Hi Nathan,
First off thanks for the response.
So, I want to make sure that I fully understand your last 2 posts.

Are you telling me that it would not make any difference if I were to use AE Writer to extract my TM-700 files from the cam, or just take them from the stream raw..
Or is it Vice Versa?
Where and When does my files have this "Rich Video" information.
Granted that if I had to Repair or Add this "Rich Video" Information to each file prior to transferring into PD9 for rendering
can be rather time consuming.
I performed this function to files in the MB size, I can imagine how long it would take for a max 4 GB file.
I do know that performing this one step did repair my Audio.

My transition though did not work as my files just joined together, one to the other...I did increase my Transition from 2 seconds to 3 seconds, and to a Crossover Transition.
I will try and put that back to 2 sec. and remove the Crossover Transition option.

I just downloaded the PDF manual so I think that I need to do some reading.

Thanks again,

Hi Bud, I see not difference between the file types in PD9. I'm not sure what you mean regarding the refernces to generating "rich video" info (is this in PD9 or some other prog?....PD9 reads the info just fine for me from both the M2T and the M2TS).

By the way - the difference between the two is not the content or how they are muxed in the container but:
- The Cam users a AVCHD Stucture where each M2T clip is part of a playlist
- When Copied via AE Writer 2.1 it grabs each M2T and puts in on the PC as M2TS PD 64 Bit-Win10 64 Bit-32GB RAM-80TB HDD

Hi again,
In the Project Library section and the Import drop down selection of "Import Media Files" or "Import a Media Folder."
At first I was selecting "Import Media Files" and then choosing to import an individual TM-700 Files.
In the selection box that opens and after choosing a File, that is where the question of "Rich Video" comes up.

In my still learning curve and reading the PD9 pdf I learned how to expand the Project Library Window on the left
side, so I can start a "New Folder" and then Imported a Media Folder to the new Folder.
This populates the "Project Library" area with content.
This is much better and quicker than going after Individual Files.
My other computer has HD Writer 2.1 on it, and so when I go to the "Library" and then "Videos"
the drop down list just shows my AE Writer folders with dates as opposed to individual files.

Another funny thing is that on my HP Computer, when I try to find my Profile.ini I went to "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\9.0", except after my username there is not an AppData Folder.. Go Figure!
I have to check with HP and see why it is Different, I would think that all Win7 Structure would be the same.
I do however notice some differences between my Gateway with Win7 Home Premium and my HP with Win7 Home Premium.
Obviously Microsoft makes some OS changes per Computer Vendor, I'll check with HP in regard to where the AddData Folder is.
Crazy...I'm still learning.

Thanks for your help and concern

Bud

Thanks for that, I will check it next time I have my HP Powered up, but I am sure that that is it.

bud , another way, I had the same problem with my HP, (couldn't find the path for the life of me )
open ....pd9 go to preferences.......project.... then copy and paste the default link in the "browse" area to search in windows and it will take you to the folders you need for access. no idea why my Hp wouldn't let me do it , but Jmone had the real way.

Question to pjc3 regarding his instructions for setting a custom profile when rendering a file. I select the Profile name/Quality as 1080x1920@24mbps as you state. The "Profile type" menu is "Default". If I try to select "custom" a window pops up and says, "There are no customized profiles available. Select one from another profile group." Am I in the wrong place? Am I misunderstanding your instructions? I am new to PD9 and my new Panasonic HDC-TM700 camcorder, but no new of video editing software, and want to produce the highest quality video I can to watch on my HD TV. I hope you can help.
Have Windows 7-64 on HP Elite e9280t with i7-950 processor, 12 GB ram, 1.8GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 260.

Thanks.

Hi Linda,
You're in the right place you need to adapt a default template and then save it as a custom one. Please see image.
Thanks
Dafydd

"titles", should be "titled" - a typo.

One slight change from Dafydd's suggestion is that you need to create the custom profile under the H.264/AVC menu rather than MPEG-4

It is good to see the rise in popularity of AVC/264 50 and 60p material! Dafydd do you have any insight into Cyberlinks bug fixes in this area?

Thanks

Hi Nathan,
I get a bug fix report the day after (time-zone thing) the release of a patch. Issues which are or will be fixed are in the hands of R&D at CyberLink and depend upon what internal decisions CyberLink make.

Bugs reported by me (forum members) are answered/acknowledged when replicated. whether these bugs become part of a patch is entirely in CL's control.

I "know nuffing" basically on what fixes will be made, R&D are pretty cagey with this info.

