Yes, I see what you mean.
You were working in the Layers module, but the imported photo layer (hat) wasn't saved as part of the exported project. I'll make enquiries about that.
In your exported project, if you go back to the Library module, are all your photos available? (not counting the missing hat)
PIX
Only the background photo appears in library mode.

Hello,
When you export a project, there are options:
If you have the 3 options checked, your exported project should be complete. With the original source files copied the exported project can be used on a different PC.
Could you please test this again, in case there is some issue?
PIX
sorry - more files - view them in numerical order to see what I did

See attached screen shots. #4 shows the project when I opened it again & all that is shown is the background

Hello PointyHairedBoss,
These are fair questions, to which I've never given much thought.
In the Edit module, that message pops up if you make some edits then switch to another photo or a different module. If you opt to save the "Virtual Photo", it's stored in the cache folder for your project so that when you return to the edit module your edited photo is still in the same state you left it.
It is NOT the same as exporting the photo, which is an actual photo rather than stored data.
The saved virtual copy persists permanently, or until you delete it.

Thanks for the quick response but I may have confused the issue. I'm referring to saving the project versus saving an edited photo. I'm able to export photos but I'm having a problem saving the project. What I want to do is save an instance of the project so that I can open it later & resume working at the point I left off. When I export a project then reopen it later much of my editing is missing.
I've been using Powerdirector for a while which has "project save" & "project save as" options. I don't know why similar commands are not available with this software. In photodirector, how data is saved & where it is saved is confusing & unintuitive to me.

|
When I close Photodirector I get the message "Do you want to save your changes in a temporary file (virtual copy) for further editing?"
1) If I click yes, where is it saved?
2) does the saved copy persist only until the next time the program is closed?
3) Is this any different from me exporting the project before closing the program?

When I export a project Photodirector does not save everything. I close the program, double click the the saved phd file & when the program opens the only thing that appears is the background image.
What am I missing?

In Preferences / Project I selected backup whenever Photo Director closes. The first time I close the program a new folder "backup" is created with the phd file inside. The next time I close photodirector I get the message " cyberlink photodirector cannot access the selected folder. select another folder & try again". I press OK, the program closes & the Backup folder disappears

Thanks for your quick response. I don't have to use MP3, I'll use wav files instead when I need precise clipping.
I also just downloaded Audacity which doesn't have a the same mp3 problem. It looks like it has tons of features but has a bit of a learning curve. I'm going to give it a try.

I am having trouble with Wave Editor. When I save an edited mp3 file, it is truncated for no apparent reason. See attached screen shots.#1 - the original sound clip is 21.104 long & I selected the first 20.852.#2 - track is cropped - total time & selected time both show 20.852 - which is what I want. I Save Track As .. & get #3 The track length is now 18.285 with the last 2+ seconds truncated. This happens whenever I save. The length of truncation varies but it always truncates something.
