Quote: Hi!

@kingsmeadow. Have you tried to add a 3d menu from the template and then burning it??? Because I just edited a new 3d project about an hour long and chose a 3d menu from the templates that came with the program and it stopped at 22% again while authoring. Then I took the same project and selected No menu and it went thru successfully, played on my 3d tv, awesome quality!!! So, in really thinking my whole problem is all these menus!!! I could be wrong, but that what it seems like!!

I just added a 3D menu which I downloaded from DZ, it was the first one on the 3D list. Inserted it in your 3D clip and it rendered and played perfectly ! Which 3D menu did you choose ? I will try the same one.

Hi!

Well, the ones i tried were the Template 1(with like a monopoly game) and Template 3 (like a broadway sign).

Also, i just took my second project that i've been trying to make and put Template 7 (Children's theme) and it went thru perfectly, just checked it on my 3d tv and everything is perfect, the menu is full screen awesome 3d and the actual movie as well this time! So, now, i guess i just have to take my first project and keep trying menus and find the one that will work for it and wont stop at 22%.
I also thought may be my project is too long (about 73 min), but then when i look at the disk availability, which in my case is 25gb, its only half way full. And, there is an option of 50 gb disk in the drop down box, so, that means the movie could be 2 and 3 hours long, or even 2 or 3 projects in one disk under one menu. Thats why the thoguht that the problem is that the movie is too long is out of the question then. So, im really thinking its has something to do with the menus. I just don't know why!

Hi, Paul!

I've been struggling with trying to burn a 3D BD also (can never pass a 22% mark while authoring) and i read the whole conversation here, but haven't really understood if you figured out weather PD is capable of creating a full 3D BD disk with any problems or not????
Appreciate in advance!!

Well, I see that you said that you just tested a disk and it's a great 3D, but I guess my question is did you still have to produce and save it as a folder and then use it in your project to burn or you actually burned a 3D BD straight from the project right after editing it???
HI, Jim!

Thank you very much for trying to help me!! i really appreciate it!! And if i ever figure out what the problem was, i sure will post it and, hopefully, that will save other people time. )))
HI!

Thank you, Jim! I tried to choose side by side right from the beginning and burned it on BD disk, but when i play it on TV its still side by side, the whole screen is divided in two, which is not what i want. So when i go to 3D tab, and choose the best quality, on the format choice it gives me side by side and 3D BD formats only(and the 3D BD format is what i want). And i do use BD disk for project tries, but it is RW, so i'm not wasting a BD disk every time i'm trying to burn a project! So, i'm still confused!
HI, everyone!

I wish i could finally say that i don't have any problems anymore and moved on to the next project already, but, unfortunately not! After i successfully burned my project and checked it on my 3D TV and it happen to be not really 3D, but just the menu was. I went back and made sure all my video clips were set up to 3D format, which normally the program detects it automatically, but i still did! And tried to burn it again, left overnight, came back in the morning and see it stuck at 22% again.....My frustration was limitless!!! i dont know what else to do!!!! HHHeeeeelllllpppppp!!!!!!!

P.S. Oh, and Jim, i tried to do what you told me: modify, 3d adjust, etc. but this is a little bit different thing, i think, i'm trying to make it a 3D BD format, which is better than red/cyan and side by side, this is full screen, full picture 3D movie. And when i went to modify, it didn't even give me that option to choose. I'm sorry, i might be wrong, but does that make any sense???? But thank you very much for trying to help me!!!! Like i said i would try anything anyone suggests to make it work, i'm determined!!!!
Hello!

My progress so far: I took my original project i've been trying to burn and it went thru successfully finally, even tho it took about 7-10 hours, i think, but it went all the way thru this time. So thank you everyone for helping me trying to figure out why i couldn't do that before.

The verdict is the original video clip has to be on the C drive at the time of working with it on PD.

But...another problem: when i went and checked it on my 3D TV, the movie wasn't 3D at all, except for the menu, that was awesome 3D!!! So, i'm confused why....It's like something always has to go wrong. I'm going to play with it a little more and recheck everything, if i'm doing it right. Maaaaan, this requires so much patience!!!!!!!

