Hei Tony,
That's the way I Edited in PD10. Reading the PD11 book made me think that they had introduced new possibilities in Advanced Slideshow Editing. No problem ... will continue to enjoy.
Ron
That's what I concluded Tony ... thanks.
Seems the 'instructions' are somewhat 'slack' as it suggests that you can do Advanced Editing and not 'loose your place in the book'.
Ron
... from a country at currently -15C. Send some warm air to this Aussie Expat
I rather like a couple of the new Slideshow styles but can't quite work out where to Click Finish ...
The User Guide states:

Advanced Editing: click this option if you'd like to perform some more
advanced editing on your slideshow in the Edit window.
Note: if you select the Advanced Editing option, the Slideshow Creator adds
your created slideshow to the timeline in the Edit window as a combined video file.
If you would like to view each individual slide/photo in the slideshow for advanced
editing, just right-click on the file in the timeline and then select Show
Individual Photos.
11. Click Finish.

However, when I Rt Click on the created slideshow file in the timeline to view individual photo's, it seems to revert right back to where I started (before creating a Slideshow) and after any Advanced Editing I can't find any 'Finish' to click.
Anyone know the answer/ is my sight getting that bad
Brilliant
Thanks for these tips.
Ron
Thanks Pix.
After posting here I thought maybe the 'boys' on PD knew the answer.
But the answer was ME. Its good to know that errors are 'personal' rather than product ... completely forgot the possibility that audio settings were in the Preferences. I tried to set only within the Record Audio/Recording Setting/Input source
So many things to remember

I have been using another good audio product but I reckon that AD will pretty much do all I need.

Ron
Same here Michael ... maybe that's why I 'run before I walk' sometimes though others may say 'engage brain before opening mouth'
Got a lot to fit in!
CYa Ron
Thanks Michael ... see my previous post above.
My fault ... all sorted.
Thanks for taking time out for me and apologies for my error. Another learning curve
Thanks Jeff ... will take another walk through all my settings. Obviously something not loaded correctly in my set up. Strange though that it functions correctly in all other programmes, even in PD11.
Ron

Grrr ... missed PREFERENCES/SETTINGS for mics in AD.
All OK now.
Apologies for wasting your time gentlemen ... I am to used to programmes 'grabbing automatically' what is available.
But I've had another learning experience
Hei Jeff, thanks for contact.

I have tried all this without success. The USB mic/headset functions correctly in all other programmes including Audacity, Skype, PD11 in Voice Over etc but Audio Director .... nope!

Do you use USB with Audio Director OK? Anyone else?

Ron

And Michael ... your post came in whilst I was typing! If you could try with Audio Director later I would much appreciate.
I placed the same query on the Audio Director forum but it does not seem to be very active. Maybe someone on this PD11 forum has an answer please.

Even though I have set my Recording Device in 'Sound' to USB Headset I can not select it within the Audio Director programme. All I seem to be able to select is the IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Windows7 64bit pc) in different modes eg mono/stereo.
What am I doing wrong ... a high quality USB headset is all I now use for recording speech.
Hoping for a solution

Note: I do understand the 'dropdown' options but could not make a screen clip of it 'open' ... all options are IDT, none USB Mic.

Thanks Ron
Thanks gentlemen for your replies.

Since posting I today found web pages that explain Python (changed my Search Engine ... usual kept telling me all about 2+ metre pythons ). I knew that it was open source software but now reading that 'The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) specified Python as the language of choice' I am unconcerned. After all the SEC can be trusted

I will remove this from the list of programmes that Secunia check and get back to 100% all OK.

Ref: "An excellent golden rule is "if it works, don't mess with it". Whilst I agree with this basic principle, maybe I am a need to know kind of senior citizen ... I got ''done' once by Java which was correctly working but had not been updated! You will know Java is a classic entry point for those that bode us no good.

Thanks again for taking 'time out' to help.
Ron

SOLVED. MY SETTINGS IN PREFERENCES WAS THE PROBLEM.

Even though I have set my Recording Device in 'Sound' to USB Headset I can not select it within the AD programme. All I seem to be able to select is the IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Windows7 64bit pc) in different modes eg mono/stereo.
What am I doing wrong ... a high quality USB headset is all I use for recording speech.

Thanks Ron
Thanks for your reply. I phrased my post badly
Python was installed with Cyberlink as an imbedded programme ... it does not show up in Installed Programmes as a separate programme. A software that I use (Secunia) checks all installed software and advises where updates need to be done. In the case of Python, since its embedded it may not be a smart to update it, though programmes like this (eg Java) are known for potential security problems.

If there are no members who have knowledge then I will raise it with Cyberlink to see what they suggest.

This is the detail of Python installed within PD11.
This software appears to be included within PD11 Ultimate.
Another programme on my pc is telling me that it is used by Cyberlink and should be updated to a later release. I know nothing about Python except that it is a powerful dynamic programming language.

Should Python be updated to the latest available or is the Cyberlink installed version necessary for 'whatever' it is used for?
Found the thread I was looking for:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/19434.page

Have there been any updates about this that may relate to PD11 etc?
Thanks for this extra info
Ron
When in Produce you are asked to register some of the various formats but not all it seems?
Is there a list of what has to be registered within the stated 30 days?

Are there any other 'registrations' that have to be done in PD11 or Colour Director/Audio Director/Wave Editor 2?

What happens if you do not register within the 30 days ... do you loose access on something you have purchased? I can't believe this is the case but ...? (Have read about this somewhere but can't find it - sorry)

As a side note, today I installed PD11 Ultimate Suite purchased from Amazon. Installed without a hitch as far as I know and all Updates have now been actioned ... ready to roll
Thanks Jim.
A mate of mine has just purchased a Samsung 8000 series 46 inch tv with 3D. Within PD, what 3D settings do I need to produce a short welcome dvd for him? Samsung utilises active shutter ... is this 'left/right side by side' in PD terminology?
Thanks Ron
How rude of me Tommy ... I should have said 'welcome' since you have just joined this forum.
They are a great bunch but you need a sense of humour

PD is a great programme and always something new to learn. Crashes sometimes but in my limited experience this is often 'me' trying to beat my system's capabilities by rushing to fast through the various edits.
Enjoy the journey
Ron
You can place text in any position and on any free video track in addition to the Title track.
See attached ... the Text can be positioned by dragging. Three separate is probably the way to go and (if needed) you can copy/paste and then modify each as required. However one of our experts may have a better suggestion
