You can place text in any position and on any free video track in addition to the Title track.
See attached ... the Text can be positioned by dragging. Three separate is probably the way to go and (if needed) you can copy/paste and then modify each as required. However one of our experts may have a better suggestion

When in the Multi Clip window you can use the 'Delete dustbin' after highlighting the clip you want to restore. It deletes the 'delete' action and can be used in conjunction with 'Invert ... if you get what I mean!
Took a bit of understanding, for me at least

SOLVED IT ... APOLOGIES FOR THREAD!
Can't find an answer though its probably in the forum somewhere.
If when multi trimming you make a mistake how do you revert? It seems that you have to start over which is a bit of a pain if you have already made a number of multi trims. But I'm sure the answer is out there somewhere

That's very strange ... is yours a trial version?
Obviously you know where to look for Crop Image from the video you watched ... see my attachment
Maybe one of our experts knows the answer.

Goodonyer Bob ... I'm waiting and trying to keep the peace with the 'boss' 'cause she knows that I will be kinda busy soon
Thanks for tipping me off that its no probs to install. I get my set also from UK Amazon ... we don't have it here and if we do then its all in some foreign language! Amazon send it within day's and take off UK VAT BUT good old Norway add more in as soon as it hits the shore plus a bit for 'whatever'. You just pay if you want the goods ... PD11 is not listed in the local stores/web stores.
The bit of reading I have so far done about PD11 is very encouraging. I am much an amateur but the fun in all these hobbies is in the journey and not in the ending so they say.

Thanks Tony ... looking forward to playing. Gonna pick up my ext 23" monitor today, do a cut out of the Preview Panel from PD10 and stick it on the monitor ... just to get to know it
I thought of downloading what is available direct from Cyberlink but even the smallest on my broadband would take a long time and would probably fail 3x before I captured it all.

Thanks Neil ... it got me on board

Ordered PowerDirector 11 Ultimate Suite from Amazon today ... can't wait!
Already installed is/was PD9 (disc purchase) which was then upgraded to PD10 online with Cyberlink as a free upgrade due to purchase timing. Can I leave this on my pc temporarily and install the full PD11 before I decide to remove/keep these older programmes? I think the answer is 'yes' based upon this thread but just to be sure ...
What about Wave Editor?

As our experts will know, there are a lot of videos about this new software on the net ... some up to 1 hour in length but maybe not in your language! Below is an example which I think is a good introduction to PD11

... and today I bit the bullet and ordered the PowerDirector 11 Ultimate Suite. Undocking the preview screen to an external monitor will be great for the eyes

Hei David & thanks for helping me out.
I had a good search around and came across this HP Forum thread ... seems to be a solution for me.
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-e-g-Windows-8/Slow-FPS-for-HP-TrueVision-HD-Webcam/td-p/779747
I checked the webcam driver which is current but since the webcam I refer to is the small laptop lid one I guess that it is not a high spec so will limit the quality I can get out of it. I have changed the resolution to 1280 x 720 so it is a bit more acceptable.
Thanks again ... I hope that the HP link will be of assistance to others.

Some months have passed and I now have the latest YouCam 5 installed but the 'lag' that I referred to above has not improved?
I have the settings at 640x480 ... if I set at 1280x720 then I loose the mirror ability?
My pc is well equipped with i7 processor etc.
Any ideas please or is this as good as it gets?

No worries Dafydd ... looks like I will move to PD 11 at some stage in any case.
I tried PD 10 with my HDMI TV ... you can of course drag a Launched Media Viewer (then a separate window) to the ext monitor but you have to close it to continue editing etc. Though a larger screen still has benefit and gives me the opportunity to open my picture editor or other programme in an extended screen set up.

Thanks Dafydd.
My laptop will permit dual monitor to drag a screen across etc ... I think this is a feature of Windows 7.
Obviously a most useful application in PD 10 to enlarge various displays so I'm pleased you confirm there aren't any specific PD 10 limitations.
Is VGA an acceptable connection or is HDMI the preferred interconnect?

I use a laptop and find the 15.6 screen somewhat small when Editing and reviewing/editing the results in the (smaller) top right corner Media Viewer. I am looking to purchase a desktop screen to use as an extension to my laptop. Can I then drag the Media Viewer component of PD 10 to this larger separate screen which also frees up more Timeline space on the laptop screen ... are there any known problems?
I am aware that I will still have the same Preview quality issues to avoid freezing or crashing PD 10 during Editing on my pc.
Thanks in advance
Ron

Thanks for all your replies and the various advice.
I wondered if my process was somehow 'lossy' as it is when, for example, modifying . jpeg pictures but this seems not to be the case. I understand the . jpeg process but am no expert at video.
I'm saving and creating Packed Projects at each logical stage and if any final result is unacceptable then I can always redo from these files ... don't want to mess it up since it is the record of my special '0' birthday stay in Paris and cruise on the Rhine here in Europe No prizes for guessing which special'0'
Thanks again

I am working on a fairly large project, mixed stills & video. Because of its size and the assumed limitations of my pc, I Edit a clip of 10-20 minutes, copy & paste it as a new file and then Produce this section as MPEG2/DVD HQ/Pal. When I have a few semi complete clips I join them up, add extras where appropriate and then Produce these as a larger MPEG2 clip. By the time the complete movie is ready for disc/s it is possible that I have 'reproduced' each early clip some 3 times.
Question: Does this degrade the quality of the finished product? When Producing I do not use SVRT or any of the accelerators.

Thanks for reply Tony.
Maybe the 'default browser' aspects could be worthwhile.
I see no mention of any update problems so I will install. I guess this will be the last for PD10
Ron
Changed my mind! 162Mb download obviously picks up all the prior updates so since all is working well I think I will leave PD10 as-is. PD11 is looking interesting!
|
|
I have just noticed this build update but from reading I don't think that it offers anything that I need.
Should I install it ... maybe some aspects of this update are not mentioned?
|
|
Thought that might be the case but worth checking.
Thanks Ron

Just back from vacation (and still a PD10 user) I thought "Not many new topics in PD10".
Then I realised that PD11 was naturally capturing most interest.
However some topics are useful across the PD versions (particularly 10/11) so is there some way of 'linking them together' to get an overview of all topics perhaps with a small additional vertical column within which is 10 or 11 ... this could also be ' click selective'. There are good examples of this methodology on the net.

Just had a look at ...

Brilliant! Also Part 2 worth looking at.
Thank you for sharing this valuable detail
