Hi,
You can install the update and if it is not satisfactory roll back to previous driver...create restore point before installation.

Sorry to say, the new driver did not do much for the now 3 months problem with PD12 and
the 700xxx card(s). Same lagging, delays and misbehaviour in Modify (PiP)-window as before.

As before, the continuity of this is described here:

https://www.youtube.com/user/petitpoisvideobits

I fear it will not be set right until (perhaps) PD 13.

Just something.

I installed the new driver last night. Every time I tried to produce a movie (MP4) thereafter, the computer crashed with a WHEA error (running Win 8.1 64-bit). I reinstalled the previous driver (GeForce 335.23), which solved the problem. Guess I'll wait for the next driver down the line.

PD11 and PD12 driver problems.
I have a problem with the latest up dated NIVIDIA drivers 9.18.13.4052 and 3788.
When in the PARTICLE ROOM and you click on say the RAIN window, there is a flick on the screen, it then crashes reporting a problem with the driver, this happens in PD11 and PD12.
Both have been reinstalled but still the same problem.
After experimenting I have found a solution until NVIDIA driver is corrected.
I have found driver 4052 and 3788 has this problem but 3523 and 1106 are ok.
What I have found is if you can’t do a ROLLBACK you can if you do the following.
Click on uninstall driver, it will show a check box to delete software, click on this.
Reboot after uninstall, WIN will install a previous driver version, after reboot check driver version or check programme effected.
If no good repeat the previous step deleting software, after REBOOT check problem software.
I had to do this twice and got driver 1106 for PD11 WIN VISTA and 3523 for WIN 7 64 BIT.
Cyberlink Powerdirecter 11 and 12 now works ok.
Unless you know better way??

Yes, there is a better way. I now use the latest nVidia drivers fixed with this:

Sorry SoNic.

This did not work for PD12 in VISTA, PATCHED it as the TEXT stated, but it was just the same with latest Driver.340.52.

Had to roll it back the Driver.
Now ok again!

Did you EXTRACT the files prior to copying them to SYSTEM 32?
[Post New]
I forgot to say that in txt, I thought is self-explanatory - the files need to be extracted from the zip container.
Also, I noticed that installing a new nVidia driver will usually delete the "nvcuvenc . dll" file, and I need to copy it back to re-activate the hardware.

I am having a new computer built by Dell, and it has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 1GB DDR3. Is that particular card affected by the drivers problem?

Thanks IanB

This is the specs for PD13:
NVIDIA:
GeForce 8500GT/9800GT and above
GeForce GT/GTS/GTX 200/400/500/600 Series

Mine is a 700 series IanB

It's still an entry-level a Kepler (GK208 chip). So it is not very different at all from 600 series... More exactly GT 635, 640 rev2 have the same chip, but double the number of cores.

Only the GTX 750 has the newer Maxwell chip. And it is still not working without the hack.

Ok, Thanks Sonic. I know a little bit about computers, but all that info is to much for me! So I will probably need to downgrade the drivers when I get my computer on 21 October?

Thanks again IanB

Hi M.C.M, having just read your post I noticed you mention VISTA, ( I keeping put my foot in it but here goes ... ) isn't Vista an old OS that is no longer supported, it could be the source of your problems?
