White balance problem

Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with a video file i have and i need some help to fix it.

The problem is during the filming for some reason the camera was trying to adjust the white balance when moving around, so when it got closer to the subject the colour would become more vivid, and then when you stepped away from the subject it would become more bright and less vivid, this is happening through out the whole video and it is extremely annoying.

I know you can edit the white balance and colours in PD, but applying the effect on the whole file, would not fix this problem, because of the constant change.

What can i do to solve this problem? is there some way that PD can automatically detect the colour changes and apply a fix to make it more constant?

That's a tricky issue. I think you'd find it pretty messy to "fix" it in PDR - not that I've ever attempted it!

In ColorDirector, white balance can be keyframed throughout the clip, creating gradual shifts that may well suit what you need. Of course, if you're not using CDR that's hypothetical.

Thanks Tony. I don't have CDR but i will try the 30 days trial and see if i can fix it. although it is going to be very tricky to get the colour right for every section, specially since the white balance changes every 30-50 seconds.

If anyone else has sugguests please let me know. Thanks!

The only suggestion is for next time, put the camera on a fixed white balance. That way the white balance will only change with the actual lighting in the room. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

In addition to what Carl312 already stated it is best if you shoot with the camera in the manual mode with fixed exposure and without any zooming if your camera supports it.
