I have a possible fix (very temporary) that needs testing. I have sent a few emails out (to those I have in this thread) asking them to test and report back.
If you want to test on your system you'll need to have 2209 installed (again). Contact me via PM.

I personally haven't had any issue with 2209, for now with what I've tested so far. But that could change.

So, can you tell us what are the circumstances that trigger the problem or, said differently, how does the temporary patch resolve the issue, what's been fixed ? I7-4770, 3.40Ghz, 16GB RAM, Asus Z87-Plus Z87chipset, Sapphire ATI Radeon HD7850 PCI Express-16 3.0 2GB, Samsung EVO 840 SSD 1TB

I didn't see any noticeable delays in 2209 when I just made a 5 minute 1080/60p video with 6 .mts clips and a dozen transitions, but I did see about a 30 second load time for a 1 hour 1080/30p project. The progress went smoothly thru about 67% (opening up clips in the library), then it took another 20 seconds to get to 100% - which I think it said it was updating the timeline.

Also, there was no delay going from Edit to Produce in the new/short project, but about 30 seconds went by before the older/longer mode brought up the Produce screen.

Neil,
Have you not received the "fix" for the 2209 issue I sent you (via email) to test? From the reports I've received back so far, it works.

Hi, Dafydd,

Running PD12 under W 8.1, and having the same issue with 2209, could you send me this fix to test? Jean-Paul

After spending three hours this past weekend installing/re-installing, power director is once again locking up on me. Emailed cyberlink support again. May be time to look at other products.

Hi flatwaters,
I think you should try out the temp fix and see if that resolves your issue. A corrective patch will be released soon.

The fix definitely worked for me as well!

I can also confirm that my current short project used LPCM audio and had none of the symptoms, and the longer project that experienced the delays was recorded with Dolby Digital.

I then followed the instructions and replaced the x64 dll file, and the longer project loaded in 1 second and instantly responded when I clicked Produce. Problem solved :

Hi Dafydd
Do you have to delete the temporary fix before you install the soon-to-be released corrective patch?

Hi Neil,
When CyberLink issues/releases an executable patch and you install it, any files that should be replaced, over written etc will be done. The fix I've provided replaces a specific driver causing the issue and forms part of the PDR12 program structure. A CyberLink update patch can replace it and any file similarly named.

Quote: When will the new patch be released?

Hi jrburke99,
When CyberLink have completed the testing etc - I don't have a date.

Dafydd

Hi Dafydd

Are you able to send me the 'fix', have not tried the 2209 patch yet because of the feedback on the forum but have Windows 8.1 and I understand the patch is designed to integrate PD12 better with 8.1?

Thanks
