That Gramblr app sounds very helpful.

The IG FAQs page explicitly states that videos can't be uploaded from a PC, which is why I tried to find the appropriate settings from PD-to-phone-to-IG:

Hi optodata,

The free app Gramblr which u mentioned, I had tried using it quite long time ago and at that time it didn't work as expected (unable to use at all) so I have no wish to touch it anymore.

Have a great day laughing
Quote G'day LEO STARRY SKY -

First up, I don't use Instagram except to help answer questions like yours so my experience is limited.

I've just uploaded a couple of UHD (3840x2160) videos to my Instagram account - directly from the PC, via a free app called Gramblr. The videos were produced in PDR17 using basic AVC H.264 MP4 profiles. There were no issues & it was a painless process.

I haven't tried transferring a video to my phone to upload that way, but I'd consider that to be an unnecessary step... unless I'd shot the video on the phone. Is there a reason you're doing that?

I also haven't tried linking from YouTube or Vimeo as optodata suggested, but I've read you can do that via DropBox - so it should work.

Cheers - Tony

Hi ynotfish,

Good Day to u too wink

The free app Gramblr which u mentioned, I had tried using it quite long time ago and at that time it didn't work as expected (unable to use at all)

I had noted that choosing AVC H.264 is better than AVC H.265, this lets me wondering why AVC H.265 doesn't work painlessly like AVC H.264, hm~is it don't choose the 1st best one, choose the 2nd best one instead?

The reason for me to upload my video from smartphone to Instagram because it's more easy way than using PC as PC can't upload video (can't find the + sign to upload video), smartphone a few clicks then it's done swiftly.

As for DropBox, right now I don't see the need to use it. Thanks for the info laughing
Quote What output profile did you produce to? You can change to a different profile and probably get the video to play on your smartphone.

I didn't see any specs on the Instragram site itself, but I found several links to companies wanting you to use their software to convert your videos to work on IG. All of them (like this one) say that the max settings are HD (or 1800x945), 30p, and 60 sec max, so you'd probably want to skip 4K and produce an MP4 HD 30p version directly if you want to upload it from your phone.

Use YouTube or Vimeo if you want to link to a full resolution version from your IG account.

Hi ynotfish,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge laughing I was thinking a 4K video will be a very clear awesome video, that's why I created them. Ok, now I know it's better to produce a Mp4 video. Yup, next time I will use online feature (Youtube) to produce my video wink
Hi,

I had produced 4K Videos so I copy them to my smartphone but I'm unable to play these 4K Videos and there's an error message saying 'SW Decoder needed', I had installed a DVD player app called GOM Player on my smartphone but still unable to play. I had tried installing VLC app also cannot play.

I want to upload these 4K Videos to Instagram but because lack of necessary codec makes me unable to do so.

Any idea how can I install SW Decoder for my smartphone?

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks.
Hi Philwild,

Oh there's no Cyberlink Team, thanks for letting me know.

I had checked the timeline of this video and I found nothing at the end of the timeline but never mind as I had used the produce range feature and this black screen & 'The End' issues had been resolved. Thanks so much for yr time.

Have a wonderful week ahead ^^

Hi Cyberlink Team,

I had burnt 6 videos into a DVD-R using Cyberlink PowerDirector 17 (Ultimate) I will like to feedback on this black screen issue (Pls copy & paste the above link into your browser and watch the short video which I recorded for your reference).

After the whole video ends, black screen appears for a long stretch of time and 'The End' appears again.

The other 5 videos don't have this black screen issue at all, only this particular video, I wonder why?
Hi Warry, my Laptop has 134GB available so this can't be the reason for video not running smoothly, tomasac recommended windows 7 media player but mine is not Windows 7 but Windows 10 so I tried to use my Windows Media Player but unable to play the DVD-R.