P.S. Neil. I also use S*n* V*g*s Pro every once in awhile, but was a little disappointed that you can make a 3D project, edit all you want, thousands of things you can do with it, but...can't burn a 3D BD. What is the whole point of editing if you cant burn it on BD??? so...major disadvantage.
Hi,

Thank you everyone again! Here's what i've tried so far: I tried taking totally different video clips of a separate event about 20 minutes long and tried to burn it 3D BD without any transitions, effects or menus. It worked! Then i took the project i've been struggling with and took all effects, transitions, etc off and tried to burn it, for some crazy reason, it failed again at 22%.
Now i see that Neil asked me a question if i had all my videos stored on my C drive..and the answer is no, because all my videos are stored in a separate additional 3 GB internal hard drive. And i know you would say that could be the problem, BUT why then other project that i created of a separate event worked fine, even tho no effects or transitions were included and those video clips were stored in my 3 gb additional hard drive????
Then i followed your advice and copied those video clips and stored them in my C drive, created a project about 30 minutes long without any effects again, just bare footage and it burned successfully!! So, now i'm totally confused, why all this is happening!
But my next question is since i transfered my video clips to drive C now and it seems that it worked, even tho i haven't tried it with effects and menus yet, but do i have to create a new project and start all over again, cut it, trim it, etc. or there's a way to open the project i already created again and somehow indicate a new path to my video clips that are stored in the drive C now????

Also, thank you, Jim, for a "graphics card driver update" advice, i did that too..that might have helped as well!
Here's a little clip for test:
Hi,

ok, I'm sorry, i might have misunderstood you, because, for some reason, i thought you need me to send that particular video clips I'm having problems with, not just any.. But I'll do what you suggested here shortly. Thank you!
Hi, Neil!

Thank you again for looking into my issue, i really appreciate your time.
I only have one question, and it might be a little silly, but how do you get a 5 sec out of the video clip if the only way i can cut it is with the help of PD but then again i cant produce it... I'm sorry, i'm a little bit confused on how to do it.....
Hi, Neil!

Thank you for the tips and here's the attachments of what you asked, i hope!
Keeping my fingers crossed and looking forward to finding out what the problem is!
And thank you for your help again!
Hi, Neil!

I just tried to produce BD 1920/1080 and it stopped at 2% again..

Here is what im working with:
1. PowerDirector Ultra 10
2. HP Pavillion Elite HPE
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 925 Processor 2.80 Ghz
RAM: 8GB, Windows 7, 64-bit, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
3. Camera: HDR TD-10
4. And how do i get a 5-10 sec clip out of my videos and paste it here to test, they all are too long... its probably a silly question, but for some reason i cant figure it out!
"Hi Elina

Can you go to the Produce tab and set the profile to MPEG2 DVD HQ and press Produce

This will render (produce) your file. It will be saved in your export folder usually found in My Videos.

I want to ascertain if it's a render issue or DVD rewrite/burn issue

Hi Neil!
Thank you again. I did what you said, i produced my project to MPEG2 DVD HQ with no problems, even tho i was a little confused why you want me to try to produce it to this particular format, when im trying to burn or produce a 3d BD. But i did it anyways and the rendering went 100% with no errors. But... after i did that i went ahead and tried to do the same and produce it in H.264 AVC (which i believe the best format to produce 3D Blu ray) and i left it for couple hours, it got stuck at 2%....
So, im still not sure what is going on!

Thank you,

Elina

Hi Neil!
i just followed your advice and took my 73 minute project and the calculations led to 16 minute range, i took the transition out from where two clips meet at a 16 minute marker and i trimmed a little bit from both clips. Tried to burn it again and the same thing.
Here is the detailed problem that happens, it goes up to 20% within like 3 minutes and then when it goes to 21%, it stays there for couple minutes, then the screen flickers one time and then the "time remaining" appears....and thats it. sometimes it goes to 22%, but doesnt go any further. This same thing happens every time. I tried leaving it overnight, come back in the morning, still 22%.
Anything else i can do?
I apologize for that Tony. It's my fault for starting this subject under 5.1 BD topic. I realized that after I did it... I'm sorry..
I'm just really trying to figure out what the problem is with my project! I'll try anything anybody will suggest if I haven't tried that already. Thank you everyone in advance!
Does anyone have the same problem or it's just me?
Also to Neil
Is there a way to switch your storyline to show procentage tile instead of minutes to see where exactly is the problem? because i have no idea where is my mistake... (
Thank you!
but again, i tried everything, including removing everything that i've created leaving a pure movie, but still the same problem. i've been looking for a program that edits and outputs a 3d project to a blu ray for so long and finally when i thought i found it, it still gives me problems. I have a whole year worth of 3d footage to burn and still cant even produce one disk!!!!
Nobody else has any problems with burning 3d project on a blu ray?
Thank you, Jim!
But the problem is it always stops at 22% authoring.....
and i read somewhere that it is connected with a menu...but i tried all kinds of menus and even no menu and still the same problem...i am so dissapointed!!! ... (((

And actually i just checked my settings for speed and there's only option is 2.3, thats all... ((
