder could not access the file. Check that there is enough space in the target folder." There's plenty of space, so I don't know what it's going on about..?!

I have the required hardware to send audio & visual data from my VHS to my computer via USB, but PowerDirector doesn't show me any options for capturing data thus transmitted. Can anyone help me please? Thank you.

Thanks so much again. I did fear the ye olde laptop was the problem although I've been able to produce other movies - eventually! I am going to invest in a new one as soon as lockdown is over. I do have a newer one which is smaller and flimsier, but I'm unable to put the PD software on it and I figured until I got a new one I shouldn't make a big hooha about trying to move the software onto the other one.
I really appreciate your offer and help. I will PM you now.

This only gets better. I spend ages doing another rendering, which is audio only. But it's OK - he's just told me an old friend has died so if I have a surprise for him (which I had told him I did) would I mind putting it off.
I feel like crying. But hey at least that gives me time to do this...

Aha it is indeed 16:9, that cleared that up! Thank you. I have just used a rubbish one called Clover but I will know for next time.

The low res one worked but it looks rotten so I went to try again. The "fast rendering" box is unticked. I'm trying with a slightly higher res and if that doesn't work then I will go through the diagnostics. My thinking is if I get a half-decent one sent over to him within 20 minutes or so I can then spend time diagnosing the fault and doing it properly.
I am also starving as I've been working on this since about 1630! Thank you again for replying, it is reassuring to know someone is out there!

Thank you for responding so quickly. After restarting it several times and trying to install it on another machine (nope) I've set it as producing a lower quality - suitable for a "pocket computer" or whatever that is. It's producing at the moment. if that is good enough quality I will send that to him so he gets his birthday video on his birthday then set about doing a proper decent copy for him and I will do the diagnostics you have asked for. Of all the times! Thanks again, fingers crossed...

Please please can someone help me? After working for hours on a video for my friend's birthday (today) I'm ready to produce it and PD keeps crashing. I can't believe it. I have updated PD and it's all ready to go but whenever I try to produce the video it just crashes and closes the whole thing. Is there any other way of producing it? I am so gutted that this is happening. Please help! Thank you.

Thank you - I can't seem to insert the title file anywhere. I can't import it as media and when I go to the Title Room it's not there. What am I missing? It says "The title template was successfuly installed and is now ready to use" but it doesn't appear in the list of Titles.

If you've exhausted PowerDirector's stock title templates and you can't find one that works for you, you should check out the free templates in the DirectorZone. There are thousands of them there.

Thank you. That's where I had downloaded a couple from, but I can't get them to work for some reason. It's like PD doesn't recognise them.

My friend is 70 and I have collected videos from our friends and colleagues to stitch together for him as we can't celebrate in person. I've put the videos on, along with Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday, but I'd like to insert a title which introduces the video, and a 'credits' page. I've downloaded some templates online but I don't think I'm doing it right. I've found a Star Wars one I'd like to use at the beginning but Cyberlink won't allow me to insert it.
Any help to make this special for him would be gratefully received! Thank you.

Thanks for replying so quickly. Alas as you said it's too much for my computer to preview the whole thing! Several hours later - the video speed was great and I got the audio working alongside it, but I decided it was too long to hold people's attention so I have done a lot of trimming. My problem now is that I can't figure out how to put the audio alongside the video. Do I insert the audio track just once, or keep inserting it right along the video even though the video is now more or less the length of the audio? Preview doesn't show the video sped-up.
Thank you for your help.

I have a video I'd like to speed up and add the Benny Hill soundtrack to. I have managed to speed up the video and remove the audio from it, and put the new audio track underneath. Is there a way that I can play the whole thing with audio and video without producing it? I am new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

I have just purchased PowerDirector365 but made some footage in PD10. Am I able to remove the watermark from the footage I took, or do I have to retake it using PD365? I have tried following a youtube tutorial about removing it using "enable this track only" but it still hasn't worked. Any help, please, or should I just record the footage all over again?
Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I am still not sure I'll be able to record the footage but at least I know I won't be stuck in an expensive contract if I can't!

Following another thread, I am trying to burn a movie I've made to DVD. I understand I need to purchase the full version of Power Director to do so. However I am concerned that I can't record footage from my VHS player to my PC via Power Director. I've been told on another thread that I can if I patch it, but I'm not an IT expert. At the moment I'm using PD 10 to record my video.
If the software doesn't work am I able to cancel my contract? I've been reading through the Ts and Cs and it looks like (understandably) because it's digital content I lose my right to withdraw from the contract.
Thanks.

Sorry to bump my own thread, could you help me regarding burning a DVD please? Can this only be done with the full version of the software?
Thanks.

In your initial post you claimed that you can capture analog video using the VHS to DVD hardware (dongle) using PD10. If this is the same pc with the PD17 trial, then it should capture just as well. Any software including windows will always have bugs. They are fixed with patches after you buy it. You know that? Right. Patches are found here: https://www.cyberlink.com/support/index.html?action=download .
Great, thank you - I didn't know that and don't really know how I would go about using patches as I am not an IT guru! If it doesn't work properly presumably I go to that link, download the patch and then click to install it like I install normal software?
|
|
Thank you for your reply. Do I have to purchase the dongle separately or do you mean I should be able to use the hardware I have bought (the USB which comes with the VHS-to-DVD software)? I will buy the software if it means that I can capture the footage. I don't know what patching is though!
Does the trial allow creation of a disc, or again is it only the bought software?
