Thanks Tony. I don't have CDR but i will try the 30 days trial and see if i can fix it. although it is going to be very tricky to get the colour right for every section, specially since the white balance changes every 30-50 seconds.
If anyone else has sugguests please let me know. Thanks!

Hi,
I have a bit of a problem with a video file i have and i need some help to fix it.
The problem is during the filming for some reason the camera was trying to adjust the white balance when moving around, so when it got closer to the subject the colour would become more vivid, and then when you stepped away from the subject it would become more bright and less vivid, this is happening through out the whole video and it is extremely annoying.
I know you can edit the white balance and colours in PD, but applying the effect on the whole file, would not fix this problem, because of the constant change.
What can i do to solve this problem? is there some way that PD can automatically detect the colour changes and apply a fix to make it more constant?
Thanks!

Hi Tomasc,
You may be right. I am going to try your method, although what is the down side to my 50fps encode? It looks fine like this and audio is in sync.
|

Hi tomasc,
It is from a camcorder and it is a m2ts file not mp4. I actually got it to work. I encoded it to 50fps and seems like it looks nice now, maybe the image quality doesn't look as sharp but at least it looks smooth now, but it is really strange and doesn't make sense to me, why a 25fps video would run smooth at 50fps?
below are details of original video file.

I am still stuck with this problem and need it fixed. Does anyone with knowledge want to check out the file? as i have it uploaded at wetransfer and will send link via pm.
|
|
I actually tried that and still same problem.
|
|
I won't upload this video to youtube. It is more business related. That is why i must get it encoded to mp4.

Hello guys
Thanks for trying to help but i seriously can't figure out why it looks jerky and not as smooth as original source.
I updated to the latest version of PD. The disk that has the video files and where i save the files has around 100gb empty. I tried turning hardware acceleration off and no difference.
I am not completely sure what camera as i wasn't the one filming it. I do know it is a sony camera and recorded in AVCHD format. The video will be a direct download on a website and lower quality as a stream.
As i mentioned since i-SVRT selects the profile AVC 19200 X 1080/50i (24mbps) and if i encode it with this profile, all works perfect. The problem is i don't want to encode it as m2ts file but mp4 but when i select h.264 and change it to mp4 format, there is no profile with 50i.
I did some research and they say 50i, 25i and 25fps are pretty much the samething or very similar. Anyway if i do encode it with a 25fps profile, it just looks jerky for some reason. Maybe i can make a custom profile and add 50i profile for mp4 or something?
If someone wants to take a look. I have uploaded the original and my encoded version but can only share it via PM, as i don't want to make the clips public.

|
Ok i just noticed something strange.
If i select "intelligent SVRT" to encode, it selects H.264 AVC, m2ts with the profile
AVC 19200 X 1080/50i (24mbps)
Why would it select 50i? anyway if i encode it like this, it some how ends up with 25fps and the video looks perfect.
The only problem is i don't want 24mbps. I want around 10mbps and also mp4 not m2ts.

I think your problem is different than mine.

Hi Barry,
It is PD 13.0.2307.0 and i attached the DxDiag files.

Hi,
I noticed once i encode the original video file to mp4 or wmv in 1080 @ 25p. The encoded file doesn't seem as smooth? like the fps doesn't run as smooth if i compare it to the original video.
I have also set it to 25fps in options. Also i have tried it in both PD12 and 13 and keep getting the same result.
Does anyone know why this is? or how i can fix it? below are some info on the files.
Original File
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 25fps [Video - AVC (H.264), High Profile, Level 4.0, 1920x1080, 25.000 fps (1011,e0,00)]

Encoded File WMV
Video: Windows Media Video 9 1920x1080 25fps 10000kbps [Raw Video 1]
Audio: WMA 2 44100Hz stereo 320kbps [Raw Audio 0]
Encoded File MP4

Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to show me. I did find the settings you mention but still don't see any difference, maybe if i encode it with the effect. I might see something. I will have to give it a try.
|
|
I can't share sample video because of the nature of the video, maybe only via private.
I did try flash remover from newblue and it did nothing for me. I can't even see a difference.
All i did was install the plugin and then open up PD and then drag the flash remover effect over the clip in the timeline. It didn't give any options, except for a small icon that says the effect is in this clip.

|
Oh i also noticed there is ColorDirector which i don't have and not sure if there are any features there that might help? Is it worth buying for my problem?

Hi,
What is the best option to try and solve flickering light in a video? I noticed a recent video i had filmed has flickering light all over the frame, it isn't really bad but enough to notice it. It seems to look worse in darker backgrounds.
I would like to know what are the best options in PD to try and minimize it as much as possible.
Thanks!

Hi Dafydd,
Yea sure i can convert the clip and make it readable but it still sucks that PD can't pick-up on the file being corrupt, if it really is a bad file.
The problem is if i have many projects saved with many edits and now if i go and open those saved projects it will be hard to tell if some clips have become corrupt and such, specially with no sign of PD detecting it.
Thanks for your help anyway!

If there is any other info you need please let me know. I don't see the point in making a screenshot of the timeline as there is really no info there apart from showing the clip being 32seconds long.

|
I have disabled shadow files, and have deleted the temporary files manually when i had used the feature in the past.
I didn't get any messages about any files being missing when i had opened my saved project. I now copied the video file to my desktop to make sure it is ok. I then open up PD and drag the media file to the timeline and it still adds it as 32seconds... It gives no warning or nothing about the file being corrupt
Here is the MediaInfo log

Hi
I am having a strange problem. I had edited a clip in the past and all had worked fine, today i went to open my saved edit file and all looked normal except one clip in the timeline was not playing, it almost looked like the video file had been removed from it's location and it was playing a empty container. The time was running but no picture was moving on the clip, every other clip on the timeline was normal.
I then went to the location of the clip and opened it up to see if everything was ok, and all seemed fine. I then deleted the clip from the timeline and re-added it. Now it adds the clip but for some reason it only adds 32 seconds of the clip where as the clip is over 6minutes long.
I then closed PD completely and then opened a fresh empty copy. I then added the same clip to the timeline and still it only adds 32 seconds of it, where as before it was reading the full clip fine. I have checked multiple times now if the clip is ok. all media players play it fine.
I had recently updated to the beta version so i thought maybe that was the problem, so i uninstalled PD and reinstalled it to the latest version without the beta and still same problem.
My specs are below
Windows 7 64bit
i7-3930k
8gb ram
GeForce GTX 580
160gb SSD that PD and video file are on
Video details
Video: MPEG2 Video 1440x1080 (16:9) 29.97fps 25000kbps [Video - MPEG2, Main Profile, High1440 Level, 1440x1080, 29.970 fps, 25.00 mbit/s (0810,e0,00)]

Any ideas?
Thanks
