Quote ... The first orginal video is a 1920x800 2.40:1 music video bought on apple. I would want to keep it without black bars.
The second is a 1920x1080 16:9 digital copy of a dvd. It has horizontal black bars in it. I would want to remove the black bars. ...

still photos you can crop with FREEFORM aspect ratio to get rid of the horizontal bars but videos you can not.

Ok. It cannot be done with PD.

If someone disagrees that it can’t be done, I asked some simple questions in previous posts. I would love some answers.

Nothing useful there. Seems the post/question/topic hasn't been delved into or atleast nobody gave answers.

I'm not sure what you're implying. Several people spent some considerable time on this thread and provided clear answers to your questions. Pepsiman even shared a video created using his methodolgy that you verified was truly borderless.

For some reason you aren't seeing the same results. I don't know why that is, but it isn't because nobody here bothered to respond or give you an answer. I understand that you're frustrated, but blaming people who've been volunteering their time trying to help you isn't a good way to advance your cause.

If I had more time, I'd be happy to follow your steps exactly as you've decribed them and see if I end up with a borderless video or one with black bars. Unfortunately, I don't have much extra time right now, so unless you can wait a few days until I have time or until someone else has more input, I don't know what else can be done here.

Got it. Thank you for clarifying that.

Like I said, I'll try out the instructions as soon as I have at least an hour available. Do you have a link to the original borderless vid you're working with?

PD doesn't allow it ? Maybe PD recognizes it as a file that has to be bought and can't be shared, like the file has some innate protection ? I's weird.

Do you have PD17 pepsiman ?

I changed it to mp4 with handbrake as you suggested.
In the dimensions tab of handbrake the source (1920x800, PAR:1/1) was different than the width and height so I changed the width and height to 1920x800. It still wrote "output display size 1709x800, PAR 4145x4656". The point is that this file should have the same size and AR as the original otherwise there is no point in trying to replicate what I did.

I had time today to test this out. I blindly followed the steps laid out in your Apr12 post, and didn't look at PepsiMan's video.

In PD17, the final video has black bars along the top and bottom but none on the sides. I also duplicated all the steps in PD14 and saw the same results. All my produced MP4s and the custom profiles for PD14 and 17 are in this OneDrive folder.

I spent about 2 hours on this, and when I have another break I'll see if I can find where the problem is. From my testing, it's not a PD17 issue, though.

It works perfectly in WMP, VLC, Win10's Movies & TV player and even in the ancient QT player. What did you do differently?
