Recording with a USB Mic

I placed the same query on the Audio Director forum but it does not seem to be very active. Maybe someone on this PD11 forum has an answer please.

Even though I have set my Recording Device in 'Sound' to USB Headset I can not select it within the Audio Director programme. All I seem to be able to select is the IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Windows7 64bit pc) in different modes eg mono/stereo.
What am I doing wrong ... a high quality USB headset is all I now use for recording speech.
Hoping for a solution

Note: I do understand the 'dropdown' options but could not make a screen clip of it 'open' ... all options are IDT, none USB Mic.

Thanks Ron

You might try a right click on the windows speaker icon in the Windows system tray, then recording devices, do you see it listed there? If not, right mouse click in the recording device window and enable "Show Disabled Devices"

Open AD again and see if you now have the USB mic.

I have use a USB Headset in Power Director before. But I dd not go in to Audio Director. I just wanted to record my voice a little to say somethng about the video. I just hit the mic deal in PD. I will have to look at it later on today I'm on my laptop right now. Intel i7 5960X overclock to 4 Ghz 16 GB of ram.

Hei Jeff, thanks for contact.

I have tried all this without success. The USB mic/headset functions correctly in all other programmes including Audacity, Skype, PD11 in Voice Over etc but Audio Director .... nope!

Do you use USB with Audio Director OK? Anyone else?

Ron

And Michael ... your post came in whilst I was typing! If you could try with Audio Director later I would much appreciate.

Yes, my headset works fine in AD and I use it often. It appears as two single channels (L/R) and stereo as shown below.

Thanks Jeff ... will take another walk through all my settings. Obviously something not loaded correctly in my set up. Strange though that it functions correctly in all other programmes, even in PD11.
Ron

Grrr ... missed PREFERENCES/SETTINGS for mics in AD.
All OK now.
Apologies for wasting your time gentlemen ... I am to used to programmes 'grabbing automatically' what is available.
But I've had another learning experience

Same here Michael ... maybe that's why I 'run before I walk' sometimes though others may say 'engage brain before opening mouth'
Got a lot to fit in!
