You must add picture to Desktop first and then copy it from the Desktop to the BACKGOUND folder, otherwise you will not see it in the Media room in PD.

This also works for PD 14 and PD15.
I turned off *enable HD video processing" and found it was worse.

When importing 3 HD clips into the Media library they turn green instantly, add more clips and again they turn green instantly.

The TL response in ADOBE PE11 with these clips is smooth not so in PD13.

PD has better for disc menus and editing menus than Adobe PE. so I stick with PD13, if I could find away round ADOBE PE menus I would change to PE.

I may have to stick with DV files rather than HDV files untill I upgade to a faster computer for PD.
Hi Jeff thanks for your reply.

The camera used was a SONY HVR-Z5E with a memory recording unit HVR-MRC1 on the back of it.
I have a problem with PD13 UTIMATE with this type of file.

If I just play the clip in the TL, it plays ok.

If I attempt to edit the clip in the TL, PD13 slows down to a point where it is impossible to edit this type of file.

Now if I do the same thing in ADOBE PE 12, there is no problem at all!

I have installed the latest update fpr PD13.

I get the same promlem in WIN7 32BIT WIN7 64BIT AND WIN10 32BIT with PD13

How do I correct this problem in PD13???
This problem has now been solved!
[There is a simpler way than what I stated above to finding the driver.

Type into GOOGLE “siliconguide.com”, this will take you to a data base of drivers for whatever board you have.

Siliconguide.com/drivers/262/ takes you to the driver for NVIDIA 9600 board driver.

Down load to your desktop, click on the down loaded file and it will auto install.

Very quick, no need to uninstall the installed driver!

I have tested this and it worked perfectly in a few seconds.
Hi Carl.
Can I ask you about your system which you show on your page?
The graphics card and the AMD Processor you run does it work well in PD?
I am thinking to upgrade my system.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi Carl.
Thanks for your info.

I found the drivers listed 34.52 and 34.25 would not install and was dated 2015.

My video card is a NVIDIA GEFORCE 9600GT.

I got Nvidia system checker to find a driver for me and it came back with 340-52, now this did install and work but had the problem as described above.

The only solution to the problem was to uninstall and remove driver from the computer.

I then rebooted and waited for Windows to reinstall the driver, this can a while after reboot before it states it is “installing the driver”. You may have to unstall and remove a couple times before you get the best driver.

The Windows driver for me was 8.17.11.9713 dated 15/10/2010, the driver dated 2009 was no good as you could not adjust picture size.

8.17.11.9713 Driver had all the NVIDIA video ajustments, so I found it works perfectly.

PD now works ok all round and now no problem in the PARTICLE ROOM.

I have now made a backup copy of the driver in case I have to reinstall Windows.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem!
I have a problem with the latest NVIDIA drivers.

The problem is, every time I click on Particle Rooms General folder, PD crashes with a report it had a problem with the video driver.

No problem in the other Particle folders.

I have tried different settings in PD hardware acceleration, no joy here!

This was not a problem when I had older versions of NVIDIA drivers.

I have the latest PD12 update installed.

I have tried to reinstall PD12 in Win7 32bit and 64bit. Installed PD 11 with the same problem

I can’t roll back driver.

I can’t install Windows update for NVIDIA, it fails to install every time, it use to install ok and
Worked ok in the past, but will not install.

It works fine with basic Windows 7 32bit and 64bit driver.

Where can I down load older NVIDIA drivers??
Thanks Carl for that info.

I looked all through the FX before and could not find it.
I have looked again and yes you are correct, how did I miss it?

There is a problem with the PD Gaussian blur, you can only add the amount (degree) and length to your clip.

It does not have the facility to adjust the vertical or horizontal, so it’s no more than adding Blur to your clip.
Can you help?
I am looking for adjustable Gaussian blur in PD 12.
I have a small problem with HD video clips of which I would like to use a Gaussian blur plugin.
I have looked thro the effects in PD12 but can't find it.
Is it there?
I have used Gaussian blur in ADOBE PREMIER ELELEMENTS and found it does work on the problem.
As I use PD12 for my projects it would be good to be able to install it in PD if it's not there already.
PS: This discussion needs to be in the other thread.

Thanks SONIC.

Quote: Well, I did extract the files from the 337 driver. The nVidia notes for those drives states: "Notebook drivers are not supported on Windows Vista 32/64-bit Operating Systems".
You can extract the files from an older driver if that's what Vista needs.

But I would not use Vista anymore.

PS: This discussion needs to be in the other thread.

I have been using VISTA with PD11 with my TOWER COMPUTER and (Laptop( WIN 7 64bit)) for over a year with no propblems only when I down loaded the latest driver that I had this problem.

I have now stopped using PD11.

OK I will copy those file from an old driver into the lastest driver.
But cyberlink state "use an older driver", taken from your info link

Thanks SONIC for your help.

Quote: A new Nvidia GeForce driver is now available... (driver# 337.88 )

Do I upload

Should be "Do I download". :
There is no problem with PD12 with an old driver. I can even activate Hardware Acceleration!
I think I will stick to an old driver for my Dual Boot (WIN VISTA /WIN 7 64 bit) Tower Computer.

I do not find a problem with my old HP Laptop running WIN 7 64 BIT PD12.

No that's XP no longer supported.

I did state that this problem I found with VISTA and WIN 7 64BIT.

The patch I only tried on VISTA.
Quote: Did you EXTRACT the files prior to copying them to SYSTEM 32?

DAAAAA..Yes!!
Sorry SoNic.

This did not work for PD12 in VISTA, PATCHED it as the TEXT stated, but it was just the same with latest Driver.340.52.

Had to roll it back the Driver.
Now ok again!

PD11 and PD12 driver problems.
I have a problem with the latest up dated NIVIDIA drivers 9.18.13.4052 and 3788.
When in the PARTICLE ROOM and you click on say the RAIN window, there is a flick on the screen, it then crashes reporting a problem with the driver, this happens in PD11 and PD12.
Both have been reinstalled but still the same problem.
After experimenting I have found a solution until NVIDIA driver is corrected.
I have found driver 4052 and 3788 has this problem but 3523 and 1106 are ok.
What I have found is if you can’t do a ROLLBACK you can if you do the following.
Click on uninstall driver, it will show a check box to delete software, click on this.
Reboot after uninstall, WIN will install a previous driver version, after reboot check driver version or check programme effected.
If no good repeat the previous step deleting software, after REBOOT check problem software.
I had to do this twice and got driver 1106 for PD11 WIN VISTA and 3523 for WIN 7 64 BIT.
Cyberlink Powerdirecter 11 and 12 now works ok.
Unless you know better way??