But luckily, I had found a FREE & GOOD DVD Player called the GOM Player, it plays all the content (Menu, Starting Video & all my 6 videos) in my burned DVD. Below is the link for downloading GOM Player:

https://download.cnet.com/GOM-Player/3000-13632_4-10551786.html

Anyway Warry, thanks again laughing for giving me yr guidance and help.
Hi Warry,

Thank You So Much laughing I had been looking up and down, left and right for a suitable FREE DVD player from Microsoft Store but can't find suitable ones. Thanks again for yr recommendation, I'm sure it will work well wink

Also, u mentioned the special glasses for 3D then a thought sparkled, yes 3D must wear special glasses so this is what the 3D disc is

all about, thanks for sharing this info, appreciate it, I remember now that I have a pair of 3D glasses which was given free when I

bought a CD. laughing

I had installed VLC Player and it works fine except video doesn't run smoothly, is it possible to adjust settings to resolve this issue? How to adjust?

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks a lot.
Hi Warry,

Thanks for yr help, I had successfully burned a 2D disc. I choose MPEG-2 & HQ720x480/60i(9.5Mbps) for video encoding format and quality. As for the audio encoding format and channels, I choose LPCM & 2 channels.

Hope this will be of help to others who have a similar situation as me.

I still have another 2 more qns:

1) When I burn a 3D disc, how come the colour of the video becomes pale? I thought 3D should give vibrant colourful videos but it's not.

2) Which DVD player should I install in order have a smooth viewing of my videos? I need a FREE DVD Player App. I installed a FREE [DVD Player +] App from Microsoft Store and I found out my videos are lagging and not being viewed smoothly.

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks again.

Have a wonderful day, Warry laughing
Hi tomasc,
I viewed my videos burned in DVD-R using a normal standalone DVD player and the texts are not in place, video not clear and a bit sound problem so I think I will prefer to view it on a PC instead.

I'm unsure of the options to choose for 2D Disc Burn so can I ask u this:

Which one should I choose, LPCM or Dolby Digital or DTS?
Also should I choose 2 channels or 5.1 channels?

Fyi, I'm using Cyberlink PowerDirector 17 Ultimate.

Can you pls fill me with these details too:

1) Name of codec needed on the pc?

2) If PC doesn't have this codec, where can I download it for free?

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks a lot
Hi,
I'm unable to burn a DVD successfully, error msg says some medias are missing but when I opened the timeline, there's something inside. I had wasted quite a number of blank DVDs trying to burn a DVD so can someone pls guide me on this? Thanks so much.
Quote Do you have sound with the DVD when played in the pc ...

Hi tomasc,
When viewing DVD on PC, there's sound.
Hi,

I burn DVD but after viewing the DVD in a normal DVD player, there's no sound at all. Is it because I chose the wrong audio encoding format (DTS)?
Hi All,
Pls ignore this topic of mine, I already knew my 360 degrees video is working fine. As I don't know how to delete this topic which I created so I can only ask u all to ignore it. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Hi,

Just now when I was saving my project, Error msg saying : Not responding but still can save till 100%, I wonder if this is a bug?

Then for changing duration of text title, the response was very slow so I'm puzzled my PC has 135GB freespace, no way to be slow like a tortoise.

Any comments pls, thanks.
Hi,

I created a 360 degrees video but images & text titles are outside the screen when I produce it out. Is it naturally like this or I'm creating it in the wrong way? Pls comment, thanks laughing
Quote

You didn't provide any details, so it's hard to say what's happening. Audio should work in the 360 editor just like with standard clips, so take a look at this post and see if any of the suggestions apply to you.

Thanks for replying, after posting this post, I found out that I just need to select the real-time preview then audio is back.wink
Hi,

I had downloaded some templates (some are Magic Style Templates) , I opened them but they are not imported into my Media Library, why is this so? Any solutions pls?

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks.
Hi,

When I am using 360 Editor, there's no audio even though I had inserted a soundclip, I wonder why? Any solutions pls?

Waiting for yr reply asap, thanks a lot.
Quote That error message means that there is a problem with the first sound clip that you downloaded from the DZ. Try the other ones you downloaded. We would not know which one to check out in the DZ unless you post the link. You can try downloading that same template again and install it.

Thanks tomasc for putting an end to my puzzlement laughing

Hi,

I'm using the sound clips from DirectorZone but this error msg appears:

An error occurred
while opening this media file in the media library. It may be because the file
is broken,an unsupported format, protected media content, or for other reason.
Try contacting your video provider for a different video format. C:\Users\Public\Cyberlink\Downloaded

Waiting for yr reply soon, thanks.