Thanks
Dafydd

Hello,

I have created a custom profile and the edited movies (m2ts) look fantastic on my laptop.

Now I would like to play them on my tv, but the PS3 says "incompatibe data type". The original movies play perfectly on the PS3.

How can I show the edited movies on my TV? preferable with the PS3. Dell Latitude E6520 | I7 2720QM | 8GB | Nvidia NVS 4200M 1GB| Win 7 64 bit

hasham,

I use Panosonic TM200 FULL HD handy cam and so far I have not encounted a single crash. The Power Director version I use is later than yours and the hardware/software spec are as follows.

PowerDirector : Version 9.0.0.2702
Camera : Panosonic TM200
Operating System : Windows 7 home Premium 64Bit
System : Acer Aspire 5750G
CPU : intel Core i7-2630QM 2Ghz
Graphic Card : NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 1760MB TurboCache
RAM : 4GB DDR3 Memory

You may try requesting the PD version 9.0.0.2702 from support or download from cyberlink site.
Hope it helps...

I did miss the relevance the first time I read the post.
I tried the batch file and YES I can now play the files on the PS3

However when I play original clips from the camera, the picture quality is excelent and all clips plays flawlessly.
When I play edited movies (which are afterwards muxed and remuxed with fixpd9), the clips are extremely choppy.

On my I7-2720QM laptop the clip fixed with fixpd9 plays smoothly without a problem. What am I doing wrong?

the fixpd9 created the following log:

TS, 1 video track, 1 audio track, 0:04:20
1: h264/AVC, unknown parameters
2: AC3, 5.1 channels, 448kbps, 48kHz, 8ms

Quote: Here is:
1) Original.m2ts: the original test file I use (it is 1mn05sec so to allow SVRT but it is almost 200MB)
2) Produce_10.m2ts: Created with SVRT ON and a title added at the 25sec point. You will see the issue as the title ends.

Thanks
Nathan

*** EDIT - Removed Files - Will repost with another (quicker) link ***

Hi Jmone

First let me start - what a great thread!

I have PD 9.0.0.2504 64 ultra. Have W7 on i5 4GB Nvidia card. I have Panasonic SD90 (capable of 1080p50).

I dont see any problem with your file Produce_10.m2ts(!). Thats great for me, because if I add title/text during a recording I have some problem with the video (looks like not enough fps).

EDIT: please click direct links to every photos because forum is too small to show a photo in full size. Some screenshots are cropped from the right.
What I did:
1. Created custom profile as all you advised
A) video:

Link to photo if problem on forum: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/upload/oldPostImages/87269_1.png

By the way - what about the last two parameters:
+ Advanced: speed/quality indicatior?
+use deblocking??

B) audio:

Link to photo if problem on forum:http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961099.jpeg

and then I edit the profile.ini (put 24500000 as average and 28000000 as a max):

Link to photo if problem on forum:http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961100.jpeg

What about CPU, GPU, SVRT parameters. Please correct me:
2. Turn on/off CPU processing - is it done by this tick box?

Link to photo if problem on forum: http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961104.jpeg

Turn off Nvidia CUDA - do you have the same settings?

Link to photo if problem on forum: http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961105.jpeg

I turn on/of reduce video ....???

Link to photo if problem on forum: http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961106.jpeg

What about "allow SVRT...." Do you runt that on as a default or its uncheck here and you click SVRT once per film in Produce mode:

Link to photo if problem on forum: http://www.bankfotek.pl/image/961108.jpeg

When I just export the original video without any "text" then everything is fine (after of course I do fixPd9.bat file- GREAT!). But when I add some text (and even I run fixPD9.bat) I have some "loss of frames" during the "text timeline" when played even on computer. What I do wrong? Is is because of different version of PD9? (you seems to have 2702 and I have 2504)? Or I configure something wrong?

EDIT: To write everything perfect: based on the parameters (SVRT,CUDA or Enable HD video processing (shadow file)) I get different effect. In some scenarios I miss some fps only during a period when a "text field in timeline" is display. Sometimes I get louse fps from the perion when the "text field in timeline" is displayed and till the end of the movie. All in all I dont have perfect 1080p50 clip after some editing (text).

Many thanks for the effort and HELP!!!!

OK Jmone I got you!!!
Ive check your file and mine - THERE IS NO problem with edited 1080p50 films (for example TEXT) ONLY when you left original video bitrate and max (2250!).When you change to 2450 and max 2800 then you got the problem...
