No answer?

So, will have to presume PD9 (or later) are incapable to defish!

Thanks anyway!

Hi,
I have a Sony NEX-5N camera and one of my favorite lens is a fisheye. With my photo software I am able to "defish" (flaten the circular effect of a fisheye). I also notice on the Web that GoPro* software is capable of defish a video, which is normal since GoPro* cameras have fisheye lens!

I have PowerDirector 9 and I was wondering if the software would be capable to defish the videos I have shoot with my fisheye lens?

Can anyone answer? If not, is the new version of PD (11) able to do it? If not, except for GoPro* and Premiere*, do you know any software capable of this effect?

Thanks
Hi,

I have made a video clip using a camera who had XLR mic in. Unfortunately, I recorded only on the right side of the stereo tracks (had one mic only). When captured and edited the video, can only hear the sound from the right side speaker.

I imported the sound track in WaveEditor* but could not find how to merge into a mono track. Also look at changing setting when producing the video, but again could not find how to convert into mono (while keeping the high quality video). All the choices in audio were stereo only in the drop down menu.

Again, many thanks for your help and consideration.

Hi everyone,

finally found a solution to my problem and wanted to share.

Still cannot hear the narrator but if plug earphone or external speaker to the X61 tablet via the headphone 3.5mm jack can hear the narrator ! Also found out that on some very rare equipment with small speaker can also happen (eg: speaker o a cam).

What I would like to know is why it is happening?

At least now the reps can use the DVD or mpeg2 file on their computer using external amplified speaker.

Thanks for all your comments and help

Yes I did ! Same results.

Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone,

I am quite desperate! I downloaded VLC Player and still the same problem!

Made a MPEG2 file on a USB stick (780mb) and had the same problem.

The reps have a Lenovo X61 tablet computer (WinXP Pro OS). Check the audio codec and seems Ok.

Borrow my son Avatar* DVD movie and did play correctly on the X61 computer (with VLC or WinDVD).

What even more weird, burn a DVD with Windows Live Movie Maker and had the same problem! However used the mpeg file created with PD8.

Seems to be an incompatible audio set up of the X61! Need to address it since cannot make the reps change all their X61. Wish I could!

Thanks to all for your help.

Hi,

I have tried to produce a DVD with a separate voice track and had same result, no sound during the narration.

What really puzzled me is the fact that the music track is okay while the narration is not ... what the difference in recording?

Just burn a version using Windows Live Movie Maker to see if the DVD will work on their tablets. Meeting rep this PM to test it.

What if produce high quality AVI and use to it to burn a DVD?

Many thanks for your help.

Hi,

Here's a screen snap shot of the DVD Menu. Would like to edit this sample image of the DVD (crop or center image differently). Hope this image will help to visualized my problem.

Many thanks.
Thanks Jaime,

The Lenovo tablet is a Windows XP OS, not Linux. Yes, I have made a different copy of the DVD were I placed the narrator voice on a separate Voice Track. Couldn't do it for the small PiP Track. Waiting for an answer from the rep who is testing it.

In the meantime, I will search for a cheap or free DVD player for WinXP based computer.

If you have any suggestion for a free DVD Player that is easy to install and highly compatible (good codec pack), please let me know.

Many thanks.

Hi, recently I completed a video presentation for a group of sale reps. Burn the video on DVD (DVD-R) and the audio setting were on Dolby Digital (2 channels). Even tried it on the sound setting to LPCM. The DVD work well on different players such as a computers and home DVD players (LG). It also started and playback well in at least 2 different software, such as PowerDVD* and even Windows Media Player*.

However, when tested it on the external DVD player on the reps (2 of them) Tablet computer (Lenovo) the narration was missing! The DVD intro and closing music worked! If you placed your ear close to the tablet speaker you could barely hear the voice of the narrator. So, the video track sound doesn't seem to work! I have 2 video track on the DVD, one on the Master Video Track and one on the PiP 1 Track. Both do not work! The DVD was played on WinDVD* (the Tablet default DVD player) and Windows Media Player*, same results. Even the a mpg4 video file did not have the narrator sound (yes with the music).

Before I scrap lots of DVD disc, can anyone give me some sort of diagnostic ideas? Here are the next avenues I am looking at:
Burn on a DVD+R disc instead of a -R.
Split the audio track from the Master Video and send it to a Voice Track (cannot split the PiP sound track?)
Download and install a different player which has updated codecs package (eg: DIVX* player and codec pack)
Try a AVI file instead of a mpg4. Don't like the video file instead of the DVD because loosing the Chapters which are useful to the reps.

Any other idea?

I need to prepare this very soon, so any quick feedbacks are quite welcome!

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me with.

Hi,

still in my learning curve on PD8. Have made my 1st DVD with menus.

The only real thing that bother me about it is that I have not found a way to edit the image on the main menu of a DVD disc creation?

Rigth now it shows a portion of the image (in a portrait style) I selected for it in the Chapter Edit, but it zoom on a portion that doesn't reveal much about the content of the DVD. I know the image rotates and may be ok, but more often it shows a portion thats not very revealing for the user.

Is there a way to edit this picture of the main menu? Mostly interested to zoom out or crop at a different area of the picture.

Thanks.
