My 3d project stops at 22% while burning on a blu ray disk every time, no matter what kind of menu i choose or even without a menu. I have tried everything so far and no luck, any suggestions?

"Hi Elina

Can you go to the Produce tab and set the profile to MPEG2 DVD HQ and press Produce

This will render (produce) your file. It will be saved in your export folder usually found in My Videos.

I want to ascertain if it's a render issue or DVD rewrite/burn issue
Neil

Hi Neil!
Thank you again. I did what you said, i produced my project to MPEG2 DVD HQ with no problems, even tho i was a little confused why you want me to try to produce it to this particular format, when im trying to burn or produce a 3d BD. But i did it anyways and the rendering went 100% with no errors. But... after i did that i went ahead and tried to do the same and produce it in H.264 AVC (which i believe the best format to produce 3D Blu ray) and i left it for couple hours, it got stuck at 2%....
So, im still not sure what is going on!

Thank you,

Elina Thank you,

Elina

Hi Elina

It seems odd that you can Produce an MPEG2 but not an AVC file - which incidently is the right file for a BD - however so is the MPEG BD1920x1080 profile - which you could try as per my last message in the previous thread.

I thinkk it's probably best that if the BD1920x1080 produce doesn't work is to provide a DXDiag file as per the link so we can 'look' at your computer.

Before ypu post a clip from your Sony HDRTD10 (btw I have seen a similar problem to yours in this Forum) can you post a dxdiag file. Use the Post Reply button NOT the quick reply to attach files.

"PART B - How To create a Diagnostic File
1. Click START icon
2. In the Search box (XP users click RUN to see this box) type: DXDIAG and press <ENTER>
3. In the window that opens, select the <SAVE ALL INFORMATION> button and save the file somewhere you can find it (like your desktop).
NOTE: save as ****DxDiag.txt, (Replacing the **** with your name - to identify your file when downloaded).
4. If you know you have 64bit Windows, also select the <Run 64BIT DXDIAG> button and save a SECOND file as 64****DxDiag.txt, (again replacing the **** with your name).
5. Use a zip or rar program to package the data (recommended).
6. Return to the forum thread and click <POST REPLY> (not Quick reply) button in the thread.
7. Click the <ATTACHMENTS> button and attach the file(s).
8. Click <SUBMIT>
The Diagnostic file(s) will be needed by PowerDirector Editors on the forum & CyberLink Technical Support to analyze your PC set up."

Hi Elina

Thanks for attaching the dx files.

I'm not that technically minded when it comes to those (other members here have much more knowledge).

However a couple of things did 'grab' my attention.

There is other software (Pinnacle and Roxio) which might be conflicting the PD10 config. Do not remove though.

Is PD10 installed on your C drive with the source files you using on the C drive as well?

Good video editing practice is to ensure all media files - video, photos music etc - are on the C drive so when when you save a PD project it creates a PDS file that contains all the information it needs to know to find those source files again.

Check out this post for my preference settings: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21624.page

As I mentioned earlier there is a similar thread concerning the same camera as yours http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21591.page

I have sent a PM to the Moderator - Dafydd - to see if he can assist - or look into this issue as both threads might have the same outcome.

In the meantime if you can post a 5 sec clip using the same method as before so members can test.

There's a solution out there somewhere...

Hi, Neil!

Thank you again for looking into my issue, i really appreciate your time.
I only have one question, and it might be a little silly, but how do you get a 5 sec out of the video clip if the only way i can cut it is with the help of PD but then again i cant produce it... I'm sorry, i'm a little bit confused on how to do it..... Thank you,

Hi Elina

The 3D clip worked OK in PD10.

I produced it to many 3D profiles - I don't use 3D myself. I did discover the SVRT would not work nor recognise the clip a needing NO rendering

Can you please explain your work flow eg.

1. Plug camera into computer
2. Transfer files to harddrive

Etc etc.

I believe we could be missing something here in the workflow.

