PD 13 AVCHD FILE PROBLEMS.

I have a problem with PD13 UTIMATE with this type of file.

If I just play the clip in the TL, it plays ok.

If I attempt to edit the clip in the TL, PD13 slows down to a point where it is impossible to edit this type of file.

Now if I do the same thing in ADOBE PE 12, there is no problem at all!

I have installed the latest update fpr PD13.

I get the same promlem in WIN7 32BIT WIN7 64BIT AND WIN10 32BIT with PD13

How do I correct this problem in PD13???

Post a pic of your timeline.

Post a few more details on the AVCHD file properties, that statement is too generic to potentially see any issue. A MediaInfo of the file or a simple "View Properties" within PD of the clip during your timeline screen capture would help.

The camera used was a SONY HVR-Z5E with a memory recording unit HVR-MRC1 on the back of it.

Since no pic of the timeline makes helping rather difficult, I'll make a guess that you have shadow files turned on (pref > General > Enable HD video processing) and they have not finished generating yet. If any of the left corner of the clips in the media library have a orange film strip I guessed right. If not, I guessed wrong.

If you have a reasonable powered PC, for this video format, one should not need shadow files to proper edit with reasonable timeline response and you can turn them off. If a underpowered PC, simply turn them on and wait until the left corner of all clips in the media library have a green filmstrip. If you add more contents to the media library, you will have to wait again.

I turned off *enable HD video processing" and found it was worse.

When importing 3 HD clips into the Media library they turn green instantly, add more clips and again they turn green instantly.

The TL response in ADOBE PE11 with these clips is smooth not so in PD13.

PD has better for disc menus and editing menus than Adobe PE. so I stick with PD13, if I could find away round ADOBE PE menus I would change to PE.

I may have to stick with DV files rather than HDV files untill I upgade to a faster computer for PD.
