Beta Drivers may work fine in some cases. But, I've had to many bad experiences with beta drivers/beta programs over the past 10-20 years. If you want to use them that's entirely up to you. But not me.

P.S. And nobody is over-dramatizing about beta drivers either.
ishamm

I wouldn't use beta drivers there still getting rid of programing bugs and making sure the drivers are stable. Your just asking for trouble if you use them. That's why there's a warning for beta drivers, use at your own risk. We are not responsible for any problem that these drivers may have on your computer system.

@ishamm

I have the exact same ATI HD 5870 graphics card running the most current driver software and I don't have any problems.

Re-download the newest driver update from AMD's site which is version 13-9 just to make sure they weren't corrupted the first time you downloaded them.

You never mentioned what operating system your currently using, so make sure it's the correct update for your current operating system.

Now, respond back to me on which operating system your currently using and I will give you further instructions on uninstalling AMD Catalyst Install Manager which uninstalls all your ATI Drivers. And replacing your graphics drivers with Microsoft's Generic Driver. If you already know how to do this then proceed on your own.

Then we will restart your computer with the generic graphics driver from Microsoft. Next we will reinstall from scratch the driver update from AMD's site which is version 13-9.

NOTE: AMD Catalyst Control Center requires Microsoft .NET4 Framework. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may need to install the Microsoft .NET4 Framework as a prerequisite to use Catalyst Control Center.

You might have corrupted ATI drivers that are causing your problems and that's why I want to do a totally clean re-install to see if this corrects your current problems your having with PowerDVD 13.

After we have eliminated any ATI drivers problems that may be causing your problem. Then if your still having problems, we will move on to PowereDVD 13 to see if that's you problem.
What's very interesting is I can use any of the Metro UI You Tube programs and ALL Vevo video's work fine.

But, If I use PowerDVD 13 Mobile Vevo Videos don't work just like the Desktop PowerDVD 13 program.

So, by now we can pretty much come to the conclusion that the problem is with PowerDVD 13 desktop and or PowerDVD 13 Metro programs.

That's why Vevo Videos won't play in either PowerDVD 13 programs.
Still can"t play Vevo Videos in PowerDVD 13, Guess I'll have wait for the next update!!! Whenever that might be available.

And still have no idea if they will even address this issue in the next update.

So far NO joy as of 10 -1-13!!!

@stevek

I'm in the US too. However, I'm using Firefox 23.0.1 with plenty of plugins some that block ads. So that's probably why I don't see any advertisements.

I don't see any advertisements on any web pages I visit for that matter. That includes You Tube.

So, that might be the problem why PowerDVD 13 Ultra can't play Vevo Videos. We might have narrowed down what the real problem is with trying to play Vevo Videos in PowerDVD 13. But, It could also be Vevo Videos are encrypted. And they must be played on You Tube's web site directly.

However, it's still totally unclear what the real problem is at this point. Is it You Tube, or is it PowerDVD 13?

Stevek

After reading your post I went to You Tube and played several VEVO Videos.

The VEVO Videos just started playing. There were NO advertisements ever played during playback of any videos.

When I start to try and play a VEVO Video in PowerDVD 13 Ultra my system puts up the warning about PowerDVD 13 can't play the video and gives me a link to You Tube to play the video there.

But, it doesn't crash it just goes to the next video and starts playing it provided it's not a VEVO Video. Then I get the same warning as explained above. So, I don't think that's the problem.
I wish Cyberlink would send out more incremental updates to fix all the problems everybody is having on a more frequent basis.

It would be a real proactive approach to it's customers. I am sure everybody is so tired of how long they have to wait for the next UPDATE to come out, and hope they addressed there specific problem with the program!!!

This is a very poor business model practice on there part. Just think how many customers tell there friends don't buy PowerDVD because of the constant problems with the program, and how long it takes Cyberlink to fix everybody's problems with there software!!!

Huge loss of revenue to Cyberlink!!! What a shame.

@JustinA8HTPC

1) Open up PowerDVD 13

2) Click on the gear icon in the upper top right corner in POwerDVD 13. This opens up the settings screen.

3) Once your in the settings screen click on General. Then go to the bottom of that screen to (MORE Settings) and click that button.

4) This will open up the more settings screen. Now click on the File Association tab. It should be already highlighted.

Now check the box that reads (Play Automatically Upon Inserting Disk).

In addition, If you haven't done so already click on the File Associations button. This will bring up alll the audio and video file types to associate with PowerDVD 13. Check each box that you would like to make PowerDVD 13 the default program to open that type of audio and or video file type. Once your done click the Save button.

5) Once you have checked the (Play Automatically Upon Inserting Disk). box, and associated any file types you want POwerDVD 13 to open by default. Click the OK button which closes the More Settings Screen.

6) Now your back to the Settings Screen. Click the OK button again which will bring you back to PowerDVD 13 main screen and your done.

Any questions leave me a message. Hope this helps.
@CSK

Glad to hear that everything worked out for you.

Now if anybody needs to activate PowerDVD Mobile they will know how to activate it from a Windows 8 Desktop, Laptop, Touch Tablet, and a Surface RT.

EXTEMEDLY IMPORTANT:

Once you get your activation code for PowerDVD Mobile for Ultra make sure you go to Microsoft Store. Once in the store go to the charms bar and put in PowerDVD Mobile for Ultra in the search field. Then click on search and PowerDVD Mobile for Ultra should come up ready for installation.