Are you sure your video files are on your C drive and not still in the memory of your camera??? Happing editing

Hi,

Thank you everyone again! Here's what i've tried so far: I tried taking totally different video clips of a separate event about 20 minutes long and tried to burn it 3D BD without any transitions, effects or menus. It worked! Then i took the project i've been struggling with and took all effects, transitions, etc off and tried to burn it, for some crazy reason, it failed again at 22%.
Now i see that Neil asked me a question if i had all my videos stored on my C drive..and the answer is no, because all my videos are stored in a separate additional 3 GB internal hard drive. And i know you would say that could be the problem, BUT why then other project that i created of a separate event worked fine, even tho no effects or transitions were included and those video clips were stored in my 3 gb additional hard drive????
Then i followed your advice and copied those video clips and stored them in my C drive, created a project about 30 minutes long without any effects again, just bare footage and it burned successfully!! So, now i'm totally confused, why all this is happening!
But my next question is since i transfered my video clips to drive C now and it seems that it worked, even tho i haven't tried it with effects and menus yet, but do i have to create a new project and start all over again, cut it, trim it, etc. or there's a way to open the project i already created again and somehow indicate a new path to my video clips that are stored in the drive C now????

Also, thank you, Jim, for a "graphics card driver update" advice, i did that too..that might have helped as well! Thank you,

Elina

Hi,
glad you got it working (somewhat). If you load PD10 and select the project that is giving you trouble..it may just ask to browse to find the videos files you moved..so browse to where you moved them. I think that once PD finds the video footage all your additions should work...as pD stores that info in a XML file.

Hi Elina

Hooray!

I've always found it is prudent to have your source video files on your C drive (usually the same place your video editing software is), especially when dealing with High Definition (HD) and now the new HD3D video files.

I use another couple of video editing software S*n* V*g*s Pro on my PC and FCP on my Mac and they work a lot better when the source files are located on C/primary drive.

After I have finished my project (Produced an AVCHD, BD1920x1080 and burnt to Blu Ray and DVD,) and I'm totally happy, that I move the Produced files to my 2TB external drive. This can free up about 40GB on my C Drive.

I am please things are starting to proceed for you.

All the best Happing editing

Hello!

My progress so far: I took my original project i've been trying to burn and it went thru successfully finally, even tho it took about 7-10 hours, i think, but it went all the way thru this time. So thank you everyone for helping me trying to figure out why i couldn't do that before.

The verdict is the original video clip has to be on the C drive at the time of working with it on PD.

But...another problem: when i went and checked it on my 3D TV, the movie wasn't 3D at all, except for the menu, that was awesome 3D!!! So, i'm confused why....It's like something always has to go wrong. I'm going to play with it a little more and recheck everything, if i'm doing it right. Maaaaan, this requires so much patience!!!!!!!

P.S. Neil. I also use S*n* V*g*s Pro every once in awhile, but was a little disappointed that you can make a 3D project, edit all you want, thousands of things you can do with it, but...can't burn a 3D BD. What is the whole point of editing if you cant burn it on BD??? so...major disadvantage.

Hi Elina,
Well glad to hear you got things to work finally. But on your original project that was giving you problems, when you have edit on in the main timeline (the one with videos) select the track one videos select the video and then 'modify', then select the 'light bulb with arrow' and from within that select enable 3D and adjust (you will get a choice of what type of 3D anaglyph (red/cyan) or side by side) the side by side is (i believe) the new format which is a better quality than red/cyan, but the new format requires newer TV to support it.
Jim
p.s. This will increase the time for disc creation tho' unless you have a POWERFUL system.

HI, everyone!

I wish i could finally say that i don't have any problems anymore and moved on to the next project already, but, unfortunately not! After i successfully burned my project and checked it on my 3D TV and it happen to be not really 3D, but just the menu was. I went back and made sure all my video clips were set up to 3D format, which normally the program detects it automatically, but i still did! And tried to burn it again, left overnight, came back in the morning and see it stuck at 22% again.....My frustration was limitless!!! i dont know what else to do!!!! HHHeeeeelllllpppppp!!!!!!!

P.S. Oh, and Jim, i tried to do what you told me: modify, 3d adjust, etc. but this is a little bit different thing, i think, i'm trying to make it a 3D BD format, which is better than red/cyan and side by side, this is full screen, full picture 3D movie. And when i went to modify, it didn't even give me that option to choose. I'm sorry, i might be wrong, but does that make any sense???? But thank you very much for trying to help me!!!! Like i said i would try anything anyone suggests to make it work, i'm determined!!!!
