OK Jmone I got you!!!
Ive check your file and mine - THERE IS NO problem with edited 1080p50 films (for example TEXT) ONLY when you left original video bitrate and max (2250!).When you change to 2450 and max 2800 then you got the problem...

I did a lot of test with newer version of PD (2702). Its seems to me that you get frame degradation when add "text field" to timeline and you tick "Enable HD video processing (Shadow file)" as YES. I have i5 and I found problems.

When this is uncheck then everything is fine (high profile 4.2 4 frames etc)

Glad it is working. FYI in 2702 I've found I the profile you can make in PD9 is fine with both CPU and SVRT processing with the following settings (and no need to edit the custom profile manually)
VIDEO
Resolution: 1920x1080
Frame Rate: 50 (for me, could be 60)
Frame Type: Progressive
Profile Type: High Profile
Entropy codeing: CABAC
Averate Bitrate: 22500
Advanced Slider: All the way to the right
Use deblocking: Checked

AUDIO
Audio Compression: Dolby Digital
Audio Channel: Dolby Digital 5.1
Audio Compression Rate: 384

I'm going to do some PS3 compatibility testing shortly and will post the results.

Thanks

For those still following this thread, I just cross graded my GPU from the ATI5770 to a nvidia 450 for "fun" and the results of a quick rendering test is very encouraging. The GPU results are much better on the 450 than the 5770 in that you get a a true AVC 50/60p encode! Also (oddly) the SVRT results with a text overlay where it drops back from SVRT did not seem to have a smooth transition unlike my last test using the 5770.

You still get an oddly muxed file at the end of the process so I still suggest using the "FixPD9" process to remux the Audio and Video Streams correctly. ***EDIT*** I am seeing some lip sync issues with GPU rendered content that is then run through PD9FIX. I'll have to have a look on the Weekend (I will not get a chance earlier).

Anyway.....at this point I'd recommend nvidia over ATI if you want to output AVC 50 or 60p (and these results are in line with pjc3 experience).

Are you seeing any lipsync issues with GPU rendering and FixPD9? PD 64 Bit-Win10 64 Bit-32GB RAM-80TB HDD

None that I have noticed. However I don't use FixPD9 routinely as my nVidia rendered 1080p plays beautifully on my Dune 3.0. I only use it when I am exporting to other formats. Panasonic SD9, Panasonic TM700, Panasonic SD600, GoPro HD Hero.

Hence why tsMuxer doesn't recognise it. Panasonic SD9, Panasonic TM700, Panasonic SD600, GoPro HD Hero.

Yup + if you try to force it, tsmuxer it reports a cyclical "AC3 stream (track 2): bad frame detected at position 00:00:00,000 ...." tries to resync then crashes. Even eac3to sees an issue when demuxing the audio stream and warns it can not correct the sync. It seems to be an issue in how PD9 muxes the streams, I'll have a play with some settings. It is definatly how PD9 muxes the streams. Even on a full SVRT with both untouched Audio and Video it still does something odd. The muxing is no better if converting to LPCM, DD 2.0, or different bitrate DD 5.1

Did some testing with the 3305 patch installed:

- CPU Rendering: Good Audio Sync, No transition issues (both the output and that run through FixPD9). That said there is still something odd and non-standard with the PD9 Output (muxing or timing issues).
- GPU Rendering: Good Audio Sync, No transition issues for the output. After running it through FixPD9 it showed a lipsycn issue with the audio + the same nonstandard muxing issues.
- SVRT Rendering: Good Audio Sync, No transition issues for the output. After running it through FixPD9 it showed a terrible transition issues between SVRT and Rendered sections of the clip. Also the entire clip was not recognised as a valid file by tsmuxer.

Will do a PS3 HW Compatibility Test Shortly

PS3 HW Compatibility test with the 3305 patch installed:

- CPU Rendering: PS3 complained it was an unrecognised format and would not play. The FixPD9 version did play but it stuttered.
- GPU Rendering: As with PC Playback --> Good Audio Sync, No transition issues for the output. After running it through FixPD9 it showed a lipsycn issue with the audio
- SVRT Rendering: As with PC Playback --> Good Audio Sync, No transition issues for the output. After running it through FixPD9 it showed a terrible transition issues between SVRT and Rendered sections of the clip. Also the entire clip was not recognised as a valid file by tsmuxer.

I don't know what to recommend as there is not a single "good" option at present that suits all combinations. If you will never need to remux then either GPU or SVRT options seem OK to me on my equipment (HTPC and a PS3), but who knows how clips created now are going to behave on new equipment in the future given their poor compliance.

Anyway, at this stage I do not recommend using FixPD9 as you get a better result with the output from PD9 than trying to remux the streams.