MAKE SURE YOU PICK THE FREE VERSION TO INSTALL. NOT THE $14.99 VERSION.

If you have installed the PowerDVD Mobile version that cost $14.99 it won't bring up the screen to enter you activation code. It will send you to the buy screen, and or buy website screen.

If you did install this version uninstall it. And then install the PowerDVD Mobile for Ultra that is the free version. Once you install this version and open it up. A screen should pop up asking you to enter your activation code.

Once you enter in your Activation code it will change to the full program with everything enabled.

Hope this helps.

UPDATE: After Stevek just posted his comment above. I opened PowerDVD 13 up to check if I could still play my Vevo Videos like I was able to a couple days ago when they just started working again.

And sure enough it's broken again. Same problem as before. What is going on here. This is ridiculous!!!

I even tried playing Vevo Videos in PowerDVD Mobile and had the same problem as in PowerDVD 13 Ultra desktop program.

I'm just going to wait a few days like I did before and see if the Vevo videos just start working again like they did several days ago.

So far NO joy as of 9-25-13!!!
@jamestroy

The problem I guess was with the You Tube site. I didn't have to change anything with PowerDVD13 Ultra. It just started working again after several days. So, all is well for now.

UPDATE: You Tube must of fixed there problems.

All You Tube Videos are now working again in PowerDVD13. That also includes Vevo Videos.
It seems that You Tube is playing around with there code again. I read somewhere that You Tube is going to start encrypting there videos soon. Especially Vevo video's.

But for right now, the You Tube feature in Cyberlink PowerDVD 13 Ultra is now broken again for the most part. There are still some videos that play, but all the Vevo videos come up with an error message saying PowerDVD can't play this video.

It then gives you a link to You Tube's website to be able to play that video in your web browser. Which totally defeats being able to play You Tube Vevo video's in high quality using PowerDVD 13.

jkauff,

No. I'm not using ReCLock. But why are you running a beta version. Beta versions are usually still pretty buggy. I wouldn't trust a beta version at all through my past experiences.

As I have said before in my first post. I have been having audio troubles with PowerDVD 12 Ultra for at least the last 2-3 updates. I wish they would fix this already.
Jase17uk,

I have found in the past that the support team usually takes approx. 3-days to respond to a support ticket.

However, I have got lucky a couple of times and got a response within 1-2 Days.

You have to remember that your not the only person submitting a support ticket. So you need to be patient.
Lenynokie,

I run Internet Security, Virus, Malware, Malicious Internet sites, Email, Identity Protection software. Spybot Search and Destroy, and MalwareBytes Anti Malware software everyday on my computer to make sure it stays clean of viruses, spyware, malware, malicious Internet sites, Email, Identity Protection, etc.

These programs monitor my computer in real time 24/7. To make sure they catch any problems before anything gets installed on my computer that's not suppose to be on my computer which could infect it in anyway..

My computer is totally clean. And I still have problems with PowerDVD 12 Ultra as I listed above in my first comment.

NOTE: I only do this routine below when PowerDVD 12 Ultra disables my audio and there is no sound. It could be either service not running or it could be both services not running. Personally I always do both just to be on the safe side.

The only way I can get my sound back is to go to SERVICES and stop WINDOWS AUDIO and WINDOWS AUDIO ENDPOINT BUILDER then restart these services back up.

Re: Update build 2625

Lenynokie, I have the exact same problem you are describing above with no sound. Its been a real Problem for quite awhile for me too. It's been going on for several updates so far, and I have submitted a support ticket along time ago.

I sent support all the appropriate files that the support team had requested, and all I get is we will look into this and give these files to the programming staff. The problem has never been rectified to this day.

What I have found is PowerDVD 12 Ultra is constantly shutting these services down for some reason. This happens on various video format (i.e. MP4, MKV, MPG, AVI, etc...). Including You Tube videos.

I'm so irritated at these constant problems. I now play most of my videos, movies, etc... on Windows Media Player, VLC Player, and or DIVX player among others.

Which is a shame because I would prefer using PowerDVD 12 Ultra because the quality is far superior to all the other video programs listed above.

I do video and audio editing and have no problem with audio problems on any other programs i use on a daily basis. Which is at least a half a dozen or more different programs installed on my computer. In addition, this also includes various different DJ editing software.

YOU TUBE VIDEOS: (NEW PROBLEM) Update 2625

You tube videos now play again after 5-months. However with the last Update build 2625 it is still disabling my audio, and now my internet/Ethernet connection goes crazy. After this happens my internet connection goes into a loop saying IDENTIFYING CONNECTION. And I lose my Internet Connection. The only way to rectify this NEW problem so far is to restart my computer. This seems to ONLY happen when trying to play you tube videos. Specifically, when changing the resolution (i.e. 1080P to 720P, etc...) of the video. I wish the program had a feature where the user could choose the highest resolution my computer can play. Which is 720P when streaming You Tube videos.

Unfortunately, my DSL top internet download speed is only 3.0 Mbps. I don't have the luxury of the high internet connection most people have these days in there areas.

This update to fix playing You Tube videos seems to be very buggy. It doesn't run very smoothly as it use to a long time ago. Several updates ago when it use to work before update 2625.

I'm totally disgusted with PowerDVD 12 Ultra!!! PowerDVD 8 thru 11 Ultra worked so much better.

PowerDVD 12 Ultra is fabulous program and would be worth every penny if there weren't one problem after another. What a nightmare.
